I don't really like coyotes (they kill small dogs), but that was kinda awesome the way one of them was able to jump in the tree after that cat! :) I wish it had got the cat, but I think the coyote was young and inexperienced.

@NEBESHIKU More often than not, the cat wins this encounter. It's usually the inexperienced or the elder cat that becomes food. You do realize that Coyotes are also an invasive species as well right? Invasive is a relative term.

By your logic, I could say that cats are not invasive, since they are native to the planet earth. Where I am from, Texas, coyotes are invasive. This is not their native land. The creation of the interstate system is what has allowed them to cross rivers and such and migrate east.

@vex270 The coyotes attacked 3 of our lambs this morning. Had to shoot 2 of them as they were still alive even with their guts on the ground. Would you believe at 10 am! There will be no small farms left at this rate. Losses like this are unsustainable! Nothing is safe outside, day or night! The authorities here are USELESS! Yes feeding them lead is the ONLY answer!
sorry to hear to hear your livestock is suffering. we had one yote try to take a blue heeler pup off our back porch one time, and some try to lure our larger dogs to the back field. we dont have any small livestock, only horses, so we dont have the problem u have but neighbors have lost calves to them so i grab my calls and rifle and try to thin them out every chance i get
if i was you i would charge right at them and knock their heads off
