  • I am pleased that Reagan is NOT in the White House today!

  • San Bernadino ``International`` airport??? What you going to do. Fly by Cessna to Ensenada?

  • It was used from The Kennedy to The Reagan Administration

  • makes u long for the days af competant leadership

  • I took my family to the library this past April to see aircraft 27000. They thought I was on crack and weren't too interested until they walked in and saw it. They were both speechless and in awe. I subsequently got an apology. They were grateful. It's something you just don't see unless you go after it.

  • The real Air Force One was numbered 26000. The new modified 747 version being

used today is registered as 28000. The backups were designated 27000 and 29000

respectively. Actually, any aircraft the President is on is Air Force One. From the

official plane to a Piper or a Cessna or whatever aircraft he or she may be aboard.

  • @GodivaGirl1 if i may 26000 is the tail number of the 707 that JFK used and 27000 was it replacement during Johnson term and 26000 became a back up, and 27000 in which Reagan used too and the two 747's are 28000 and 29000. i heard the other day that there been an ok to shop for new one to replave the 747

  • The greatest 707, president and AF1. All in one.

  • i was there....its pretty kool.....

  • planes are meant to fly not sit

  • @randomdaz Well THIS plane cant. One. Its an 707. 707s dont fly anymore. The A340 basicly took its spot. And Two. If this plane was to crash, it would be very very sd.

  • Im going here today! :D

  • The miles flown (211 missions) was during Reagan's term. Based on a 29 year career at about 80,000 miles per year, 27000 probably flew around 2 million miles or more during its flying days. A very distinguished aircraft.

  • I went to the reagen museum, it was very cool!

  • Dear All,

I have a question about sociology and politics:

*What does a Air-Force-One represent in terms of social values and politics?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

  • @applesweeter

it represents, never go to tyranny kind of thing, appreciate voices of either positive or negative rhetorics! And politically, it represents SECURITY..

  • it was 668,884 miles the air force 1 flew(i think around there)

  • That sounds about right - they have the total on the display but I can't remember what it said. It was a lot though !

  • Very nice and unsual display.

    Good idea for a museum.

  • I was in it 3 years ago

  • I wish Pres Reagan was in the White House to day

  • A skeleton?

  • LOL; you really made me laugh! haha

  • i like it really it's awesome.

  • this is best looking Air Froce One 707 RULES 1960

  • That was a great job to be on. The company i work for did all the rigging and hauling of AF-1.

  • I thought the Boeing 707, was Air Force 2?

  • Nope! Air Force 2 is for the vic President and first lady when they fly on their own. The VP get stuck with an old 707.

  • well theres 1 Boeing 707 and 2 Boeing 747s

  • They have other aircraft as well, The Boeing C-32, a variant of the 757, serves as Air Force 2 which is the usual transportation for the Vice President of the United States. The C-40 Clipper, a version of the Boeing 737, also serves in this role.

  • that is true, but the Boeing 747/VC-25s are the primary Air force One & 2

  • Any aircraft carrying the President, it could be a C172 and it would be Air Force One, the 2nd 747 is used as back up for Air Force One, let's say Obama flew somewhere, and the 747 he flew on, had a problem, they have the 2nd 747 which hopefully is working fine, which they can use as a substitute for the first 747 he flew on, and it can also be used as a decoy, having the two flying with each other, the same way they do Marine One, and the like 5 decoys with it, etc.

  • exaclly

  • I know my government, after all, I am against it, and of course I was in Army JROTC, and we learned all about this stuff.

  • if you ask me the government has too many lies and conspericies so i respect you for that sorry for any confuion

  • I agree.

    No problem.

  • its a 707

  • The Reagan Library is one of my favorite places in the whole world. I've been there 3 times.

  • So what kinds of things are in the library--all of his writings and so on during his presidency?

  • The GREATEST Pres. that ever lived....You are greatly missed dear Sir.

  • visited the museum in 2006 - i thought it was funny that both the plane and the chopper still had jelly bellies (reagan's favorites) in them.
