  • im really confused, im new newton2 so its not surprising. basically my problem is that i dont understand why you do all that changing speed y position and global/initial values etc. when if i import it to the editor i have to do all that manually what am i doing wrong?

PS please dont call me an idiot or something, i downloaded it yesterday

  • I'm using newton2 to make an inverted rollercoaster, my first drop is lilke raptor and I'm using curved geometry and there is this strait part at the end, please help I can not figure it out.

  • Wow, it's amazing!

I'm Korean, and I'm one of the managers in RCTSchool-one of the biggest RCT+NoLimits forum in South Korea.

We have to make some manuals about NoLimits, and we need some videos about Newton2.

So, may I add Korean caption in your videos and reupload it in our forum?

If you can't trust me, I'll show where my reuploaded videos from.

Please allow me to show your videos for approximately 40000 members!

    Reply please :-)

  • I notice you say "about" alot like when you're typing in the speed, is it important to get the EXACT speed or do you just need to be close?

  • @mrnoodle999

It depends on what you are wanting to achieve. I'm trying to develop the skill set of the users so, once they understand the principles, they can apply the same principles to a wide variety of situations. I tend to invoke the word "about" frequently to stress that things like speed depend on the situation.

  • Please reply quick!!

    So,I have a problem with Newton 2.0.

When I download it and open it it says Newton 2.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close . We are sorry for the inconvience .

I have Windows XP and i have .net framework 4 so do I Have to remove it and download the .net framework 3 ??? Please reply ! I WANT NEWTON 2 : (

  • @kondistsyke

You don't need to remove .net 4.0, but you still need to install .net 3.0. Hopefully, that should do the trick.

  • Thanks but i noticed that you assume we all know a lot of stuff about this. Some of us dont have newton 1 either. I think you should explain things about curved geometry, straight geometry, single force zones, and multizone forces

  • thanks for the help man

  • ...so the train doesn't disengage based on the length of it? Wouldn't it make sense that when more of the train is on the side of the drop than the other side, it would unhook?

  • You have an idea as to the friction coefficient should be to simulate the improved and/or original friction in the NL editor?

  • This is so confusing.

  • @michaelmfmills

Don't feel badly. It's definitely not for everyone.

  • How do I zoom/pan?

  • @thomasc42

Right-click the mouse over the view window to unlock the camera, then use the WASD keys to move around.

  • @TheRealEntropy uh thanks but how to you change a track segment into a lifthill when its allready been built? I just have a station a pull up a straight lift hill and a drop, but in a tracksegment. how do I change that? control X?

  • hey i recently got newton2 :) but how does the programm know its a lifthill section or a launch or a station or a brake?

  • @CoasterLab

You have to import it into the NL editor to change the segments into stations, lift hills, etc.

  • How do you change the segment types, either before or after importing the track? Very nice video though, i just wish i could finish my ride with a lift.

  • @euphorionium You change the segment type in the NL editor (consult the editor's help file to learn how).

  • @TheRealEntropy Thank you

  • how do i put it on nolimits?

  • this is WAY too HARD, i always get comfused with the angle bars! like which way to drag it? ,which one?, its freaking impossible.and also my lift ...how do you know its straight?mine wasnt at all ! can you try to make more simple tuts please.

  • Ok i'm having trouble with the lift. When I save the element and import to nolimits its just a piece of track, not lift. HELP!

  • @IzCoaster Transform button is your friend

  • when i try to import my coaster in to no limits it says error could not load. what should i do ? or is there any way to import it some other way ?

  • I know how to make a station, I know how to make the lift hill, I know how to make the drop, but how do I make it go up again without too many g-forces and also without going through the floor

  • for some reason the top wont straiten out. what's the deal?

  • Yeah, I'm having the same problem as rctpro. It looks like a whole row of 1 foot tall hills bunched really close together. I only get it at the bottom curve of the drop. I also got it while messing around trying to make some turns. Doesn't help if it doesn't work and it seems really helpful so...

  • @TeamApparition

If it's at the bottom of the drop, the track may be hitting the ground. Note that the track (including any control points) cannot penetrate the ground in the NL editor.

  • @TheRealEntropy Yup that was it. I forgot I made the drop lower than the station. Thanks.

  • I am confused, Entropy. I get like, these wavey jolts when I switch to No Limits. And I have been trying to figure it out... What am I doing wrong?

  • @Rctpro1234

The only time I've every experienced this is when the track in NoLimits attempts to go outside the boundaries.

  • @Rctpro1234

Not sure if this will help but In the NoLimits Simulator, try pressing F6 to toggle SHOCKS OFF. Perhaps there's more to it, physics wise, but before I disabled the shocks, it was as if my coasters were riding on a rutted or bumpy road.

  • In Newton 2, how does a user zoom or unzoom the staging area? Thanks.

  • @Argus054

In the 3D view, you move around by right-clicking the window and using A, S, D, W, and the mouse. In the top, side, or front views, you zoom in/out using the slider.

  • How did you get that curved piece at 1:24?

  • @worldman29isback

I just switched to the curved geometry tab.

  • There's a bit or a problem, on the first drop you have that strait point of track, I don't see a lot of good rides with a strait drop but with a curving drop, were in curves over the top on the hill and immediately curves to flatten out... Like millennium force... how the first drop is a constant curve not a long strait drop.....

  • @FunkyMonkeyMachine

Well, there should be an inflection point along the drop where the derivative of the transition coordinate goes to zero. Otherwise, there would be an abrupt change in the normal force. The example in the tutorial isn't meant to replicate the drop on Millennium Force, but I'd be very surprised if that coaster didn't have such a transition in some form.

  • thanks, that was a great tutorial!

  • How can I move like that on Newton 2?

    -.-

    I'm new on it

  • You right click on the 3D viewing area, and then you can use the A, S, D, and W keys to move around. You control the direction that you are looking with the mouse.

  • Thanks...!

  • Thank's for making a toturial. without your help it might take a long time for me to understand newton 2!!

  • Thank thats very helpful

  • WOW U ARE AWSOME!!!

  • you are amazing! i need to learn how to make a lift coaster. i started in newton 1 but i might start over in the amazing newton 2. great job
