Although i i am an exile Tibetan and COMPLETELY support HH Dalai Lama, i love my Tibetan people in Tibet and respect their needs. If that means they want to become big stars in China, want to sing Chinese songs or for some even consider themselves Chinese citizens, thats just fine, it is what they want. as long as they do not forget their Tibetan roots. Im really sick of all these fuckin political arguments on Tibetan song videos on YouTube!!
This is a very strange mixing of Chinese, Tibetan and American (hats) peformance. In a way funny, beautiful but a bit like honey and meatballs in the same plate :-)
A Han Chinese music student visited the town of Kangding, then the capital of Xikang province (today's western Sichuan), in the 1940s to entertain a group of local Tibetan soldiers who were shipping out with the Kuomintang Army to fight Japanese in Burma. He composed this song based on local Tibetan music. Today, this song is the most popular love song in China.
holy fuck dood. do me a favor and stop being a little sad sack!Stop trying to be a pain in the ass and stfu. We all know it's not actual tibetan, well wtf are you gonna do about it?! everything's changing buddy, get used to it! No matter how much you bitch and complain, these videos will keep popping up, so shut up, and sit back and watch! And no one stuck a gone on your head and said youHAD to watch, you dillhole! IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, THEN DON'T FUCKING WATCH AND SHUT YOUR ASS UP!
this is a tibetan dance whether you like it or not. These are tibetan dance movements, maybe we didnt do the best repsentation of the moves but we tried our best. These are just "costumes" for performing, modernized costumes. we're not trying to mock how tibetans dress.Dont spam this video by saying the chinese are brainwashed. That's so fckin insulting, tibet IS A part of china. If you're going to talk about the chinese government and changing tibet, i suggest you comment some other place.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
ummm im not writting this to better tibet..im just letting you brainwashed chinese know that this isn't tibetan..and i don't give a damn if this is modern tibet but the fact is that china is changing tibet and they are hiding behind liess...when will china show their true colorss???
omgg...how many times do i have to say this GET YOU TITLE RIGHT it's not TIBETAN dance...WE TIBETANS don't wear clothes like that or dance like THAT!!! and PLZZ STOP putting videos like this because this is NOT TIBETAN AT ALLL!!!! [this is what the chinese government it trying to do...CHANGING EVERYTHING ABOUT TIBET..our culture ..our clothing..dance and music because the chinese government wants PPL to think TIBET is like this and it ISN"T!!!!!]
This is a tibetan dance. Its more modern and not traditional tibetan, but it still is. And writing stuff like that here isn't going to make anything better for tibet. When will you guys just except that you're part of China get is over with.
we live in CANDADA, it has NOTHIN to do with the chinese gov & we know you guys dun wear clothes lik tht, they're simply costumes for performin, we have other costumes for traditional chinese dances doesnt mean we dress like that, n BTW if u havent noticed this world is STEREOTYPICAL. we all have stereotypes for diff cultures ITS NOT ONLY TIBET.SUCK IT UP the world doesnt revolve around u guys. OH btw stop blaming china for changin tibet its up to TIBETANS to keep ur culture n ur own traditions.
I'm reminded of the words of the Tibetan poet Tsering Wangmo Dhompa, "It is not the accuracy of the story that concerns us. But who gets to tell it." It doesn't matter whether this dance is traditionally accurate or not; the fact that the [Chinese] colonizer is making the decision while the colonized remains powerless, and in the process passing off Tibetan dance as a subcategory of Chinese dance, is what is offensive.
hello! i'm french, and i practice chinese danse, and in that moment, i am learning this tibet dance! it's very difficult but so beautiful! i am just at the beginning of the dance. the movements that we do is almost the same like you! and the clothes will be the same! too beautiful!! ^^ you dance too well! (excuse me for my english, i know it's bad...^^')
This is apparently NOT tibetan dance, but it was performed in tibetan style. How come are you so picky? When getting a chance to share others work you should appreciate it instead of criticizing it. To be honest, we here also have a group performing the 康定情歌 in tibetan style.
nothing about this video is tibetan..except for the vocalizing around 3:16 .the song is chinese, the dance moves do not even resemble tibetan dancing, the costumes are like deconstructed tibetan clothes and WHAT IS UP WITH THE COWBOY HATS??!!!
and we're being picky because this represents what china is trying to do to our culture..
Great Tibetan dance!!! Some people think this is not Tibetan dance may forget creativities. Even in Tibetan, there are many different Zang peoples. Just because you know some forms of Tibetan dances doesn't means you know everything about Tibetan dances. People dancing for fun, not for scientific distinction.
As a dancer or singer, there's should have passion in it, most of these poeple Chinese who has no idea what certain movement means, it's total Chinesized art which looks so fake! Tibetans can differentiate from Tibetan or Chinese!
SOME PPL R SO RUDE. calm down if this dance isnt a Tibet dance. The professional dancers call it a Tibetan dance so deal with it! It might not be a TRADITIONAL Tibetan dance but it could be a modern or MODIFIED Tibet dance. THE WORLDS CHANGING PPL! And why r ppl only criticizing our dance? U ppl can bring all ur negative & rude comments to the original version & we put 'tibet dance' in the title for a reason b/c we actually respect ur your culture! unlike sum ppl who call us 'chinesenuckleheads'
god wat in tha heaven these chinese people teaching to these innocent tibetan people.. please u chinese nucklehead dont teach them how to make duck sauce.,,, we love raw meat.. opps i just shit on mao's head,..
It is a beautiful dance. It is good to see that Tibetan dances are adapting and evolving. The important thing is that they are having fun while doing it and the audience are enjoying it as well.
And people can see who is the ignoramus who goes around offending people, who pretends he knows what he's talking about even though he doesn't, and who can't even comprehend simple English by reading the comments. :) You've provided to be an excellent entertainment.
And my point is that it is. By the way, it is probably not a good idea to call someone you don't know an "idiot", when it is clear that the idiot here is yourself.
what do u know about tibet and tibetan dance? not all tibetan dance have long sleeves that comes to the feet...that's just chinese style of tibetan dance
You really can't tell that I was being sarcastic, can you? It was exactly my point that tibetan dance does not need to have long sleeves. Next time, read things through more carefully.
Sigh... does tibet dance have to have long sleeves and all? Otherwise it's not the style? Just as ballet without point shoes is not ballet? (btw, in case you can't tell, I'm being sarcastic) In every video of this dance in youtube, there seems to be people who doesn't think this is Tibet dance. Well guess what, it is. You would think that professionals and dancers would know more about this than some random Joe on the street.
Sigh... why do people get so prissy over things like this? Regardless of whether or not you seem to believe it's tibet dance or not, we learned it as a tibet dance, with the styles of a tibet dance, ect ect. For me, this is perhaps not a typical tibet dance, but the style is that of one, end of argument.
pretty Tibetan girls.

Looks like white people dressing up in face paint and feathers and running around ululating like "Injuns". It's so inauthentic it's painful.
