  • They should've eaten this reporter

  • Margaret Mead had recorded falsified documents. Samoans lied to her and her views of life in Samoa were poorly thought through.

  • Sadly, the ignorant, racist and colonialist views expressed on this video still challenge our Pacific people today. Maybe we should start eating up some s#$t to get some really respect. bahahahahahahaha!

  • We Samoans have a proud heritage honesty respect and straight forward. For generations the word pass down by our elders, "We Samoans are also chosen people".The western european nations have non, but built in corruption and lies. They have stolen gold and silver from countries they set foot making laws impossible for these nations to claim them back. May be that God lodge us in the Islands because if we were living in landmass, you bastards would cirtainly be wiped out.

  • @vboat100 theifs

  • Margaret Mead sure loved the South Seas, in particular Samoa. We studied Margaret Mead back in Junior High School, back in the 1970s. She was still alive then.

  • Actually...Malietoa is my ancestor...my line derives from his 2nd son Malietoa Tui. Tongans did rule in Tui Manua before they were defeated by Malietoa and those who followed and was cast away....where they found what is now Tonga. My favorite quote from the Tongan King is "Ua Malie Toa, Malie Tau Ou te le toe sau i le auliuli tau, a o le auliuli folau O le a le toe sii mai se taua e Toga i Samoa" He was very honorable in his defeat.

  • What a horribly condescending narrative.. Disgusting.

  • hahaha... this is an awsum video...

  • kid holding his cock @4:30

  • okay, white people/european folks in history claims africans, native americans, polynesians, asians, latins, etc. to be savages. but in all reality, they r the real savages. goin, to innocent peoples lands raping, killing and stealing there lands. now that's what u call a savage! murderers, rapists n thieves. i dnt care if my peoples were cannibals, i believe every culture had cannibals in amongst dem at one point. dats why whites r so facinated by vampires. lets get real!

  • 100% PURE SAMOAN....and proud.

  • They went to Tonga but some of the crew were baked alive in underground umu, so the video never made it out.

  • Effin Bull crap. That's the narrator's way of thinking. His words seem to be all made up as he went along documenting this film.

  • Ignorance...*shakes her head*.

  • How dare you call the citizens of Samoa and Fiji Island names such as savages and cannibals? You are so ignorant and uneducated white trash. For your information, my grandfather lived in the 1800 and he did not eat humans as you claims in this video. You are a f... liar and uneducated. You're very racial and I hate you.

  • WHITE PEOPLE ARE REALLY SOMETHING...ALOT OF TRASH TALK AND INSECURITY IS WHAT THAT IS...WHITE PEOPLE CAN TRY TO OFFEND ALL OTHER RACES BY WORDS...WELL ALL U GOTTA TELL A WHITE MAN IS...WELL I MIGHT BE ILLEGAL OR WHAT NOT...BUT YOUR WIFE NEVER BRINGS THAT UP....LOL

  • It's interesting how the dominant ones super-impose their point of views as what is correct. If you don't know any better, or don't know about the culture, then you would believe this to be correct... Remember, there's always two sides to every story.

I appreciate the footage though! Would be much better to have had a native narrate it.

    Peace.

    jp.

  • samoans arent cannibals you dumbass :P

  • not just white people, white people from the 1930s

  • The film is good, but the narration is garbage. I'll give it a D+.

  • White people...you are so "humorous"...before you judge..be ready to be judged. Whatever..!

  • I'd love to eat the narrator right now! What they call a primative lifestyle, we call simplistic core family and community values. Exactly what is missing in greedy corporate imperialist western civilizations today.

  • I GUESS WE DA GOOD CANNIBALS

  • the samoans are a superior race, the chiefs daughter was so pretty and the chiefs wife had class, equal to the white people back then,, i cannot say much about fiji,, as far as iam concerned, they were un civilised for a lot longer..,iam neither samoan or fijian,,my comments are based on this video..

  • @nikamma21 kill yourself FAST!

  • @Steadno ahahahaahaaa

  • that waz very intresting.specilly seeing that shipwreck, thats wer parliment house iz now

  • I love the comment, "the bushy haired members of the Fijian band' A'e se choowhooo!

  • Fijians are melanesians..Samoans are Polynesians...good video of typical ignorance / arrongance from the palagi back then and what our parents and grandparents endured with, Palagi's not as blunt today ..but its definitely lurking in the backgrounds..

