  • Makes total sense. It'll probably work out as well as that whole "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named" thing did. Voldy totes didn't come back. "He-Who-May-Not-Be-Straight?" Haha!

  • how about they propose a "don't say Jesus" law, too?

  • this is so gay

  • I’ll refer to anything, or anyone, as being ‘gay’ whenever I so want to, and let’s clear something else up here… I’ll say to anyone the in the entire world that homosexuality is NOT acceptable; that it’s a sickening disturbing act that has become a trend. Oprah, the media, and politicians have been pushing this trend and manipulating the perception to make it seem like America is accepting of this when in fact it is not; not at all; not even close, and it never will be so.

  • @YourPublicViewer .... I agree

  • @YourPublicViewer If u dnt except homosexuality, y the fudge did u click this?Just cuz Americans have freedom of sppech, doesnt mean u should go and overuse them.Oh, and Think before u type, idiot. NO ONE needs extra critisim. >:(

  • why not start don't speak with gay, ostracize gay from the community or turn your back on gay campaign. Whats wrong with the word gay? start calling them fagots, poofs, homos, butt raiders, bushers, Ganadian but not gay it just doesn't make any sense.

  • Actually, that guy holding the elevator seems gay to me! : D

  • Instant sub.

  • @AakeTraak lol agreed...

  • How would Tennessee prosecute anyone for saying the word 'gay' without referencing the law or what they did? How would a witness testify if it's illegal to say what they heard?

America may actually see our first ever example of witness nullification over this.

  • @zEropoint68 the 'don't say gay' bill makes it illegal for teachers to discuss homosexuality with elementary and middle school students. so it's not illegal to say the word gay on the street, only to say it in the classroom if you're under 15.

which is still pretty ridiculous. if you don't think students should discuss sexuality in school, make it illegal to talk about all sexualities, not just homosexuality. fucking biased senators...

  • @trollionaire They should ban morons like you a.k.a homophobes.

  • Christians. Ah fuck.

  • I Will Never say "TEACHERS" "HOMEWORKS" and "MATH CLASS"

    specially "ENGLISH CLASS" :D

    argh

  • @2010BusinessWoman

Uh oh...you just became an idiot!!...It DOES work!

  • 5 people said it and now regret it.

  • What a hoot! How perfect seeing a satire on a subject that certainly already is. We've added you to our website to share with our LGBTQ youth and supporters. THANK YOU FOR THE LAUGH.

  • You've just equated being gay with terrorism. Just like Michelle Bachman.

Clearly there are idiots on both sides of this issue.

  • @BloodOfTheLamb1 No, they're making fun of the Don't Say Gay bill. I think you're taking this a bit too seriously.

  • DOnt say GAY, its offensive to happy people.

  • GREAT JOB . =D . Sad that this is such an accurate representation of our nation.

  • This is freaking EPIC.

Thanks to tumblr for showing it to me.

  • Classic

  • This video is so ***.

Hey, wait a second. Who censored my word? That's just ***... oh wait o.o

  • It's OK to be Takei!

  • Well I had a gay old time watching this. I take it the context or the meaning of the word doesn't count, you're just NOT allowed to say gay?

  • As a straight Tennessean, I would like to apologize for the behavior of a handful of intolerant rednecks. This legislation is utterly pointless and embarrassing. I assure you, we're not all like this, particularly in Nashville, a town comprised of countless musicians.

  • ok. gay shouldnt be banned but people shouldnt say it to describe things they dont like or people. it should be used for describing ACTUAL gay people, nothing else, eesh. same thing applies for retarded.

  • @Trollin4Evar that's just gaytarded.

  • @Trollin4Evar You're not doing very good at trolling.

  • @scatamalaka I agree, though. Gay people and the mentally disabled, they shouldn't have who they and how they identify used as pejoratives. It's an insult and not OK.

  • @Mr101Flyboy How often do you hear gay people complain about people saying "That's gay." I know gay people who say it themselves! People are just so scared of getting their wrist slapped, or being politically incorrect, they have to outlaw anything remotely offensive. There will always be bigots, and trying to stop them looks ignorant itself.

It will most likely never go away. If it does, it will be replaced, and someone else will have to cry about how they're offended.

  • @scatamalaka Trying to stop bigotry is not ignorant, it's actually doing your part in making the world a better place for all to live. Gay people will say that's gay, some gay people, but they do so in jest. Not as an insult. Using gay as a pejorative is offensive as it's implying gay=bad. It's already, according to studies, been decreased in speech, and that will continue as it becomes less societally acceptable to use such language. It has to do with respect, not being PC.

  • @Mr101Flyboy I understand, and you seem to be a respectful person, but you can't say it's entirely out of respect (for others, that is). For some, it IS about being politically correct. They don't want to be labeled as ignorant.

As for outlawing a word, that is ridiculous. Everybody is offended by something. I'm offended by Jehovah's Witnesses coming door to door, but I do not ask for it to be outlawed. I believe it is their right to say what they want. Of course this is to a certain extent.

  • @scatamalaka Thank you, you seem respectful yourself. I agree that people do have the right to say as they please, but I don't agree that means to tolerate behavior that brings nothing positive and does bring negativity to society. I do agree some people will not use "that's gay" out of PC, in my eyes that doesn't accomplish the main goal, which is to truly educate people on the issue. Everyone will be offended by one thing or another, but based on the merits this is a legitimate concern IMO.

  • @Mr101Flyboy I just think we should be concerned over larger matters first. Not that this matter should be taken very lightly, or shoved aside.

  • @scatamalaka I agree that it's not maybe the #1 issue or concern, but yes, it definitely isn't something that can be taken lightly or not addressed. Honestly, it doesn't take much to get people to realize why it's maybe not cool to say that's gay in an insulting way. Just talking to someone for 5 minutes about it can open their mind and give them a different perspective.

  • @scatamalaka It's a legitimate issue because in my eyes, taking how a person identifies and using it as just some random slurring word dehumanizes those people and connects them with negativity, which will lead to negative thoughts of those people, and it's like a cycle, negative breeds negative. Outlawing a word will never happen, but education on why certain things would be best unsaid is definitely possible, and education is key to change.

  • @scatamalaka fuck you im not trolling

  • DON'T SAY TEA PARTY!!!!!!! hehehe :)

  • If we stop saying "republican" will they go away too?

  • Gay.

  • @Haktsu You said it!!!!!!

  • I wish people would stop saying "starbucks" & "hooker" because those are everywhere! :/

  • You just said all of it and make 1 more... I love G.A.Y

  • Beautiful…thank you guys for putting that kind of legislation in proper perspective.
