  • The first time i ejaculated without touching myself.

  • Type "Tom morrello bruce springsteen" into the youtube search engine and an early hit is a professional shot version of this, AND IT IS UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME.

    I recommend playing it LOUD!

    No, louder than that.

  • @Anna00555 No, no, no. Much louder. You need a better sound system. On this, you need live rock volume.

The song, originally written and played solo-acoustic by Springsteen, would make a great Stadium Anthem.

The lyrics might penetrate the Tea Partiers skulls at the volume, but I doubt it.

  • goosebumps....definitely goosbumps.

  • Awsome piece of work. Tom really made Bruce work

  • Comment removed

  • Bruce and Tom. Does it get any better?? I'm a huge Tom Morello fan and love it when I hear him play this at his Nightwatchman shows and with RATM. With Bruce??!! DAMN!!

  • 'Welcome to the New World Order'

alright so you know they are 'rage against the machine' now its time to do some research and figure out what the fuck zach has been screaming about for over a fucking decade.. comon kids, pull your heads out from under your ass and research!

  • @MacPete187 The far left counterculture Zach promoted is still a bit fringe and the issues involved still fall under conspiracy. If I am correct.

  • HOLY SHIT

  • is that a positive or a negative holy shit?! positive i hope...

  • definetly a positive holy shit

  • I had killer seats at this show. It was incredible - I could not sleep! Cant wait for LA Sports Arena This April 2009!

  • If I had been at this show, I think I would have died.

  • Since when is killing pigs a bad thing?

  • if your talking about killing in the name...its not about killing cops its about the kkk

  • hahaha dumb ass

  • "He has the nerve to call us violent when last year there were 80,000 cases of police brutality filed against departments all over the country," de la Rocha told the crowd. "This sheriff pig is poppin' off, poppin' off about how we're violent. Well, shit, HE BELONGS TO THE MOST violent gang in US history."

  • Great news from Boss' website!

Columbia Records will release 'Magic Tour Highlights' on July 15 via all digital download stores, including the iTunes Store. The release will consist of four audio tracks

    1. "Always A Friend" with Alejandro Escovedo

    2. "The Ghost of Tom Joad" performed with Tom Morello) Recording Date: 04/07/2008 (Anaheim, California)

    3. "Turn Turn Turn" with Roger McGuinn

    4. "4th Of July, Asbury Park" (Danny Federici's final performance with the E Street Band

  • this was amazing at night 2 as well

  • Another great moment was the second night when Bruce brought the little girl up on stage and danced to "Dancing in the Dark"

I haven't seen any youtube vids of that one yet. I think most people ran out of tape or battery by that time.

  • When they showed the girl on the jumbotron, my wife said, "I know her". She had the last laugh because my daughter babsits that girl.

  • One of the BEST parts of this clip is that it shows the audience response at the end, to Tom Morellos amazing appearance. I was there, and we ALL went crazy... wow Too many videos stop when the music stops - this one shows how the crowd went wild.

  • Thank you for the video. I was there, both nights. Words don't describe, as you know.

We drove down from Portland (saw em there too) and bought tickets from scalpers. WOW excellent seats. The video, although excellent, doesn't actually capture the moment. Glad I was there. I will probably watch your video a couple hundred times, hope you don't mind.

  • Me too - was there, in club box seats I got on Stub Hub on January 1, the first day I knew they were going to be back in America with this tour. This Rage guy TOTALLY blew us away! MAN, did he blow the roof off the dump! And the Encore with Rosalita and more? Wow...

Just the usual, AMAZING, E Street Experience!

  • So this show is in Anaheim - where was it filmed from Australia - no closeups!!

Watching it looks like you are looking thru binoculars backwards.

Black Lab Productions is about the only production company that knows anything about filming these types of concerts.

  • WOW!

  • tom + bruce = phenomenal

    tom morello's solo = sublime :) i'm speechless...

  • more like this at mybrucespringsteen

  • That's his job.

He's supposed to solo like a mofo, that's why they got him. Plus, Rage did a cover of this song. He went nuts.

  • Do your homework. Morello is an amazing guitar player. Yup, I bet he could play w/o his "whammy pedal". Look him up.

  • dude look up lock up you fuckwhit he never use's a whammy pedal in that band

  • tom or bruce? bruce, right?

  • Sorry to disagree Fedpowell, but live, Springsteen & the E Street Band have often incorporated spectacular guitar solos into Bruce's songs... such as Nils Lofgren's in 'Youngstown'. It's on of the reasons why Springsteen is still relevant and one of the best live acts in the history of rock music.

  • Hey, I love Springsteen and Nils, I have his acoustic live album, he plays this great little venue near my hometown in the UK sometimes. I just think Morello's solo is totally ill-fitted to this song.

