  • i like the suit he is wearing :P

  • Since the title seems incorrect never mind ambiguous (everyone has a Fugue, some have more than a few).

What is this peace and which composer?

  • I cannot understand why people dislike Yngwie's style, it's maybe the best way to say "I've listen some barroqe and romantic music instead of Don Omar's farts" yngwie bless himself!

  • Wheres the Octopus?

  • Is it just me, or should Yngwie watch the director more closely? He seems to not be able to follow the tempo

  • damn, thats a nice watch he's wearing

  • It's a Fugue allright, and Malmsteen is insanely talented !

  • It has no spirit of Fugue!!

  • Comment removed

  • @0angeplume0 "spirit of Fugue"? What the fuck are you talking about??

If it's a Fugue, it's a Fugue! What the hell does 'spirit' have to do with anything?

  • @robonez

I've never said this is not a Fugue, okay??

    Please don't misunderstanding my words!

I just said this kind of music is not like the Fugue of Bach

The Fugue of Bach is filled with his spirit.

It's just my thought,I have my right to talk what I thought.

What the reason should you be so angry with that??

  • fugue is a contrapuntal composition in two or more voices, built on a subject (theme) that is introduced at the beginning in imitation and recurs frequently in the course of the composition.

    Its a fugue ; )

  • Name another guitarist that could pull this off or keep up at this level better than Yngwie Malmsteen, I now of no one else just sayen.

  • i don givah fuck!

  • This is a fugue! Look up the musical concept if you don't believe me.

  • i love this song is not a fugue ?? for me is not important i love this man play guitar

  • a fe of the parts sound like fugues

  • this is awesome

  • Looks Like Yngwie is a bit miffed he's not getting 100% of the attention. He's like "don't people realize that I am the only one on this stage with a guitar?!!!"

  • If its not fugue so what is this?

    help me!

  • @shaharaviram It is a fugue, you still can clearly hear the subject and recapitulation

  • Constantly straying from tempo. Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

  • @areacynic I think your criticism is just envy ! Do you know somethingh about music ? No eh! hihihihi

  • guitar is too loud for me.

  • @jnsbp83 Lol it is the guitar amp that makes it loud not the guitar.

  • @tangnatalaga the guitar sound I said, shure is the amp heheheh, thanks dude

  • Malmsteen!!!!!! Ynguie

  • el mejor guitarrista del mundo segun yo,

     viva malmsteen

  • he is drowning out the beautiful music coming from the orchestra and choir

  • He`s so good he can play with asians!

  • shite

  • What you want to listen to is the Brandenburg concerto in G by Bach. The third movement has been ripped off into this painfully stodgy nonsense.

  • EEEYUCK when the choir comes in it sounds SO cheesy.

Also, Mr Maimsteen's rushing ahead of the orchestra most of the time.

  • the only ways of playing a fugue on a guitar is either to play like hendrix with the thumb (though he never played one) ore by extremely stretching the hand!

  • this is gay

  • @googlekopfkind Why do you think that?

  • The Beethoven of the guitar.

  • No need to say more, just ... Magnificent!

  • fantastic!

  • this sucks, why would you play neo-classical guitar over the more challenging classical guitar lolo

  • @Dwaynethesock ????

By the way, this would be neo-baroque... classical comes after, and then romantic

  • not a fugue, more like a concerto with choir.

  • neo-classical guitar... wel, this kid of music is more aproximated to J. S. Bach style, classical music is Mozart or Haydn, they are diferent kinds of music, and if you listen to them you will notice. About the video... i don't like it, i don't see why someone may need a whole orchestra and a choir just to play the guitar reealy fast in front of them... it's not rock... there's a lot of improvisation por being classical... then, wtf is this??

  • @maurolvm72 Mozart is regarded as romantic by some authors, not classical... and Beethoven as the most important romantic composer along with Wagner... so called "classical" music is in fact baroque (after reinassance), then classical and the romantic... then modern and post modern :)

  • LMAO did any else see the smiling asian behind yngwie on 0:25

hahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAAH!!!!!!!!!!!! i never seen a smiling asain :P

  • He seens Louis XIV. Greats work. YOu should make classic musics.

  • yngwie looks like louisXIV

  • This is a fugue, and i'm Obama.

