In my mind the only difference are people who acknowledge facts vs those who believe in "magic" (as in a mythical freemarket) to solve everything.

I've not met anyone who calls themselves a "liberal" or "progressive" that believes the current government should take over everything and there should be absolutely no market.

However I've come across many calling themselves "libertarian" who seriously believe in NO government.