  • EXACTLY! The solo in New York on Youngstown is monstrous.

This solo sounds just fine to me.

  • Hey Chrishixx, George, Hitler or whatever your name really is... relax and salute President Obama in November.

  • Shut the fuck up, you ass wipe. You have no idea what you're talking about.

  • to the contrary- there is sufficient evidence to believe that the people they send money to for their freedom, like Leonard Peltier and Mumia Abu-Jamal, are innocent of their alleged crimes.

have you really researched this? zack de la rocha in fact said on stage "we don't support ANY kind of killer, especially no killer cops."

  • because you touch yourself at night

  • They've added the official video with much better camera/sound. Unbelievably adroit guitar virtuosity. Check out Bruce's face when Tome shreds the coda.

  • where? I'd love to see it.

  • Around the 7:00 minute mark Morello starts ripping off Marty McFly.

  • MIND BLOWING! Such an incredible song and this is, in my opinion, the definitive version of it. I only hope better audio and video of this show pops up!

  • allbanitbe, yer. Truer words have never been spoken. And Nils is the greatest, still. Met him 3 times. Regular guy and playin the guitar like a God.

  • Morello is good, Nils is good...neither of them play like each other; saying that Morello put Nils to shame is quite irrelevant...both speak beautiful truths!!

  • I saw both shows, WOW. Drove down from Portland. Best show on earth. I have never seen anything like it.

  • I live in Portland and you should of took me! hehe. I saw Portland & Seattle and I'm aching for more!

  • Nice comment George.

  • Hey Joseph McCarthy: stfu. America is about free-thinking, not bigotry and complacence with the fascist son of a bitch you probably endorse (McCain, right?). This song is brilliant- it alludes to Grapes of Wrath, a stellar book that someone with as closed a mind as yours could never appreciate, and Tom Morello's my hero: drug-abstained, charitable, free-thinking, and creative.

  • Educate us chrishixx. Whose message should we be listening to? Or didn't your sophisticated thinking stretch that far.

  • Why the fuck are you bringing politics into guitar solos? We love him because he's one of the greatest guitarists of the 20th Century.

  • The look on Steve's face toward the end was priceless!

  • I was there fourth row and I came myself.

  • OMG that was almost as good as sex!

  • Not had much sex have you??!!

  • Morello put Nils to shame that night.

  • I was there in the pit that night. Tom Morello was fucking brilliant and brought the night to a whole different level.

  • nils played the pedal steel here...

you see him at the right

  • If anyone has the recording to trade..

  • Nils was busy alright. That song left everyone gobsmacked.

  • Let me just say, this one one of the most powerful songs ever. No matter if it's RATM's version or Springsteen's They are equally powerful. So stop debating which is better? It's just like comparing All Along The Watchtower by Bob Dylan to the cover by Jimi Hendrix. They're just way to different to tell.

Plus when a band covers someone elses song they're not trying to outdo the original, they're doing in homage of the original and the artist who did it so stop making a competition out of it.

  • Hey, you got that exactly right!

  • wicked solo!!

  • Great version. Nice to see the huge fan of the boss - Morello on stage with him.

Check out the Rage Against The Machine version of this song. Sounds nothing like the original (covers shouldn't sound like the original) but is still powerful.

  • Wait - he did Thunder Road the second night??? aieee...

  • he opened with thunder road, for the first time since early born in the usa tour, the crowd went crazy

  • That was the 4/8 show, not this show.

  • I was there!!! It was hot!!! Thanks for posting!

  • People were busy going on about Seattle being the best show on the West Coast, but I'm sure Anaheim is easily the winner now! I wanna see Bruce again!

  • I was there! Amazing song, terrific show!

  • What a night. Opening with Thunder Road, that performance of Jungleland and THIS...phenomenal. Guess this was for all the fans who left the LA show in Oct. wishing he at least done Thunder Road. This more than made up for it. And screw the idiots who make fun of Springsteen for Born to Run or wearing tight jeans on the cover of Born in the USA. He's arguably the greatest American song writer and greatness like Tom Morello can appreciate it.

  • This one's from the first night when he opened with (Just Around the Corner to the) Light of Day:)

  • Yes Sherrishera, I'm aware April 7 was the first night and April 8 was the second, but the performances of Tom Joad were equally great.

  • Hey wassup, check out our new video "Peanut Butter Jelly Time"

    We are linksys.

  • Springsteen [a legend], what a treat to be able to enjoy his shows for 30 plus years and to now enjoy them with my son who i took to see him when he was 8 back in 2000 ,he is now 17 and we saw both philly shows,2007,others ,going to,orlando, atlanta, nc,giant satidum .

wished we were at this one , i am at about 50 shows , he is at 10 .

you all got a treat , all of my kids knew of morello via guitar hero , how funny

  • Saw this blow torch LIVE...was absolutely amazing. The dude CRANKED. The entire audience was exhausted...Bruce was exhausted! Just watching Morello that night was an experience! Thanks for posting this!

