  • drip irrigation is a great idea. Be aware of algea buildup inside the barrel. I had to drain mine to prevent that, but painting the outside might help.

    hey, did you check my lenz design at instructabels?

  • The barrel is connected to a garden hose, but will soon be connected to a drip irrigation system with a battery powered timer. The flexible pipe can be disconnected from the barrel and reconnected to each other, bypassing the barrel for cleaning.

    What would I add or do different?

    1. 3/4" full flow valve from the start

    2. Use a 55 gallon barrel

    3. Cut the downspout a bit lower

    4. Add a filter onto the barrel output

    6. Don't procrastinate, just do it, it's easy.
