awesome post man. i completely agree with you about being pro-active and helping other people to get your mind off yourself. I appreciate you posting this up, i think it will help a lot of people, including myself!
@nc0r0na4life No i developed it because i thought he was going to die. for instance, say someone told you that your parents have just been in a deadly crash, when you arrive there, and you see them there hurt, or in a stretcher you start thinking irrationally even though they may just have a broken arm....its kinda like that. My brain went into overload and it tripped me like my dad was really dying
You just helped me already, dude. I never loved my parents for the simple reason that I did not feel safe with them. As a result I grew up with low assertiveness, low self-esteem, small ambitions, a tendency to keep a narrow social circle and developed a stutter. But let's try to put the timescale into perspective here: Childhood lasts for 18 years. Assuming a life expectancy of 70 years, adulthood lasts for 52 years. So is an unhappy childhood an excuse for an unhappy adult life? HELL, NO!
Good video, I can relate to alot of this, especially being mad at the anxiety for preventing me from doing things I know I should be able to do, and things I used to do all the time without the thought in the back of my head... Good to see people can relate with one another
i think that it mite be different for eveyone, for me its not ever having a gf and intimidating kids at school. im 17 and a guy and its realy hard for me to stick up for myself. during the stress of bball i can hardly function and often mess up. so all these intimidating douches are givin me shit about mannin up and givin me dirty looks cuz i mess a play up. i take so much shit.. ughhh this happened tonite and my depression has turned into anger, which doesnt usually happen.. ughh help
@TheScreamingRetard i had the same problem but im a girl lol my advice; instead of bein scared experiment w/ urself even if yu get yur ass kikd itll change yu.in the 8th grade agirl known to beat the shit out of girls use to constantly bully me & its not like i did anything wrong to her she just saw the fear an took advantage me every day she wud purposely knock into me to provoke me to fight & i nvr did anything till 1 day i got so sick of it tht i turned around and yelled wtf is yo problem?!
you no ur soo right, when something happends like to ur family or someone u care about and loove social anxiety dissapears when my friend died infront of me i didnt care who was der, all i was finkin bout was him and wat happend lifes too short but yeh its back i cant get rid of my SA it just creeps bak thx 4 da video
thanks bro! This makes me see that sincerity is healing, and connection can be healing. Ones mindset is often a prison and so meditation/relaxation practice etc is one way out. Not all introspection is the same becuase some types of it actually open you out. But also probably your exercise helps I bet. Hey cool guru man in your all white robes! Keep it up. looking forward to more.
Gretat video ...i like your attitude / approach...i think anythign that helps us to reduce our focus on internal things does help on our road to recovery.
you hit me my life right on the head man, and thanks for this vid. its deff a helper, i hope that your doing well. im working through mine still. been this way for the past 6 years. but progress is progress.
my original comment was too long so i wasnt able to finish what i was saying but i was going to go on to say that this was a good video, and deffinitly helpful to anyone suffering from any kind of anxiety disorders who dont have a good handle of there illness. Keep up the vids :D peace.
You nailed it, Anxiety disorders are all about people having TOO MUCH introspection. As human beings for us to mature and grow mentally, we need to be able to examine ourselves but if you spend to much time in your own head thinking about YOURSELF too much then your gunna start worrying about YOU too much, thus anxiety disorders occur . Thats why your so right on about needing to help others, we NEED other people in our lives simply for the fact that we need a way to take our minds off ourselvs
I love the wide open and especially desolate areas. I often find peace in desolate areas.

You say you go to church. DO you have as much scrupulosity as I had before I came out as an atheist?

Very true. It's real simple. We just need to see it's ok to get out of habitual mode. Well said.
