  • bravo. the boy is amazing.

  • complimenti all'insegnante. Geniale é il suo allievo.

  • So that's what a music lesson is like between an extraordinary student and an extraordinary teacher. Well above my level. Thanks for sharing this. It's brilliant.

  • Isn't this supposed to be a viola concerto?

  • Simple GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bravo!

  • Génial "le gamin !"

  • qnyone can tell me if this original concerto is in cello or viola?

  • @FredericoLourenco Originally for viola, but it sounds pretty good in cello too.

  • @TheAltoviol viola da gamba!

  • quel age a-t-il?

  • Does anyone know the second song "Don" played at 3:37 If someone knows, could you tell me, i would like to play it :]

  • It's actually the second movement of the cello concerto that they played in the beginning; what was played first was the finale.

  • the 2nd movement of the cello concerto was played in 3:37

  • hey what song is this... I want to learn it now...

  • This is really interesting, and she seems to be a really good teacher! Let alone amazing cellist :)

  • Do u guys know exactly what piece they are trying to play? i'd like to download it

  • Afraid not, but there can't be many cello concerti by JC Bach that have survived (and make sure that's JC, not CPE, JS, JE etc.!) so it might not be too hard to find

  • It is the so called 'Johann Christian Bach' Cello Concerto. It is a fake written by musician Henri Casadesus who passed it off as a work by JC Bach. Even though this is not a real 18th century work, it is still lovely music and a very nice and playable concerto!

  • Ohhh right!

  • @danielemanuelb Surely, this is not fake written - it was only arranged as a duet from a concerto by the musician in order for a fabulous piece of music to be played by only two people.

For a concerto, it is not that easy - you are interpreting the piece to suite intermediate standards.

Alot of music books of which I have come across have concertos arranged specifically with an accompaniment along with the lead instrument.

  • the piece is named concerto in c minor and its by bach

  • Alexander is wonderfull, at such a young age he has an understanding of music most at his age lack of. He will certaintly go far and the French School is just great to develop these talents, the school offers a lot of analysis when it gets to the art of interpreting. Ophelie Gaillard is a tremendous violoncellist!!!!!!!

  • That kid is just WOAH!!

  • which size is the kid's cello??

  • i think it might be 3/4 size

  • I think you are right. The kid is too little for an other

  • why do some people need a sheet to read while playing? great playing

  • this is soo amazing, so much talent!

  • Alexander has the TIGER-BY-THE-TAIL!

  • Il est vraiment très doué pour son âge. Ca m'intéressait vraiment quel âge il a, et depuis quand il joue cet instrument.

  • I'd love to see Alexander play the whole movement.

  • omg me 2.

is there any recordings of ophelie playing it?

  • not on itunes. i dunno anywhere else! i hope there are. she's the greatest.

  • tanto talento

    eso ....

    suerte para tu futura vida

    es mi concerto favorito

    gracias Ophelie

fue muy encantada verla hoy con la boite a musique

especialmente sobre el fragmento del concerto de haydn y sobre esta video .....

  • It's great to see how she teaches music. It really gives us some insight into her musical philosophy.