  • Springsteen fan since 79' - I must say I thought these moments were a thing of the past but I went to this show and this was highlight of an amazing show - like you were transported back to early 80's.

  • Too bad Morello isn't hanging around with the band after Anaheim. Would've love to hear him shredding on Born To Run.

  • Yep. That's it. Just right. Exactly the right amount of guitar. Dontcha just love ROCN N ROLL?

  • I have to say the whole night was explosive. It was like watching an old Bruce show. 2 hours and foty minutes of stick up your back rock and roll like only bruce can do it. When Tom Morello came up, I mean it was time to buckle up, this was the best show of the tour so far for me, 10 shows, and the best show I've seen in years.

I have about 200 shows under my belt since 1975. Watch this clip and multiply it by 100, that's what it was like live.

  • saw him in cleveland in nov. going to see him in lauderdale for his newest/first addition of the tour cant wait he just keeps getting better and better, show #20 here, hope it never ends with him&the band!!!

  • I was right in front in the pit and this was just classic. Steve was looking a Bruce with a grin on his face like, "This guy is bringing it." Bruce, who rarely backs down from a solo challenge just yielded the floor to this magnificent display of riffage. Quite the rocking show overall.

  • Just back in NY from this LA show, man oh man!

Bruce more than held his own but Tom Morello is a Guitar Hero!

    More like these at mybrucespringsteen

  • I was absolutely mesmerized. Morello conjured up an amazing solo. Bruce and Nils were literally mesmerized. I can't recall a more electrifying guest and ANY SHOW. The dude was like a jurist telling you what the story was. I'm humbled.

  • Freakin amazing - wish I could have seen that...

  • FUCK YA i just got home from this show.. so sick great solo!!! the boss rules i wish he playd the river!!!!

  • one my favorite songs

  • If you had asked me if I wanted to see this duo last night, I would have said ARE YOU CRAZY? NO WAY....

Wow...how wrong would I have been. Luckily there is only one Boss in charge!

This was one of the most compelling and chilling moments I have ever experienced at a Bruce show. This goes back to my first show in1976.

    THIS WAS INCREDIBLE!!

Thanks Bruce and The E Street Band....

  • I was there, too, just behind Suzie. This was frackin' AWESOME! As others have already said, the best guest spot at any Bruce concert ever...period. Keep it comin' baby!

  • Supper Bruce

  • I was there and it was one of the most amazing things I'd ever seen at a Bruce concert(besides Bruce of course)I think even Bruce was awestruck!

  • Wow! That's awesome. I've been a Bruce fan for 30 years and I can't recall anyone ever

stealing the stage from the E Street Band in such a overpowering way!

  • This is BAD ASS

  • Holy - s#$t is right. And I just saw it on You Tube - I wasn't even there. Insane. Bring Morello back for more, Bruce!!!

  • I was there as well. Was so fantastic. Was my first time seeing Bruce and didn't dissapoint and was priveleged to see this!

  • Watch the end where Bruce walks over to Steve.

I was down in front and what he said was "what do we do now?". Steve gave him a Silvio look, shrugging his shoulders as if saying to Tony "what can you do"

What they did was stand on the pedal. The Risin was as intense as I've ever heard and after Badlands, Bruce ad libbed into Out in the Streets ridin the wave of the crowd/band energy.

It defies good sense that the band is still getting better night after night. Unreal

  • I've seen over 60 shows (not many) on over 10 cities (not many) and last nite at the Pond was historical. Colorado Duffer.

Thanks Bruce, see you in Jersey.

  • I was there last night too. One of the best concerts ever! He is so amazing.

  • Shit! 105 Bruce's shows and I never bumped in something like this.... Shit!

  • I was there last night, too!

It was fucking incredible, and I was seated pretty close

to where this video was shot.

That was one the best Bruce shows I've ever seen!!!

thanks for helping relive the night!!

  • 1 word....fuckin awsome!

  • Uh, that's two words.

  • great vid! thanks for sharing!!

  • 2 political gods and musical gods=ONE HUGE ASS GOD

  • This was insane... I'm so happy I was there to see it live!

  • i was front row last night

if you had any idea, to be that close to tom morello's god status guitar skills, you would have cried too

  • justi when i thought i had seen every song i could ever want to see in the 75+ times i have seen Bruce live, he goes and blazes out this and now i got to see this live. One of the best versions of his songs i have ever seen.

  • What a cool treat!

  • This was incredible. XO

  • The next time a 100 greatest all-time guitar solos is compiled, Morello's solo here better be at #1 or thereabouts.

