  • Yessss... I always LOVED the music from DX-Ball.

  • wow, I only remembered DX Ball recently, and I never knew a number 2 existed until today! It has some awesome music too!

  • hey wow i wrote this years ago ! (94? or so.. nice to find some ppl enjoy it! :)

    sidewinder

    Eric 'G

  • @ :44 there should be a second audio channel that is hard to pick up . From perivious experince the only way to pick up the second channel is to record the audio while playing the game

  • thanks for bringing back memories!

  • 0:44 ♥

  • makes you want to move, torso rockin' yeahhhh!!!!! Peace :)

  • also, this track was supposed to be titled Sheep...

he has another track titled Barnicles (a mistype of Barnacles) that appears on the album 2badsheep, which is a 16-bit revamp of a module titled Sheep Dance

the titles were apparently changed after the new recording, while this module was left behind...

  • @cresun In the 2badsheep album from The Sidewinder, there's a track called "Insatia (The original Dobe Mix) that is other version of this Dx-Ball song. Maybe the original...

  • @facux100pre yeah, there's definitely a connection between the two : they have the same chord progression and bass sequence in common...

perhaps both tracks were written simultaneously as two different concepts that spawned from the same idea...or maybe Sheep is a spinoff of Insatia...

  • @cresun Yeah, I agree with the connection between the two.. I heard insatia (full song) and it's similar but diferent. I'd love to hear a HQ version of the two (Barnicle aka Sheep and Insatia), Also, i think that it would be nice to hear a "2011" version, but that's only my imagination :D

  • ah...i always loved this tune

actually, it was originally recorded on a 16-bit synthesizer, and then sampled to 8-bit sequences to be remixed as a tracker module, which is the result presented here

i always wanted to hear the original recording, and i believe it had a rather obscure release as an mp3 back in the day...but the treasure seems to have dissolved with burnt hard drives and lost bits...
