  • Ronson was a great guitarist/producer. Frankly, without him, Bowie's star would not have risen as it had. Admit it, David...

  • never saw this before!!!!!

    thanks!

  • SEXY !

  • wow, I remember this!

  • Frustrating how the sound is so low. oh well. still quite wonderful, very pure 20's style cinematography. and completely modern.

  • Remembering Mick Ronson today: May 26th, 1946 – April 29th, 1993

  • SLAUGHTER ON TENTH AVENUE...

    A LOVE STORY

  • seems to be recorded with a maccaferri guitar

  • why do legends have to die so young :(

  • Wow never knew this existed. Superb guitarist, great album RIP Mick

  • Gaga fans should see this

  • @laungdog they dont deserve it

  • 1:54 to 1:57 Fantastic shoes!!

  • the ad tag at the end is priceless

would love to see the 'clean' version

  • To me, Mick sounds a bit tentative about all this movie stuff. His real comfort zone was playing, singing, arranging, mentoring, but NOT as a front man. Still, this clip is a real time capsule. Suzi Ronson still looks great in 2010. 'Wish Mick was alive. He'd show those so-called musicians you see on MTV a thing or two!

  • Brillient Guitarist, need to see him live, saw him twice at the Rainbow, still got the programmes

  • awesome

  • I'm surprised that nobody got who Mick is kissing. It's his wife Suzy. Lookin good!

  • the full length version of this, overseen by Vanilla, may well be the first movie style concept pop music video, almost a decade before MTV arrived...

  • that's Mainman press queen Cherry Vanilla who throws herself at Mick in the early part of the video...what a blast from the past..whoever has this must also have "Wayne County At The Trucks" from the MainMan vaults..that's Cherry doing the voiceover at the end as well

  • Good god, man, where did you get this thing? This is practically historical. I never knew it was a concept album. RIP, RONNO, RIP!!

  • One of the best things I have ever seen on Youtube. I met him in his dressing room once and he signed my copy of the Slaughter LP, which I have framed.....what a legend, what a man...

  • I didn't know this existed. BRILLIANT!!

I miss Mick to, he was Bowies Main Man.

  • I have this album, my uncle had it in the attic and gave it to me for my birthday...

  • I miss you Mick!! There must one hell of a band in heaven!!! R.I.P. :0(

  • Love this...so pulp fiction. Mick we miss you and adore you!! Your music lives on....

    RIP

  • great upload :)

  • Mick Ronson was just 1 of those dudes as we say that got ripped off. The list goes on. But Man he was one bad ass ax and a show man and stood 2 the side while others glammed in the light that was also ment for him.A true team player. One day when all the tards wake up and realize Man.that swaying - jamming skinny Fker was an Angel fingered prick from god.then we can all relax.cuz N*g you R not gona see the likes of him in your life time unless you live 4 ever.and brown boy that aint gonna happen!

  • I come from the same city from Mick "Hull" I got rated the best guitarist since Mick Ronson in the City, I met Mick when I was 3 and he said to my Dad that I will grow up to be a great musician. R.I.P Mick!!! We will always miss you xxx

  • Mick was Rocking Roll Royalty. I wish you the best. Play Play Play!!!.Keep in touch.

  • Thanks man! It means allot to me for you to say that. You should come down here sometime and see some of the places Mick played and grow up in.

  • I am a Yank. From Boston Mass USA. Might B hard to get over there, But I would like to - Some day. The music scene here is OK. And Your Welcome my friend. Keep Rocking Man !!!

  • after 20 years I know this Ronson song, I realized it is a cover of a hollywod musical movie with gene kelly LOL

  • huge talent, in so many ways. such a loss. This man deserved to live.

  • Okay !! ised okay!!

  • Whenever I see and hear Mick, I get a lump in my throat - he was so natural and down-to-earth. That's probably why he didn't get the recognition he deserved. Play, Mick - you Don't have to Worry any more... You live on in our hearts and memories.