  • it's good, but I don't think it's better than nils' solo on because the night, although I admit it's hard forme to tell from a blurry video.

  • I was there for this, and it seemed like Morello's amazing jam pushed Nils to do his even hotter than he might otherwise - and they BOTH basically blew the roof off the joint! Two mind-blowing solos!

  • What are you talking about? Nils isn't even out there for this song.

  • Nils lit it up on Because the Night a few songs later...

  • Trust me, Nils is out for evey song. He often blends into the background, but you only have to listen. He's there alright.

  • My life is now complete.

  • I knew what was up when I didn't see the double-neck 12/6 string SG. Poop on this version.

  • Thanks alot Bruce! and uploader!

Great Fantistic song, So fun to see this on the setlist... Got up 4h before i hade to, so i could see the setlist!

Great love it. Cant wait till tomorrow

  • Many performances have moved me in my life, but that song last night gave me goosebumps. I was honored to be there to see and hear that. I was blown away by the entire show, but that performance was beyond words.

  • Just the fact that you refer to this tune as a "cover" shows your knowledge of Springsteen's music. Morello was brilliant and the audience appreciated every second of his performance.

  • You beat me to the keyboard !!!! Been going to Bruce shows since 74 and have never once been disappointed and the special guests are always a special treat

  • What I meant that it's completeley different. I'm a huge Springsteen fan and I won't let douchebags like you tell me otherwise. Fag

  • Yeah I'm sure he'd love to know that one of his fans doesn't know the difference between a cover and redoing his own song and makes homophobic remarks on Youtube. A real fan.

  • You're boring me. Stop arguing and focus on getting yourself laid. Take care

  • What cover? That's a Springsteen song?

  • Yeah, it's a Springsteen song. But it's a completely different than the original.

  • yes, it is off of Bruce's Ghost of Tom Joad album.

  • I think the power of Morello's playing added a lot to this song. It was the most moving moment of the evening for me and one of the most of any of the dozen or so times I've seen Springsteen. That said, TM definitely does not match up to Bruce in the vocal department. I guess that's why he is not the vocalist for Audioslave or RATM.

  • dude, cover means someone elses song, you know nothing and your opinion is worthless

  • At the show last night and going again tonight -- Bruce in great form and Morrell was AWESOME! Wjo will stop by tonight...?

  • Many performances have moved me in my life, but that song last night gave me goosebumps. I was honored to be there to see and hear that. I was blown away by the entire show, but that performance was beyond words.

  • Great show last night! Was brilliant loved every second of it!! Go Bruce!!!!!!!

  • Was at the show behind the stage and will be going back tonight... This was a bigger highlight for me than Roalita. Incredible!!!!

  • Absolutely incredible! What a show and what a treat it was last night!

  • this is what makes bruce the special musician that he is... there are not enough superlatives to describe this..simply stunning!

  • I was in the pit for the show and the energy coming off the stage during this performance was unbelievable--like standing next to a jet engine! Bruce should put out a live album for every tour he does and this version of Joad HAS TO BE included!

  • Holy Sh*t! Unbelievable! Lovin'It!!!!!!

  • This was another great show from the Boss and crew! Rosalita, Because the Night, Light of Day...awesome! Thanks for sharing the vid!

  • I was there with my son who unfortunately was not feeling well. But when I told him the guy from Guitar Hero was going to play with Bruce he perked up a bit. And incredibly great and moving performance by both Bruce and Tom.

  • Was definitely the best Magic tour concert yet and one of the best Bruce concerts that I have seen since first seeing him back in 1978.

You knew when they opened with Light of Day, that the ESB was 'out for blood"...awesome!

  • What a great show for the CA fans !!!! Light of Day, Murder, Inc., Trapped and a FULL BAND GOTJ ...been to 5 Magic Shows and I sure wish this could have been the 6th

  • was right at the side of the stage and this was just one of several phenomenal moments in a great, GREAT show..out in the street and rosie were 2 others..how DOES he do it???

personally, i dont buy the whole '58 yrs old' BS..i wanna see a birth certificate!!!

The once, and forever young, Boss!!!!!

  • I was there. Go to 6:30 for the amazing solo

  • I've been waiting 13 years for this song to sound like this-- Thank you Bruce and Thank you Tom

  • Wow. Just unreal.

  • This kicked f'n ass. I was there and the crowd loved it. The roof came off the place.

  • Wow...kick ass performance. Nice guitar work by Morello!

  • Sick show! Greta performance! Can't wait for tonight!

  • Was there last night. This was the highlight of a great show. Morello brought the house down. He was unbelievable.

  • this is pretty much un fucking believable! The best i have seen!!

  • Pure SWEETNESS! Thanks for sharing

  • Awesome!!!

  • i was there too, tom morello rocked the house!!!

  • unREAL! and I was there. holy s**t!