  • @butio007 fiji is micronesian cuz dere so blakc lol

  • @uso27 sorry uso micronesian it is...

  • @uso27 dont be stupid , fiji is melanesian .. learn your geography before you open your mouth -

  • @nesianQueen97 fiji is polynisian but are considered melanesian!!!1

  • @nesianQueen97 - well let me ask u.. who named the sections, polynesians, micronesians, melanesians, u idiot, look at the culture, there is a reason why our dialog are similar, changed in time, our culture are similar as well - if u seen the movie ROOTS.. white people have been brain washing indigenous forever. but at the end of the day. they cant keep the truth hidden. we R all related,. i mean everybody in the pacific realm is related. from Hawaii to Vanuatu.

  • Sort of confusing, seems as though he is saying 'dont go there they will eat you, but then finishing off by implying that the islands is a paradise of freedom and relaxation. Now, if you were a palagi watching this in 1933 (though it seems the clothes both fijians and samoans were wearing are modern like) would you go and become a possible meal?

    probably noooooooooooooooot

  • The Fijians are the first ones that were shown dancing ...Samoa did not belong to anyone ya stupid idiot!...Damn stupid greedy ignorant palagis...Samoa has always had its gods & da goddesses who protect the island and its people since the beginning of time but the STUPID palagi missionaries came and told the people there that they were not gods & da goddesses were evil. This is why Samoan people until this day always think that the Afiogas are evil.

  • The Fijians are the first ones that were shown dancing

  • kaiviti reprezent..

haha my grandma wud tell me her great grandparents were cannibals..

  • Imagine-white meat, but wat if we had chinese ??it will be takeaway every night

  • Islandtechno Tongans had rule over parts of SAMOA (Western Islands) then WAR broke loose the SAMOANS defeated the TONGANS and exiled TONGANS from SAMOA giving birth to the WARRIOR title MALIETOA......... But many years before Malietoa & Tui Tonga War the Great Tui Manua from SAMOA conquered & ruled TONGA and many other islands.......

  • The Tu'i Tonga descended from the Tu'i Manu'a that ruled Polynesia before the existance of the Tu'i Tonga. The Tu'i Manu'a Kings conquered Polynesia before any other Polynesian Kingdom. They were Samoans or Manuans.

  • Half of you Samoans need to learn Samoan History..... Ancient Samoans were cannibals Malietoa was the one who ended Cannibalism in SAMOA. Their are still phrases used today that reflect the time of Cannibalism in SAMOA such as this phrase which was once the most disrespectful phrase you could say to another Samoan which was: KAO OE SE UMU or KAO LOU ULU SE UMU which reffered to cooking a person and eating them etc.....

  • you are a great scholar and linguist

  • OMG my dad says that to me all the time!!! LMAO!!

  • LMAO your dad says to you Kao oe se umu or Kao lou ulu se umu? LMAO you must really piss him off hahahahha

  • Haha o goodness. IM HALF FIJIAN nd HALF SAMOAN..so wat if Fijians was cannibals..lol i know Samoans weren't tho!!! BUT A KVT's aint no Savages..and the pronounciation of the word Meke is meaning dance is wrong..gaaa palagi ppl haha damn Kaivalagis

  • um malietoa was a cannibal not da whole island of samoa.......

  • Comment removed

  • It is what is is (and was).

  • ignorant people like the narrator deserves to get eaten u racist sack

  • samoa doesnt have a history of cannibalism...do your research and find nothing...these palagis think theyre something special theyve only been advanced since the 18th century...the egyptians were on top of the known world for 2000 yrs before they fell...nations rise and fall over time...

  • cannibals!! ahh yes!!

  • This ish right here!!! Who the hell wrote this narrative up...Lord help these retards

  • lol

  • "pretty good for these grandsons of cannibals" haha talk about palagi trash talk from 1933

  • man this sucked major racist balls... how about jack the ripper??? .. i mean because he was great brittains idol citizen... and at least we never got sick (black plaque) damn racist people

  • man! those palangi are gy

  • Nice haircut for way back in 1933 lol...

  • Wow. The utter depiction of Samoa as some utopia where there are no such thing as spankings, beatings, rape, murder, corruption, child molestations, theft, etc. I guess Samoa is not like the rest of the world during this time when all was fine and dandy I suppose....absurd. Films like these disgust me so much.

  • SINCE WHEN WERE WE CONQUERED???? OMG!! This vid is full of crap..us conquered?? King Cakobau ceded the country..there was no conquering involved >:( this narrator is so degrading.

