  • OOOOOOOOOOOH.....MAN THIS IS GREAT..AND GREAT..

  • What a beautiful song!!!

See how nice, all the comments given.why in the world new singers can't produce such a classics now.

  • well, all in all it's a great relief to know that still, a lot of ' sensible ' people out there. if Naushad Ali personally liked this, then Clarence Wijewardana, the most underated & unappriciated musician by our ' pundiths ' , yet did too many wonders to Sri Lankan music needs no more justifications as a composer & an arranger. the story i heard from Clrarence was, the producer wanted Jothipala to sing this. Also notice, the unmistakable tone & style of Dixon Gunaratne's guitar licks, thanks.

  • Memorable song whish is sung by Milton perera...!Thx for posting these hidden jems of the past..!

  • The way she was fluttering her eye lids I could see how scared she was of being with that guy.

  • @lumalive yeass

  • Ah this is my most favourite Milton Perera song.

What a brilliant melody by Clarence.

When the great Naushad Ali of India heard this song , he had asked whether the music was composed by a classical musician, & had even played it on his instrument. And the fact that Clarence was more bent on the western style of music, just shows his versatality. Thanks for the video.

  • @Chrisanthie

    Dear Crishanthie,

Thanks for the comment and info re Naushad, I too knew about it from Milton Perera at that time.

The Director H D Premaratne's idear was to give this song to Pundit Amaradeva.

But Clarence Aiya insisted that this should be sung by Milton, the creator of the melody knows better.

The Acress is Sweenitha Weerasinghe. Earlier she was Abeysekera and Kongahage too.I think she was married to Tissa Abeysekera the famous Director of Mahagedera film. Vijaya Joe Abeywickrema and Alexander Fdo too acted in the Film. This was Clara's first music directions for a film, all songs were hits

  • Palitha,

Excellent contribution once more and its true that Suweenitha married to Tissa then became Abeysekara. She was later married to Sarath Kongahage who was a Provicial council member in Central province in the late 80s, then became Suweenitha Kongahage.

    regards

    Vidhura

  • for those who are Suweenitha fans. Her 1st movie

was "Suhada Divipiduma" in which she acted in a dance song "maalu maalu meda"

Her 1st lead role was in "Sudu Sandey Kalu wala"

    Both were Robin Tampoe movies