  • @8eatm0nster Problem is he was an extremely briiliant guitarist and arranger. People took ADVANTAGE of him too often. David Bowie was the biggest culprit, unfortunately. This seems to be an english trait. Luckily not for me, I was offered a deal and I told them to F**** off. I 'll set up my own company. No Sh*** deals here. RIP Mick man, I think the world of you!!

  • this film was overseen by then Mainman-er Cherry Vanilla...

  • ronco records

  • I love this album. Wow, it brings back memories! It's a beautiful album!

  • I saw his 1st solo gig at the rainbow theatre back in the 70s somebody nicked my vinyl of slaughter. It popped into my head the other day so thanx 4 this vid. I will be getting th cd soon. Nostalgia rules.

  • Loved Mick Ronson since my teens (46 now) the his albums but never know this existed...fantastic thanks for the post (RIP MICK and MISS YOU)

  • this is a very cool ass song

  • this song / album amazed me in the *70's

it hasnt lost it charm...the title cut is amazing

  • I'm with Oldox. Pity there's some queen bitchin' goin' on. Not a dot as entertaining as those guys who made the music. Go change your curtains & shut up! x

  • love this album

  • Well said Jayne , Lou told me Bowie took all the credit but Ronno wrote 95 percent of the actual music Bowie 5 percent and the lyrics but he took all the royalties Phil Wainman

  • Hence the change of music and why morrissey's Your arsenal sounds so 70's glam rock

  • Oh and a very sad sidenote. Bowie ignored Mick for YEARS untill he was laying in his death bed! He did the same thing to Cyrinda Foxx. Never lifted a finger to help her all those years. And she appeared in the Gene Genie video. Also Bowie makes like such a good friend of Cyrinda in his book of LIES! Cyrinda thought he was one big asshole and he was (is). The biggest phoney and thief on the planet. Not a nice person and I don*t care who the fuck gets mad at me!!! jayne county

  • Hi Jayne! Glad to see you here. First heard you on the Jubilee record in 1979. Tell me, do you know (personally) ANY "rock god" who is a normal human being? Seriously. Seems to me that regardless of how entertaining or inspiring they may be, they're all mad.

  • Love Bowie but agree, he did the same to Terry, his half bro !

  • David didn't do anything to his half brother. As far as I know, Terry was in a mental hospital, Cane Hill and killed himself walking in front of a train. David would visit him and give him clothes and things. I knew someone who worked there.

    Unless you know different?

  • He didnt go to Terry's funeral to my knowledge but did send flowers and a card with the words something like "you know more than any of us but all will be lost like tears washed away in the rain". I really dont know how many times he visited Terry but Pat had no time time for David. Anyway I love this Ronno album and still have it on 12", awesome stuff !

  • Oh my Isis! That*s me in the black wig. You can hardly make me out. I am also the prostitute in the black wig standing under the lamplight on the back of the lp. Leee Black Childers did the cover and Cherry Vanilla is in the video and did the voice over. A piece of rock history! WAYNE/JAYNE COUNTY

  • I have the vinyl, didn't know this existed! Many thanx indeed

  • I've waited 34 years to see this & opened an account just to say THANK YOU VERY VERY VERY MUCH!

  • One of my favorite songs of the late 70's.

  • jenna it is Mick's sister on the album cover...we bought it in like 1977,befo we left high school..

  • Many thanx for posting. About time someone let it out. Saw it last at the Ronno Memorial Concert Hammersmith Apollo. ATB

  • Shame on Mainman company - such a huge promotion, but they couldn't do a decent video. As a video, it's really poor - alas! As a little film starring charming fellow named Ronno - it's very much precious indeed.

  • What a lovely Hull accent.

    It's a love story..

  • Great vid

  • Interesting footage. I feel like I've seen it before a long time ago, but can't think where?

  • beautiful

  • Very cool - thanks.. I take it this is Mick Rock footage? It certainly looks like his work, and I see you've added his name as a Tag even though you don't mention him...
