i've used the YPAO setup and love it. it works a treat but it seems to be something to do with the many settings the amp boasts and the subs settings. i've tried messing with the crossover hz and sub level on the amp and sub, and someone suggested that the sub level is too high and it cuts out because it's too much for it too handle. turned it down and it worked a treat...for a while then cut out again. sent it to richersounds and they had it tested for 4 days and found no problem. any help?
just one thing though, i've had problems with my eltax atomic subwoofer. i know it's a level entry and basic one but it has done the job and done a great job at that. only, it has been cutting out sparingly and not isolated to any input/decoder. playing tv through an optical cable or mp3's on my ps3 through hdmi, it cuts outs..the bass goes and it's noticeable. i then turn the vol up and the bass pops (and makes a like scratching noise) and then kicks back in. any thoughts, any owners?
i love my rxv 667! this is my second yamaha av receiver and i can't get over the amount of options and settings and inputs it has! it is a beauty and a must for anyone. i had a sony and other another one before i traded them in for this and i have been thoroughly pleased. and it's got 6 hdmi's and is future proof; 3d tv ready.
Call me stupid, call me slow.. but it took me a year of owning this receiver to figure out why my $800 subwoofer sounded like crap. It was loud but not booming loud like it can be. My other sub ( yes two subs ) sounded OK but it was brand new so i didnt know what it was capable of. Anyway, i ran the ypao to calibrate everything at first setup. I recently did it again because of new speakers i got and found that it had the subwoofer db level turned all the way down! Now my house shakes!
@xxsekoxx I'm running this receiver, with a full 7.2 surround sound setup. My center, surround, surround back, and sub speakers are Focal Sib Cub's. My front left and right speakers are Klipsch - Icon 6-1/2" 2-Way Floor Speakers Kf-26. And finally, my second sub-woofer is an (oldie but goodie) 12" Miller & Kreisel VX-4. And i cant forget my Samsung 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz LED HDTV UN55B8000. hmmmm All this talk has led me to go and watch Transformers 3! Cheers.
The V667 is an awesome receiver, man! I have mine for only a few weeks and I'm totally amazed. And that is with an entry level speakers (S426 5.0). I hope to upgrade my system with a C407 pair for a 7.1 setup. But that the Yamaha is just a kickazz receiver!
By the way, the banana plugs you use are Nakamichi, am I right? :)
that's a decent setup man. i've getting mine sometime this week. my sony strd h810 was playing up so decided to get this yamaha model. i can't wait. on screen menu's, yamaha's easier to navigate, great sound. should be good. do you own a wii? can you put a component cable from the wii through this and just have a hdmi lead to tv?
Hi, this sounds really good mate. I am looking at doing something similar for my room with the PC. I like the amp and the speakers will be B&W's. I was wondering what you are using to connect your PC to the amp? Thanks!

@LordSod
just by it saying HDMI 1 on the amp, id venture to say hes running off his HDMI port on the comp.
