  • this is total propaganda. fake photos in order to imply that the massacre didn't happen or was not as bad. by editing a couple photos in a way that is obvious and sure to be noticed you can plant the seed in peoples mind that all the photos are doctored.

  • Yankees? Reuters is British. Sometimes people are morons and like to blame the US for the ridiculous actions of a individuals such as that disgraced and untalented photographer.

  • That is one of the worst Photoshop edits Ive seen, and I work with Ps everyday.

He used whats called a "clone stamp".

Basicly it takes a "photo" of a designated area in the picture and clones it.

Look on the smoke stack to the left, see the pattern in the middle ?

Its just that "photo cloned and layered over the picture.

    Really shabby work.

Really fucked up thing to do!!

  • hahaha yeah the total amateur editing job was enough to fire him

  • And a major media corporation fell for it, what idiots, they should close shop!

  • yes of course journalism is an individuals report

some twist facts others do not its a case of trying to filter out the bullshit

and the editing of the photos is disgraceful, a blatant attempt to make things seem worse than they are

this is much worse than a journo giving a biased view on something, because thats what the journo believes, its their view

but to edit a picture, which is a snapshot of fact is well out of order

  • As for the pictures, the BIG question is can we really trust ANY journalism? From what I have watched over the time, all journalism is biased. It's just a matter of choosing which truth you want to read/watch. I do not believe journalism is really independent, starting from the fact that every journalist has his/her own views over whichever issue they're reporting, and us readers see things through their eyes

  • We should not ignore the civilians that get caught in the cross fire, nor those people who lost all of their possessions. But we mustn't be biased against Israel either. We must remember that there is a group that repeatedly and cowardly attacks israeli civilians. If those coward bastards did not hide behind the lebanese civilians, Israel could fight a war against an 'army'

  • This is a textbook case of how the US media plays dirty. They did not like the photos coming out of Qana, Adnan Hajj, blatantly "cloned" smoke in an image of an Israeli bombing in Lebanon to not-so-subtly suggest that all of Reuters images from Lebanon might be faked and therefore that we should all ignore Israeli massacres in Lebanon.

it'd funny how easy ppl can get sucked in!!!!

  • good job. makes sense.

  • Reuters is not a US news organization. And yes, it is funny how people can get sucked into this foolish blame America for everything game, isn't it? Including yourself. I'm not sure why. Next to us, there's not a country more closely aligned with the US in the world.

  • To clarify, flares aren't used to deter missiles that use either radar or a laser to target your aircraft, because those do not follow a heat signature. Chaff is used instead.

And flares aren't entirely harmless...ever see lit flares behind you hit a dry tree? :)

Reuters...Jesus...this skirmish is bad enough...no need to try to make us more worried. I'm not Israeli or Jewish, but have friends that are that are (sounds weird) vacationing over in Israel and I'm scared as hell for them. :\

  • he was fired but the damage was done

    gg reuters cred

  • The photographer has been fired by Reuters.

  • Just to note, that journalist was fired and Reuters removed every picture that he had ever taken from their system.

  • it`s spelled....Y A N K E E S.....

  • yankis are gay

  • FYI, Reuters is british. You should look things up before you blindlessly start blaming the Americans.

  • What does that comment have to do with anything with this post? The war is between Israel and the Islamic fascist and Reuters is a British company. The only thing American here is this web site. You are gay and a bad speller.

  • Hmm. . .

  • Great work. Well done and thanks.

  • I first one could have been edited because of how the smoke multiplys and looks like it is flat but other than that I don't know about the other ones.

  • mmk. congrats

  • Am I missing it? The real pictures project a more severe image. Should the photographer be rewarded then?

  • Those arn't missels behind that F-16...their flares

  • let's put it more bluntly israfel. You guys are trying to discuss wether or not photos are fake or not, but can't even tell the difference between flares (flares are not weapons for they're for decoying ground to air missiles)and a missile launch. The "smokejob" is really amateur and can't have fooled anyone editing the shot so it must have been an editorial decision.

  • Most major media, especially that based in Europe or here in my "socialist paradise" of Canada seems to be biased against Israel.

The key is to recognize the fact that most reporters (especially tv) are IDIOTS who are hired for their looks and not for their skills.

YouTube offers us the ability to draw our own conclusions.

