3 in sweden dont have the same offer only DataPrepaid cost 199 swedis kronor and 7 days data 3 call it "free data" its not free the have trafic limted on 20 gb,, 1 m cost like 299 swedish kronor i have the e150 modem and the e367 modem e150 has alot off bugs in the softwaer the e367 has minnor bugs i use the tiny router works great on huawei modems the zte modems dont work so god the stop to work after 2 days
nice one mate, thats realy helpful. Have you looked at fon / fonara? Its a box you attach to your wifi and create its own small wifi-hotspot. the idea is that you keep your wifi on (plus this box) and go out. so long as your wifi is on, you can have access to everyone elses including all the BT-fon connections. theres thousands of those. Is a 1 time payment. i dont work for them so anyone readying this please search for it. I'm thinkng of getting one as an alt to 3g dongle.
Great video. It's kinda sad seeing you talk about 800kbps download speed being rubbish when where I am at in the USA, my top download speed is 125kbps with no alternatives.
That is quite handy to know about. What a pity BT couldn't fit some sort of hub in each street for people to use. Phone lines were never designed for broadband data, only narrow bandwidth speech, so they do quite well as many are 50+ years old! There are far cheaper packages than £14 a month for low data users, but this addresses the slow download speeds.
I might consider this for my nan who will be getting her first laptop soon, I always thought prepaid data other the mobile network was extreme but your right I don't imagine they will be streaming 24/7
Excellent video with all the relevant information and no waffle, and very clearly explained. This is very useful for me because although my Virgin Media Cable home connection is soon to be 100Mbps, once I move house I might have to leave their service and rely upon something else. The last thing I want is to use an ADSL service, so this very flexible and portable package detailed in your video is a good option. The only downside for me apart from speed is the bandwidth download/uoload limit.
Ideal solution for me too. Seen those but never thought about this. I am messing around with linux and 3G modem. Those things are like cats and dogs-some have them friendly. :D
My only suggestion for the slightly paranoid or nerdy amongst you is to kill WPS (some questions about it's security), change the standard admin password on the ZTE and give it a much longer WiFi password. Otherwise great for those with a whiff of 3G reception.
Fantastic video, have you thought of trying to get a job with BBC Click, I am sure you would do a much better job. You explain things in a easy to understand manner. Thank you. :)
@Dhintheman NO! His much better than the crap that Click spews onto the air, that program always infuritates me with its people should protect themselves for phising and then not actually stating some simple steps to avoid being a victim.
My mum uses a similar router because she's in a remote area. No adsl at all, but she get's a couple of bars of 3G signal from the towers along a near by highway.
great video! you going to review the new 1080 HD 808 cam coming down the pipes!? theres a thread on facebook about it and it looks like its going to out soon!

Worth pointing out - you can get "12GB sims" for three on ebay for £40-50, and 18Gb six month sims for as little as £20.
