Vista is going to be the largest upgrade so far to windows. What the fuck have they been doing before. i would hardly call visat a upgrade. All it is is like clear bars, stolen widgets, flip( a shit form of apple expose), and other shit that looks new but is really just the same as before. Every upgrade apple hase mad on OSX has been a better improvment than this.

When i first saw IE7 it just reminded me of Firefox (1 thing copied). now people have been saying that the Vista user interface, AERO, is very similary to Mac OS Xs Aqua (2 things copied) and know you have the check boxes in windows explorer, just like Linux (according to bnightwing ^_^) (3 things copied).
They have copied alot more than just 3 things. They basically took Mac OS10.1 and slapped microsoft logos on it. OS 10.1 was released in like 2001. Then they stole expose and widgets too. Microsoft has acctually never invented anything good. Other people do and then microsoft brings the product to everyone.

When Vista is released early 2007 the pcs running it will be better. this version of vista needs a 2ghz processor and 1 gig of ram minimum. The basic can run with 1ghz and 512 mb of ram. This is minimum specs tho

With all the copy protection goof up built in this thing I really wonder what the soul purpose going to this OS in the first place? MS Vista really need at least 3 to 4 processors to function correctly as a reality 3D gui world. Their dashboard on the xbox360 is proof it can be done right.

I appreciate the effort you have put into this video-I think giving a good product you could produce an excellent show. However the features of Vista made it seem silly. One example is how you show off flip 3d. A unigue piece of Vista sure, but it is unique becuase it is poorly designed. The benifit of it over (alt+tab) is that the currently selected window raises to the top. However on Linux(XGL) the current window is raised to the top while switching with alt-tab which reduces redundancy.
Of course it's slower it's a new operating system. Wanting to run Vista on an old PIII is like wanting to run OSX on an old G4. It's just not going to happen. And everyone knows it. So what's the big deal?
What about running OSX 10.3.9 on an older G3? Because it is happening. I'm a PC user since forever but Micr0soft releases badder OSes everytime, that's a fact.

First the wizards at Microsoft rewrote the OS which will force users to use their anti virus software, and you can forget about a firewall, the OS makes you use the firewall within the OS source code. They have virtually no or limited support for your peripherals (so forget about scanners, video capture cards, etc, etc.. and to top it off the O.s." GUI will burn your CPU between 10 to 20 degrees warmer at idel.

Another thing is Vista look like it really need two monitors to fully used it features the way it was meant to be use. The Vista OS requirements is incorrect and pipes dream are made of this type mad money profits. :(

With all the copy protection goof up built in this thing I really wonder what the soul purpose going to this OS in the first place? MS Vista really need at least 3 to 4 processors to function correctly as a reality 3D gui world. Their dashboard on the xbox360 is proof it can be done right.

I appreciate the effort you have put into this video-I think giving a good product you could produce an excellent show. However the features of Vista made it seem silly. One example is how you show off flip 3d. A unigue piece of Vista sure, but it is unique becuase it is poorly designed. The benifit of it over (alt+tab) is that the currently selected window raises to the top. However on Linux(XGL) the current window is raised to the top while switching with alt-tab which reduces redundancy.

You don't want Vista RC-1 or should I say Vista Real Crap 1... It sucks big time. First the wizards at Microsoft rewrote the OS which will force users to use their anti virus software, and you can forget about a firewall, the OS makes you use the firewall within the OS source code. They have virtually no or limited support for your peripherals (so forget about scanners, video capture cards, etc, etc.. and to top it off the O.s." GUI will burn your CPU between 10 to 20 degrees warmer at idel.

INSTALL the entire windows VISTA*** package on your windows XP/Media Center! This will change your loading screen, icons, taskbar, etc. It's free and all you need is to register and validate. It should be stickied under Announcements.
