Besides being from China (what isn't) and considered "low-end" furniture, it's the do-it-urslf assembly that keeps Ikea's price somewhat down. But I like putting things together!

Cool video. How are you liking the Galant? I was all set on getting the exact setup you have minus the round ends, but went into IKEA Houston and noticed that on all the desk, the finish was fairly worn. The desk is gonna cost $400, and for $400 a finish needs to be durable, something IKEA isnt known for.
How is yours holding up?

They had the black and brown one in stock when i went down to frisco to go get mine and they had like 15 of them my dad almost thought about getting one oh and the are bigger than they look online i was so surprised when i got it

How long did it take to build this desk in real time? Also, how many times had you built the desk before this video?
I find after several years of rebuilding my Ikea Jerker desk, I can do it in about 45 minutes now. I've got four swivel shelves, two long shelves and extension bars to put one of the long shelves higher.
