DLB’s approach to biopics works when he’s writing about a figure we aren’t that familiar with (Milk), but when you take on figure most people have read about it feels like a well- made Biography Channel movie (you said something similar). I agree that it would have been better to pick one event and build a story around it. I think the story of the lindbergh baby from Hoover's POV would have been a tighter story, and would have told us everything we need to know about Hoover as a person.

Edgar seriously because, to me, Decaprio's 'old man' make-up and overall stink-face in the trailer, accompanied by decor and formal wear of the period - make me think this is going to be a James Cagney biopic.