  • @ahgblopes sup obama

  • @ahgblopes who cares this song is a masterpiece.

  • @Gtrplyr1

    sorry, it isn't...

  • @ahgblopes well where is your albuM?

  • I think he's a god! but any other person in that orquesta is as good as he is!

  • @dresiosue

The difference is, they are playing traditional classical instruments, where as Yngwie is taking an non-traditional instrument like the Electric Guitar and making sound like a classical instrument!! Almost like a violin!!!

I know that one of his hero's is Paganini!!!

  • amazing but not a fugue

  • @elvin211 exactly, this is not a fugue!

  • @elvin211 Call it what you want but as a guitarist I can learn from it.

  • This one is my favourite!

  • this here is the god of guitar.... no questions asked

  • This is awesome.

  • Honestly I enjoyed listening to it :) great Yngwie !!

  • This is brilliant, the electric guitar being played along side the classical instruments sounds awsome. I think it makes for a very epic and beautiful sound all together. I dont understand how anyone could dislike this? Their is deff alot of feeling and emotion and for those who talk shit you can shove your opinion up your ass and around the corner.

  • For someone with so much skill and 'talent' as a musician and guitarist I just don't see anything but "Look how fast I can play a scale! Look how fast I can sweep pick this arpeggio!". No interesting melodic or harmonic ideas to be found in anything he has EVER written or recorded! "Look! I can play some music on an electric guitar that was written when electric guitar didn't exist and that somehow makes it 'rock' more." I don't know. To each his own I guess...

  • @11jupitercowboy8 he's not showing off how fast he is, he's showing people how he "re-composed" classic music to make it his own style. soooo no, yngwie malmsteem is not pointless garbage.. he's a very talented musician.

  • @81metalchick I don't argue that he's not talented. I argue that he's not very creative. I mean it makes sense that eventually electric guitar would be applied to classical music. I don't think it's that big of a step - like he didn't single-handedly create an ENTIRELY new original genre of music.

  • @81metalchick how much more creative can he get? that's really hard to re-compose.

  • Ok, I admit I have this weird desire to keep checking guys like this to see if there is ANYTHING at all I missed of value in what they do. I'm not one to 'hate'. I tend to keep my negative comments to myself. But you know what? This is pointless garbage. There's just no need for it. This music was already done to the hilt and far more creatively and brilliantly 250 years ago.

  • amazing song but the climax was completely wrong he should have written it differently he had some great builds in suspense and power and just left them there leaving the listener with no conclusion that was note worthy.

  • Neo-Baroque. There is nothing classical about this, at all.

  • Mágico, hipnótico, sorprendente, lo mejor que así rifa en directo xD

  • This is not a fugue, there is nothing fugue-like in this piece whatsoever...

  • Fantastic!

  • Martians have detected the odd one out.

  • Comment removed

  • This is an awesome piece of music, but is this written by Yngwie himself?

  • @ToastedCigar Yes, all !

  • @ToastedCigar Yes, and i can't get it how people comment on his "lack of emotion"and "writes bad music"! can those mother****** please grab a guitar and compose a fucking MASTERPIECE for an whole orchestra with over 5 different melodies playng at the same time without sounding like crap + play like a fucking GOD on the guitar? no? thought so

  • Regardless of its status as a fugue, this is a fucking great piece

  • flawless!

  • awesome!

  • Writing a fugue is a difficult work. You will need a lot of conterpoint in composing a fugue. Like no parallel 8th, 5th. Avoid intervals like 2th, 7th.... like damildlyshreddah said, you need a subject, then play the subect in other key.

Malmsteen is great, but he isn't a classical composer

  • What the fugue?!

  • with a little bit of practice he will be able to play iron man and smoke on the water

  • I LIKE WHAT HE DOES WITH HIS HAND AT 1:58..FUCKING GENIUS AND HE KNOWS IT

    ITS ACTUALY 1:54

  • Comment removed

  • this album sounds amazing with a good sound system....

  • Does he need to wear a watch during a performance?

  • This tune is a lot of fun to play.

  • Yngwie, where's the fugue? Unleash the fucking fugue!

  • Yngwie J. Malmsteen + Orchestra = Fire

  • Shut Up¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Just enjoy the music. If you don't like Malmsteen, What a fuck are you doing here??? Just Enjoy¡¡¡

  • Isn't it a fucking awesome Fuckue ?

