I looked up this "heart-brain" concept, just like he said, and all I could find were pseudoscientific articles poorly written and with vague references like "McCraty, 2004". Checking the references usually lead to more pseudoscientific rhetoric, aimed at selling products no less. Marketing. Look, the fact is, the Brain and Spine are the central nervous system, and where emotions and experiences are processed, not the heart. This is a prime example of confirmation bias.
@CMO999 That's funny it seems that you know more than Rollin McCraty, Ph.D., Raymond Trevor Bradley, Ph.D. who are the authors of the article THE HEART HAS IT'S OWN BRAIN.
How about you know more than Armour who introduced this concept ?
IT ACTUALLY SEEMS THAT YOU LACK AND SCIENTIFIC REASONING AND SPEAK BIASED WITHOUT ANY PROOF. How did you look it up? I think you don't know how to make research.
@JibreelK Yes I looked it up. What they are saying is that the heart is influenced by many things such as emotions, for example if you get scared your heart rate will increase. They are not saying that your heart has emotional centers in it or anything like that. Of course there are complex neural pathways between the brain and the heart to facilitate this functionality.
Did he just say the heart is the most complex organ in the body? Hmmm.. it's been well known for quite a long time that emotions happen in the brain. The heart serves the important function of moving blood to deliver oxygen and other necessities to the various organs. It's still used as a metaphor for the center of emotions, but this guy seems to not realize that it's just a metaphor.
mashaAllah love the lecture !! :) MAY ALLAH REWARD you
