  • I purchased a Power Painter to paint two rocking chairs. We sanded them and I used the painter to Kilz both of them. It was loud and the result was unsatisfactory. The painter would shoot a fine mist then ruin it with drops and globs. When I tried to paint the chairs with an acrylic paint the same thing happened. I used the paint right out of the can (completely stirred) and diluted to several levels in the hope a more viscous paint would help. This thing is going back to Home Depot today.

  • hi Pool guy. I am a painter and we use machines that are $5000 and we still get spits and globs. There is another thing that comes in handy and that is to strain the paint before use even if it brand new. Strain your acrylic (water based) paint with an old stocking. it takes some time to strain and the stocking will strech. this is heaps better than using a soming like a tea strainer that you see in paint shops. if you get blobs just wipe them off with your finger and re touch it up.
