Shudder- how many times we would come in the house after playing outside(when kids did this) and we would moan and groan when we would here any excerpt from this program. How in the would did it stay on for so long?? Was it the guy in the gray sweater doing the news? The unhappy married couple who threw things at each other? The cornfield session with poorly written jokes? Pickin and grinnin? The guest singers?
My favorite "Where oh where" is when Archie sings: I had eight kids and you had eleven, we had six more just a bloomin' like flowers, I wish you'd come back and help me my darling, Your kids and my kids are beating up ours.
This great show is on the RFD TV station if you get Dish Network. Not sure about Directv or any of the cable companies. I love them. Sort of wish Laugh in would come back too.
@903davesharonpoky thanx for the heads up. I have DISH-TV. it's channel 281. I'm sure it's probably on Direc-TV and cable outlets too because it's included in the lowest level of programming on DISH. I would suspect it no charge to the broadcaster.
I'm not really into country music, but MAN, that is FUNNY!!!! I admit, I used to watch HEE HAW when I was young. Back when country music had some class. Anyway, I used to laugh my ass off when they'd do this bit. Never missed it.
I was laughing my ass off a minute ago watching this!!!!!
Oh, my parents used to make me watch this because it was on before The Dukes Of Hazzard! This was one of about 2 or 3 segments I could stand watching.
Archie Campbell and Gordie Tapp. two of the greatest "country comedy" writers and performers of all time. "where oh where" and "gloom. dispair & agony on me" are still classics.
and Archie as "Doc Campbell" with Gunilla Hutton as "Nurse Goodbody" was classic burlesque style comedy.
My mom would NOT miss this show at all!! It was her favorite TV show!! If she had to be gone for some reason, then she would make my dad record it and then she would watch it as soon as she got home!! I got into the show after Marie Osmond and the Osmond Brothers were on there at one time or another!! My mom still wishes that it would come back on the air, but not around here anyway!! I wouldn't mind it either!!
@starladodge4 lol. my grandparents had to move from tennessee to florida, due to them getting older etc etc. they had 2 questions. was there a baptist church near by? and, did hee haw come on every saturday night? those were deal breakers.
i think gordie tap, lulu roman, gailand sartain, and roy clarck are still living dont' know about the hee haw honeys pretty much everyone else has passed.
This is quite possibly the best song ever written.

@JenniferPresents The skits are good but their musical guests were generally something to leave the room for.

Trying this again . . .
Sing it like Gordie and Archie, folks!
We'd all like to see Hee-Haw back on TV
It's been too long it's been off the air
Too much of the cast has bought the old dirt farm
There's no one left who can sing "Where O Where"

@Wrestlegamer Of course you can be funny without being rude or crude. Frankly, I think there's a place for "rude and crude" humor as well.
