I tried installing the iPad baseband on my iPhone 3G 4.2.1

When I got my iPhone into DFU mode, redsn0w closed out when trying to load the iPad baseband. Do you know why this would happen?

I just did this and it failed! Now my iphone 3g will not power off. I hold down the top power button until the red slider comes on. when I slide it the screen goes crazy and turns back on. I have tried to reset it by putting it in DFU mode but it doesn't work. This is a locked phone so I can't restore it through itunes. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

@RSZeeraak Simple fix. You will have to run it twice. Select cydia the first time and let it run. The second time select the iPad baseband and run it and let it's do it's thing, then bam. good to go.

@Ratchet1904 go to start then my computer after that go to tools then folder options then view scroll down then uncheck "hide extensions for unknown file" then click apply then ok after that go the zip file and rename the file at the end .zip to .ipsw (for example if the file is called youtube.zip then change it to youtube.ipsw) then after that the icon should change to the apple firmware icon. this should work if you fallow all steps.
