  • Hah, and by "gig" you mean "morning worship"... which happens to be exactly why I'm watching this. Thanks for the explanation!

  • awesome tutorial thanks.

  • Thank you for taking the time to help those of us who can't understand manuals to well. or just hate them. You provide a smooth, easy to follow and clear understanding for me and my son to use our DB-90. Appreciate it very much.

  • you set "beat" to 4-4 [time] one what the boss manual calls "beat 2". If I set it to 4 on "beat 1". I get the same thing, 4/4 time.Do you know if there is a difference?

  • @sreiter11 I was wondering about this too. I think the setting [4-4] actually means two bars or 4/4.

  • Awesome tips and review. It's possible that someone has already asked, but do you use this metronome with acoustic drums? I am wondering if it can cut through with headphones.

  • Great Demo! the light button is a little tricky to keep it on not a big deal but awesome demo. Thanks

  • Whoever invented this device of torture should die.

  • my memory does not save, what should I do???

  • @frankmroberts, Hi, can you tell me how many own patterns can be stored in DB90's memory? 10? 20? or more? Thx in advance. You've made very useful video.. ;)

  • This is awesome! Super helpful! Thank you!

  • Good video, helped me alot! thank you, God bless! :)

  • reminds me of marching band practice!

  • Thank you very much for this video. I am thinking about buying the DB90 so me and my band can improve our live performance. Just checking to see if it is easy to use and your video makes me wanna safe some money!

  • Hillsong ^^

  • Nice Hillsong song in the beginning by the way. & thank you so much for the memory section of this video.

I needed that to program the song order for church tomorrow. I appreciate it!

  • Sorry I haven't used the DB90 to produce polyrythm patterns, however, I believe it could be used for that. At first blush I would say if I wanted to do that I would use my drum machine, only because it has more instruments to trigger and it would then be easier for me to hear it. I'm also not familial with the DB60's features, so its difficult for me to compare the two.

  • @frankmroberts これは使える?

  • @frankmroberts Hy!I have a question. Can you set this metronome to play one bar then not to play the second bar an so on an on?Sorry for bad english..i hope you understand

  • Thanks for posting this. I need a new metronome, and I hear that the Dr. Beat 60 or 90 have the ability to beat poly-rhythms. Is this true? If so, how can you do that? I would prefer to buy the Dr. Beat 60, just because it is a little less.

  • ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR ONE TWO THREE FOUR

  • Thanks for showing me the LIGHT!!!

(the 5 second default was killing me!)

  • can get an app on the iphone that is better than this, and costs almost nothing, like 2 dollars.

dont believe me ? thats ignorance for you !!!!!

  • Does it have odd time signatures?

  • Thanks for the video training. I just bought this model and you saved me much time. Is there a video showing the Boss 90 working with a mixer/etc when going live?? I'm a drummer and listen to the metronome and a song mix to practice with...:)

  • Don`t you happen to know if it`s possible to fix the DB90 battery lifetime? Because I`m forced to change a battery every 2-3 days and it`s kinda annoying. I`m getting through a hundred batteries a year. I think I should buy an adapter but anyway...

  • Nice demo. Can you disable the 'accent' chime?

  • I used the light and memory programming last night live and it was great! Thanks again.

  • frankmroberts, is there a way to set it to have two or more tempos per song? Some of my songs are all at one tempo, but a few aren't... is this possible?

  • @WizXX did you find an answer for this?

  • @WizXX It is possible, but you have to use the loop function. What this does play a desired number of measures at one tempo, then you can change it to a new tempo with a new number of desired measures. Each of which has to be programmed in a different memory slot. I do this all the time for marching band. Let me know if you need more detailed instructions on how to do this.

  • DUDE! I use this machine in live situations all the time but thought the instruction manual was rather ambiguous. Thank you very much! Very insightful!

  • how do you use this in a live setting?

    hooked up to the moniters?

  • We run the out from the DB90 into our Aviom system (in ear monitors). That way the band can hear the click track, but the folks out front can't. The cool thing about the Aviom is that each member can then mix there own monitor mix. In a practice enviromement I've also just plugged the metronome into the sound board. I've found this to be a valuable tool as a drummer, that way it is a little less like herding cats...

  • @frankmroberts This information is also very helpful to know as we use Aviom in our worship band. Thanks

  • Very useful!! Thanks! :)

  • Thank you. A friend gave me that sweet little machine, really helps practicing.

  • 66Ganon, I have been trying to find the answer to that for days. Fact is that these drummers who do these reviews must only play one tempo for each song in their sets. I have to wonder who writes the songs in your bands...does anyone have tempo changes???

  • Now I have one of these, just bought it. Is it able to have a setting to switch tempos at a designated time? Lets say im on stage playing to 220 and half way through the song it goes to 240. Can i tell this thing how many bars to do one thing and then switch the tempo without me having to press a button at all during the song? Thanks.

  • @66Ganon yes you can. you have to use the loop function. It takes a bit to load teach tempo change, but I do it all the time for Marching Band and other situations I practice/rehearse in. Let me know if you want me to explain.

  • Great instruction video, however... he does not mention it but if you look closely you have to release the power button before the light button if you want the light to remain on constantly. You will see a light bulb displayed above the accent. If you press AND release both buttons at the same time you will simply get the 5 second default light. Great video otherwise.

  • in live play, is this the one pro using? if not, what they are using? i want to get one for my boy a pro one. thanks

  • Are you able to use that live? It doesn't seem like its display would be visible enough.

  • In the video it does seem not bright enought, (since I took it in a bright room), however it seems to be bright enought in my current playing environment. thanks for asking!

  • That is why I showed how to turn the light on. Turning the light on helps a bunch. Sorry it is hard to see in the video...

  • @frankmroberts Excellent review!

Is the DB90 loud enough to be heard through headphones, in a gig situation? Does it cut through a rock band's sound? We need to use a metronome for our band, in order to use (sync) some loops and be right on time (maybe even using midi). We would like our drummer not to be dependent on the sound engineer for this, and we want to avoid using laptops etc.

  • Cheerrz M8, well described.... ;)

  • Ah, Dr. Beat.... the essence of my marching band days.

  • Especially when you have a director that plays it every second :l. Idk, maybe its cause im a freshman :l

  • Hosanna

    I like haha

  • good info! nice hillsong united intro and outro :) GBU !

  • the human voice is annoying but shoud be pretty helpfull.. any software with that option?

  • Boss should make this their official video

  • thanks for the light thing it really helps
