  • Fracing is proven safe. Wastewater issues are being resolved and the industry track record is excellent. Non-toxic frac fluid ingredients are also available now. NY and the US need the clean energy, the jobs, the tax revenue, and the economic activity. Shutting down fracing is foolish and short sighted. More than enough time and resources have been dedicated to examining this issue. It's time to drill and make no mistake they will. Why continue to sit on a century worth of domestic energy?

  • Does anyone know which 2 waste water treatment plants near Cayuga Lake were the destinations for fracking waste (as mentioned in the article)?

  • This is great stuff, Walter. Thanks for your service.

@5:45 : "There is not one horizontal hydrofracked Marcellus Shale well in NY State because of the de facto moratorium..."

I have heard from a source I consider to be reliable that Inflection Energy's Strong #1 in Owego was issued a completion permit before the moratorium, it is a horiz. well w/long laterals and was likely fracked Dec '10. If you want to check him out, I can put you in touch...

  • Every Upstate New Yorker Needs to hear this and Understand what Hydrofracking can do to our amazing water sources. Please pass this to everyone that you know. Talk to them, help them understand what has happened in PA, and will happen here if we don't stand together and fight against this horrible plan to drill into our shall. Stop them before we haven't any clean water left on our planet. Signed: Theresa A. Tambroni Hudgins
