  • REO vocals, Terry Lutrell, Kevin Cronin, Mike Murphy, or Bruce Hall? Gary Richrath, an amazing guitar solo in this song. Wow fantastic

  • I have this album and all of them up through the sellout (AKA Hi Infidelity) on vinyl.

  • how can i get this cd?

  • You can find it on I-tunes.

  • @Slackykid123

I got it at Amazon.com as a double CD with REO TWO

  • The ONLY REO LP! well......perhaps TWO also....but from there.....suck ass!!!!!

  • So glad my mom has their "Essential" cd

  • this is REO at their best.Kevin Cronin ruined a great rock band with his love ballads. He even has the nerve to tour and call himself REO with no original members in the band, including him.For one thing,no Gary Rickrath-no REO.case closed....

  • @TheJohnnymasters Neal Doughty is an original member and has been in the band since day 1, but yes Gary is missed.

  • @TheJohnnymasters Neal Doughty is still in the band and he is the only original member left.

  • R.E.O. TWO ,BY FAR BEST ALBUM, LIKE YOU DO ,BEST DAMN ROCK SONG TO GET YOU GOING ANYTIME, GOLDEN COUNTRY BEST LONG SONG OF ALL TIME,THOSE LYRICS ARE SO DAMN GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sweet thang!

  • Always thought this was their best album.

  • I agree!

  • I bought this in 1971 and loved the whole thing,I never really cared for the later version of REO Speedwagon, Back then bands made real music and took chances experimentally, you can't find classics done this way anymore.

  • Great song, I wish there was a live video of it out there!

  • Saw 'em at the Stone Hearth( Madison) Fall '71 The album was done They Kicked it

  • the whole LP is on itunes now

  • That's great! It's about time!

  • @rickyon absolutely.in fact all 6 of those hard to track down LPs (this one ,T.W.O.,ridin the storm, lost in a dream, this time we mean it, and REO) are there finally

  • @wart76 too bad itunes is for children and invalids :(

  • Love this album

  • I have this album

  • Great riff, I had this LP in the early days and it still Rocks!!

  • best reo album. still have original. next best is Lost In a Dream.

  • I have the original yellow Epic Records issue!!! Killer album. My fave song: Five Men Were Killed. (Morbid title,to be sure.)

  • Their first album is their best, certainly rocks the hardest

  • another I was there story......

I saw REO several times at hs sock hops in 71 and 72 just before the first lp came out.

ni the summer of 72 I was back home in Ft. Wayne and heard REO was coming to The Lantern. I called up my friend Mark in Arlington Hts, who had 1st turned me on to REO, to invite him down.He said they were quite the same.

    I asked how come?

Well, they have a new singer.

    So, whats he like?

    Well............he smiles a lot...........

  • Sounds like the Doobie Brothers.

  • So nice to see others out there who actually know about this! You wouldn't believe how many people still think "Hi Infidelity" was their first LP! This is an amazing song, real raw! REO's been my fave band since I was fifteen, and I still love them, and this song! Too bad they don't play it live anymore! I'd love to hear Kevin Cronin singing it :)

  • terry lutrell was a better vocalist

  • they played the Northern Wisconsin State Fair and snded up at my brothers house to relax before the show because he lived a block away he met them working with the catering service...he didn't tell me until they left town...what a dick!

  • heard this for the first time on KAAY little rock arkansaw Beaker Street and went to the Truckers Union the next day and had them order the LP for me...fun times

  • fuckin a

  • heh, sounds like deep purple... Good stuff :D

That guitar solo is soooo awesome :D

  • I have always thought the debut REO album was VERY DAMN GOOD!! And very underappreciated! It was good to see it finally get released on CD last year!

  • Hey Jeff, that's great news because I got that USB turntable that also has a jack to convert cassettes but my Vinyl copy is missing and my cassette copy was broken. I'll go out and get the CD right away. Thanks for the info and I agree the debut album not only is VERY DAMN GOOD it is my favorite REO album!....Rick

  • Uh, hard to pick a favorite but, the first one is right there with REO TWO for sure!!

  • Good Rock'N Roll album!!!!!!!, I buy the REO Speedwagon's first almbum without knowing it because I began to listen to this wonderful music in december of 1983 and after the success of Hi Infidelity and Wheels Are Turnin ' I am a big fan of REO Speedwagon, I collect his album, cassettes, VHS, CDs, DVD...Well my collection is not the biggest but it is very special for me because I love the REO Speedwagon's music from 1971 till now...by the way i love Dead At Last!!!and Anti Establishment Man!!!

  • Yeah I love this album myself! I have the vinyl but don't have a way to convert it yet. This was the only song I could find on I-Tunes. When I get a USB turntable I'm going to put up more of this excellent album.

  • I have the vinyl too but I don't have a way to convert this album but a good friend of mine gave me a copy that I saved in several formats I can't miss this excellent album to listen every time!!!here are places where they make it but I do not give this album because is an album collection!!!, You know what? last year it released on CD along with REO / TWO!!!!!!!

  • Great rock and roll album. Man, I haven't heard this song in probably 25 years. I did see it live about 10 times though. Love the 70's

  • mesa, if you saw this song live about 10 times as you stated, where did you see them and who was the lead singer?

  • Why does this concern you? Terry Lutrell was the singer, as if you didn't already know that. As if it means anything, I

've seen them at Carmel High School twice, Carpentersville High, Nowhere In round Lake Beach, Some burned out barn in Algonquin opening for 5 Man Electrical Band and on and on.

  • Mesa it does concern me....I go back when the first LP came out. I believe your comments. But lets admit, the're are people out there that say "yeah yeah I remember REO back in the day">>>>and most of them are damn liars. So just checking...have a good day.....