  • It's not just Muslims, everyone associated with the political left, the DNC and all their causes have been doing this for years. CBS, NBC, the New York Times, NPR... all have been caught numerous time forging documents and making up stories. Only difference now is there are people with the ability to expose them now.

  • F-16 "missiles" are actually anti-IR-missile flares. Fighters like the 16 can pop dozens of flares and look up "c-130 flares" for amazing videos.

the smoke thing is weird, though

  • Yes, you're right, combat aircraft have for a long time been eqipped with flares to prevent infrared missiles (such as SAMs, Air-to-Air missiles etc) homing in on them. It's commonplace for pilots in a warzone to bang flares out like there is no tomorrow. They are completely harmless.

  • I will NEVER trust Muslims and their enablers-Reuters.

  • You're a racist Zionist Supremacist.

  • Pallywood

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_B1H-1opys

  • Muslims will do EVERYTHING to make the world pitty them - lies, made up "facts", false propaganda, fake pictures, fake article, etc. The Palestinians are an excellent example. Just check out this video

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_B1H-1opys

or search youtube for the term "Pallywood".

  • He was a photographer who they paid for a lot of photos - and when reuters found out, they took all his pictures down.

  • Media are in it for the money, not the truth always. This just goes to show that statement is true.

    Can't believe everything you hear

  • Nice video, those guys got owned.

  • Let me get this right, if something blows up on July 24th, it should no longer be destroyed on August 5th? I'm confused. Also, Reuters itself didn't doctor the first two photos, they have already apologized.

  • Yeagh, that old muslim lady owns TWO houses. One got destroyed in July and then the other got destroyed in August... riiiighht!

The distortion is starting to really smell.

  • What's sad... is that these people are supposed to be professionals... I can do better photoshopping in my SLEEP...

  • Thanks for bringing this to the publics attension if otherwise not. Good work.

  • it was so obvious. he is HORRIBLE at photoshopping.

  • Reuters have actually ceased to work with Hajj, the photographer who took these shots.

The "missles" you see on here, are not missiles, they're CME. Counter Measure flares.

Fired when a SAM (surface to air missle) gets a lock on to the aircraft, the CME's are fired to confuse the tracking system of any missles fired.

  • The entire Qana event is under suspicion. Hours have passed between the bombing of the building and its collapse, why were people there?

Well, they weren't. Bodied were brought from a near Hizballah evacuation center.

Who manages the center? The man-with-helmet, shown displaying the body of the same baby for several hours.

Hizballah studied the Media behavior, and made good use of them. An incredible lesson in modern warfare, where results are sometimes determined by a single picture.

  • either way i am on israels side. they have been messed with by hezbollah and other terrorist (am i the only one that still calls these guys terrorists?) sects for decades. now it has happened that israel is finally pissed and they are doing something this world is shocked to see... they are actually DEALING with it, god forbid.

  • Photoshop happens.

  • Yes he has been fired for his doctored photo's, it seems it is up to the average person to keep them honest, it is sad. http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/archives/2006/08/reuters_fakes_beirut_photo_after_exposed_by_blogs/

  • Shame for reuters , i m moving to AP

  • You can't trust no one these days.

  • "you can't trust ANYONE these days"

  • yeah it's annoying enough that it shows flares, not merely that it's doctored. whenever i see reports from lebanon or iraq where the intent is to portray the air campaign as brutal, they select footage of planes dropping flares. they're either clueless or they take us for fools. flares are DEfensive not Offensive. they do the same thing talking about use of "smart" or "laser guided" weapons cause they sound more evil than bombs that would miss their targets and kill the wrong people

  • Yeah rebeast is right those are coutermeasure flares being dropped from the F-16. There might have been a missle fired at the jet but those are not the missles they are dropped from the belly of the jet...

  • yeah - rockets are not shot inrapid sucsession, otherwise they interfear with each other and flares are to give off a large heat signal to through off missles.

  • I haven't even heard of Reuters before :P

  • It's just one of the biggest mediaconglomerates in the wolrd, so it's only normal that you haven't heard of them before if you live in the US.

  • The F-16 is dropping a single flare, not firing missiles.

  • I disagree with the comments regarding photoshop. Any photojournalist worth his salt would not manipulate pictures for any purpose other than restoration.

  • Haji is not worth his salt, then. Wake up to the smell of coffee tolongges.

  • I believe this guy's been fired.

  • this is from the same organization that refuses to call Islamic terrorists "terrorists."

