Avchd codec 24Mbs are the top. HDV is 25Mbs but you must use mini DV. if you wanna more you have to go to other codec like XDCAM DVCPROHD more more expensive than this.

I just got that cam and heard that capturing on avchd is a bitch. What has your experience been as I am awaiting my shipment?

You need a computer more powerful than for other formats. Video quality with this bit rate is like HDV

@filenstyle I've read it only can do 24MBits max. That would be a shame, I guess :(
