You are a great piano player and it is easy to read music. You just have to get the hang of it. There is a few websites to learn notes on piano easy. It's still pretty hard to learn but it helps me in school a lot. It makes your brain work in a different way than usual. YOUR REALLY GOOD!!!

Is it hard to play by ear that way? How long does it take?

@Antz7Freak For me, it is not hard to learn songs by ear. I have a pretty good knowledge about keys and figuring out what key the song is in. It'll take me about 2 days to know how to play a song. About 2 weeks to master it.

It really is hard work, and it is often frustrating when trying to figure out the melodies for the first time. I wish I could read the notes...it would make it a lot easier. @hislovegushesthrough I listen to the songs while sitting down at the piano. then i can figure out what key it is in and in this case its D major. I use the chords to help me figure out the melody.