  • this is the strategy of terrorists. i saw a very brief clip on CNN (anderson cooper) that i haven't found since, where hezbollah told the press to film as they drove empty ambulances around in circles. they asked the press to report that the ambulances couldn't keep up with deaths. cooper was like ok i didn't promise you anything. where is the outrage? this is a media war. people are being SUCKERS

  • Exactly. People are getting played in a media war because they believe everything they see on TV. You couldn't trust TV when it first came out, much less now....

  • muslims who don't speak out against terrorism and terrorist organizations like hezballah, are just as evil as the dirty, filthy muslims who kill in the name of allah

  • Roto- Reuters is Going Down the Drain!

    My question is...

WHY DID THE PHOTOS GET PAST THE EDITORS? THEY ARE OBVIOUS FAKES. LOOK AT THOSE CLOUDS MY GOODNESS. AWFUL!!!

    There are only 3 possibilities:

    1. REUTERS staff are incompetent

    2. REUTERS staff are willing accomplices in misleading the public.

    3. REUTERS staff actually took part in the doctoring of photos.

Any of these is reason enough to dismiss REUTERS.

  • isnt it funny how the lebanese and palestinians have to fabricate evidence ("israeli" shelling of gaza beach that killed pally's - which turned out to be fatah) whereas the israelis are honest and show everything as accurate as they can. Never trust a dirty moslem named mohammed

  • well, yeah, gosh, you make perfect sense !! congrats on sharing some of your insights, lol !!

  • ouch.... caught!

  • Give the guy a break. He is learning new software. Photoshop isn't easy. The war is bad. But why do you think the guy is trying to make it look worse than it is? Could it be any worse than it is? War sucks. Everyone should learn Photoshop. It is a good skill to have, but it takes time.

  • I lived in Cali hanging out with Brooks students for a year, and I've seen a lot of techniques to clean up photos in PS. The differences in photos in this vid are not "clean up" or mistakes from learning new software. Well, ok, maybe it was that, but they were mistakes trying to exagerate the photo, NOT mistakes from cleaning it up. Why would you defend a crook? He wanted photos that would make front pages so he could get more money for them.

  • the Lebanese photographer was sacked by Reuters for manipulating the images.

  • So you see what the media is capable of doing... Don't believe anything they tell you in CNN about Israel.

  • This is why the old media is dying. We hae an army of truth monitors to validate your agenda driven content. You can no longer spoon feed what you want us to see. So long old media.

Your link is missing a letter. the X at the end.

    Good work.

  • Dan Rather would be Proud of Hajj.

  • Thank you to all those who help spreading the truth! You are doing a great job defending the free world.

***STOP the brain-wash! Free your mind!***

  • Both the smoke and "missile" images have been pulled by Reuters, as have over 950 other Adnan Hajj photos. Please encourage Reuters to publish all of the photos to allow for independent scrutiny. Don't just bury these, Reuters.

  • bristolstudent, How can you be so sure these faked photos are the only ones? I think there are more diseruptions and lies in Reuters photos or reports.

  • When exposing yourself to any media outlet, be it the news on tv, CNN, newspaper, or online media, one must always assume that you are either being tricked or not recieving the whole truth. When I see a pic of a guy crying over a dead baby, I assume the baby could be plastic, a week dead, or the tears are just eye drops. There are more ways to fake a photo than photoshop, and you should expect it.

  • yup, good point !!

  • Hezb'allah has surrounded themselves with civilians with one purpose in mind. To see them die. Hezb'allah has murdered every civilian that has died in this contact, for they planned their very deaths in advance.

  • Good job. Reuters said they will no longer use any of Hajj's photos, and he gave the lamest possible excuse saying that he was trying to get rid of the dust in the smoke picture and might've accidentally screwed up the pic. As a friend of mine said, "if you can't trust a douchebag called Adnan Hajj, who CAN you trust?"

  • must invastigate into this

  • And obviously these are the only ones, right?

  • These photos are clearly doctored to increase the shock value, but I would also like to remind you of the reality of this war is still going on and is deplorable which can be still seen in the original unedited photos.

This incident is NOT unique all news media will sensationalise and portray many events with an agenda in mind.

  • Is this Dan Rather?

  • Also see this:

  • I am asking you (this film maker) to conduct an object review. now reuters don't know how to do it journalism work!!!