  • malmsteen is all!

  • I think, there is no wall for any style of muzic....

  • i rly HATE ppl that attack classical music, it is the foundation of all , wake up ..ask someone that has rly devoted his heart and his time to music to explain you terms like HARMONY, etc , , for god's sake..(Personally, I listen to all kinds of music with pleasure , but i prefer practising this style on guitar , because it is the hardest and the most virtuoso-style..((after having achieved a good lvl on piano)) , and i'm sure it' ll do me much good)...Show some respect plz ....

  • @TheMusician152 completly agreeing with you !

  • the choir is incredible

  • FREEGUITARLICKS IS A FAGGOT WHO HAS NO LIFE

  • malmsteen is a great guitar player, amazing virtuoso, but the electric guitar simply does not fit in... :( *searches for bach instead*

  • Malmsteen es diossss aceptenlo y adorenlo

  • It would be much better WITHOUT Yngwie

  • Bach would be jealous.

  • @Anarchyffan You know nothing.

  • Of course the only orchestra that can keep up with Malmsteen is asian...seriously what aren't asians good at?

  • @goodygoody23 Malmsteen is the one who can't keep up with the orchestra.

  • @FreeGuitarLicks That orchestra is mad good.

  • This is kinda terrible.

  • @FreeGuitarLicks You're kinda stupid.

  • @Anarchyffan He just plays shitty classical music with a disguting electric guitar sound.

  • @FreeGuitarLicks If it's so shitty how come you visit his pages, music and all others. He plays classical music in a beautiful way on a electric guitar, lets see you try that, dipshit.

  • @MrMKFAN The music itself is very bad. His timing is horrible. I would do a better job, no doubt.

  • @FreeGuitarLicks lol, man i dont belive you can do better work than yngwie, becouse you are no one, and yngwie is the creator of neoclasical metal so you are kiding...

  • @musicATLANTIS But neoclassical metal is garbage. I'm better just for not creating that.

  • @FreeGuitarLicks man pease respect yngwie you are NO ONE !

  • @musicATLANTIS And how is me being no one connected to Yngwie sucking balls?

  • @FreeGuitarLicks im better guitarrist than you , im sorry man but i see your videos and that is all.. you play very bad.. and AND you have no technique on electric guitar,,, so funy shit.. learn about, michael romeo, Yngwie, jason becker.. that is..

  • @musicATLANTIS Romeo, Yngwie and Becker are very bad. I am easily better than all of them combined.

  • @FreeGuitarLicks you are an idiot man forget everythings that i say, you are sick...

  • @FreeGuitarLicks You...better than Malmsteen and Becker? LOL

Is your playing highly influential? No.

    Is your playing innovative? No.

Are you just another bedroom/hobby guitar player? Yes.

You sir have no right to state your skills as above that of guitar immortals.

    Troll harder.

  • @Am0kRun I'm actually making a living playing guitar. My playing is innovative. Malmsteens and Beckers isn't.

  • @FreeGuitarLicks Their innovation to Neo-Classical guitar is undeniable, regardless of whether or not you like their playing.

Real E.g: I'm not a Randy Rhoads fan, but I respect what he did and cannot deny his innovation, that would be stupid.

    Same shit here.

  • @Am0kRun Neo-Classical music is Satie or Stravinsky. "Neo-Classical" guitar is playing old music on a new intrument.

  • @FreeGuitarLicks What Malmsteen and others have done is very much a new product/method, a result of creativity and an advancement in playing and musical style... therefore innovative by definition.

  • @Am0kRun So if I play Bach on a synthesizer I'm being innovative?

  • Comment removed

  • @FreeGuitarLicks Playing Bach on a synthesizer I would agree is not innovative, but the development of synthesizers and the original works made with them are innovative.

Malmsteen and the other guitarists mentioned have many original works, and have developed what was a very unique way to play the electric guitar and is now extremely popular.

  • @Am0kRun Justin Bieber is extremely popular.

  • @FreeGuitarLicks not easy playing with an orchestra

  • @CrossTheLine1000 The orchestra seems to be doing just fine.

  • @FreeGuitarLicks i didnt mean that you twat

  • @CrossTheLine1000 Each member of the orchestra is playing with an orchestra, and they're all doing a good job. Then there is Yngwie.