  • meki meki???? WTF??? BUSHY HAIR :O:O:O ITS A BLOODY FRO!! Caita..their only form of amusement??? We like eating ignorant narrators like U LOL

  • wait...fijians were still cannibals in 1933?? LMAOOO shouldoff eaten this idiots filming LMAO AND WHITE PEOPLE DONT OWN FIJI...lol white people become fijians LOL. Us Fijians..so proud :):) and fiji neva had a monarchy, we had chiefs in different places. But Im Tongan too..so POWER 2 THE PEOPLE OF TONGA, FIJI AND SAMOA :):X

  • its aight!.......cannibals.....he was very lucky he never wondered to far from his hotel!!......lucky bastered!

  • I'm Fijian. I feel very strong of this video. But the white folks make it seem like they own us. Hello, they do not.

  • should have eaten the narrator of this vid..WTF..bushy hair!!

  • i really like this video

i'm fijian and my great grandfather was a cannible which i think is so cool

theres some really good footage here

  • nice camera magic/trick making this footage look vintage as if it was really shot way back in '33. not fooling me.

  • the commentary was pretty horrible

  • Of course Tonga, and I say this without a hint of pride, is not included in this "documentary" because then the commentator couldn't say, as he had about Samoa and Fiji that it was conquered by the white man. Tonga is still the lone monarchy in the South Pacific.

  • These were the days when the world was made up of civilised white people versus the uncivilised cannibal savages. Whites were able to feel superior by travelling the world and civilising the natives making them wear clothes and stop eating each other.

They did get one thing right here though - many Fijians have Beautiful Bushy Hair. They just forgot to add the word "beautiful". More Power to the Fijian Fro!

    From a proud Baha'i sister.

"The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens."

  • great footage...horrible comentary...

  • Also the whte folk never found the Samoans. We were never lost. They were.

  • This is very interesting. I love the old images of the Samoan dances you do not see this formation today Its resembles the Tongan Otuhaka dance.

The narrator needs to be eaten bloody palagi. Malo!

  • In my Samoan Talauega genealogy was cannibalism. What started as a culture tradition soon developed into an addiction like any bad habit, I suppose.. Chief Talauega of Falealii had a large wooden drum or the LALI. (still in existence) When beaten it meant a human sacrifice was to be made. A healthy young man. was always the sacrificial lamb. Chief Malietoa's own son, La'auli ,offered himself for his fathers consumption causing the old man to relinquish his practice. Not too long ago folks.

  • Samoans are not well known for there cannibalism for it was said that Fiji out classed any other nations that practiced cannibalism..Notice Ive said practiced...Fijians ate human meat because they loved it...other nations did it for scarification....Fijians are the ultimate warriors...Mai daru mai

  • Fijian people beautiful people ! I thank god my dad is a Fijian.

  • awsome awsome vid, great post

  • i thot only Fijians a canniblism..now i knw Samoan does too..lolz

  • now u know:)

  • Note the nifo oti held by Samoan warriors from Apia village, the village my great grandfather le afioga Tuiletufuga Liu, was high chief.

Cannibalism was also a ritual process of inculcating the mana of the defeated warrior, to take in his 'mana', rather than revenge and humiliation as this narrator suggests. It was considered honourable to ingest your noble enemy not for food or spite but for honour amongst warriors.

  • @timtufuga dat is true... they only do it to show supremecy.. over others so other chiefs frm different vilages/ tribe wont dare to attack them...

  • I do not see a single obese Islander in this film? What has happened to Polynesian diets?

We should eat somemore people to lose those idle pounds hehe????

I do triathlons and marathons and look just like our ancestors still.

We need some more wars to get fiesty and fit again?

These people have beautiful physiques, true warriors without playing a single game of rugby.

  • The fa'afafines are the first cannibal...lol and proud of it.

  • Nice video, my grandparents told me about when Samoans & Fijians were Cannibals.

  • yeap this is true, all pacific islands were cannablistic at a time, even during the times of the dreaded red headed caucasians, this was brought about by them, look up those stories my brother

  • tru my brother, if u go to tonga, u should go to the UMUTANGATA in fo'ui bro...

  • "...to find traces of the old Fiji, of the savages whose appearance struck such terror in the souls of the early traders"

    lol

it's kinda funny listening to the way natives are portrayed. thanks for posting this.

  • Very interesting video, thank you.
