It's an art form that has been around for ALOT of years.

It started out with what mainly Madonna did back in the 80s but then grew into a more complex state called "Dramatics"

That was a vogue battle at a ball between Katrina Ebony (The one in red) and Tia Jourdan Zion (The girl in white)