  • @FreeGuitarLicks !! show some respect for the guitar god....

  • @TheMusician152 Guitar god with bad timing and taste that is.

  • Comment removed

  • Sure, I bet you would, I bet you can get the whole Japanese Philharmonic behind you while you play a fugue on a electric guitar, BETTER then Yngwie.

  • @MrMKFAN Yes, I would. And you would probably too.

  • In classical music, a fugue is a composition in two or more voices, built on a subject (theme) that is introduced at the beginning in imitation (repetition at different pitches) and recurs frequently in the course of the composition. For all those who say this isn't a fugue, you're not listening hard enough. This is a beautifully written neo-classical piece that meets and exceeds any and every requirement to be a fugue, so stop hating on it. You don't NEED to comment anyway

  • @YMJHguitar Here are my reasons why I do not consider this to be a fugue:

    1. The orchestra states the subject (in the tonic)

    2. Yngwie then plays the counter-theme rather than the subject (!); the orchestra restates the subject once more still in the tonic (no modulation to the dominant nor tonal answer on the fifth... but my ears might be off)

    3. Then the orchestra plays the counter-theme (finally) and Malmsteen plays the theme (still in the tonic).

That is an odd exposition I must say.

  • Wow... ♥___♥

  • Please stop talking about classical music here, becouse this shit is not even similar to classical music, ok? You have to educate yourselves a little in that direction and then talk about it.

  • why is this called "fugue"? it's not a fugue. it's nowhere /like/ a fugue!

  • Why would Yngwie be so talented if he wasn't incredibly passionate about playing guitar? You don't get THAT good just to be in it for the money. The guitar is this man's life.

  • Impellittieri has done 28 accounts

  • my favorite of his compositions! and whats up with the comments saying this is not a fugue! just listen to it!

  • @Amarelaoo1 Its not even close to a fugue. Give me your description of what you think a fugue actually is and we'll talk :-)

  • @Amarelaoo1 Because it lacks all the things that makes a fugue a fugue.

  • not an once of feelings in this music, i'd rather listen to Bach or Haendel than that.

  • @yannaitz This is guitar, not piano/organ ;)

  • @yannaitz your saying theirs not an ounce of feeling in this? he did compose this whole set, which is amazing for any guitar virtuoso, if you listen to yngwie and say THIS has no feeling, then i dont know what the fuck you have been listening to, classical is yngwie, he incorperated rock into his classical backround which made him what is today, he is a modern day classical musician, bach and haendel died 250 years ago, this is one of the best peices of modern classical music.

  • @340caw Modern classical music is Ligeti or Reich. You would probably hate everything they do. The only modern thing about this is the electric guitar, the music is incredibly dull and unoriginal from a musical perspective and it could be written 300 years ago.

  • Comment removed

  • @yannaitz Bach, mozart, and chopin are definitely better, but this is completely respectable, espicially if your a guitar player.

  • @jjepperson082692 I find Bach, Beethoven and Mozart awesome, they are piano/organ players, this is guitar. :)

  • awesome..

  • the orchestra did good job, but Yngwie....

  • 25 people are going to quit playing guitar

  • What amazing things God had

  • Yngwie looks like a classic composer in modern times and yet, it fits his persona and his performance. I have this DVD and loved from day 1!

  • who da thoought that an electric guitar can play side by side with an whole orchestra

  • @bigamai Apparently the mixer who didn't put the orchestra high enough in the mix.

  • @bigamai Lots of people...

  • THE GOD OF MUSIC !! =)

  • this is what happens when a guitar-playing fetish takes over your life...and it's badass

  • so. where's the fugue?

  • @cmargir No where is the fudge :P

  • @cmargir The fugue not consist to begin with a subjet with one voice, and next to awnser with another. The exposition begin after a short time, and it is a quite good counterpoint. The fugue isn't a Bach's fugue, in fact, jus that.

  • This is the best song of his concerto suite. Really really great.

  • 367 guys like this. Until I came (on this video, then my desktop and screen aswell as pants and keyboard)

  • this is not a fugue

  • @raimundodascove THANK YOU. It is however, quite cool. Just misleading.

  • @raimundodascove your right its not a fugue, but it does contain some counterpoint which may have been the reason someone thought that it was one.
