  • Why does this look too good to be true.

  • Someone forward this video to the Creative Director of Pixologic.

  • Zbrush killer !...lol!

  • More Autodesk crap, even Maya sucks

  • @Blitfast y u think that sux?

  • I tried it for a couple seconds before going back to zbr

  • Or just get a tablet and Zbrush

  • you would need to do so much prep work on this on a computer before you bothered sculpting that it renders this pointless. That program (or rather using it on the ipad) is nothing more than combining pre made elements and stencils from other applications. Shame really as I was intrigued.

  • If I had an iPad this would really come in handy...

  • you kidding me !!!!!

  • So this will replace zbrush.....?

  • @transpvision

I second this, I am a PC fanboy myself, but my college macs run maya way smoother than my gaming pc.

  • but .. will it blend ?

  • whats the point of having this?

  • @MangaArtFanBoy u can maybe open it on mudbox or zbrush

  • And it only cost your 3 grand, or a yr cost of 1 grand.. autodesk.. is the 1%

  • I won't lie. That is awesome! But how long do you thin this will last before Programs like ZBrush and 3D-Coat start using this for themselves? I doubt it'll be long before companies like Wacom with Cintiq and Genius, among others start thumping out finger touch pads which may not require the programs to be so adapted. A touch screen I/O would cost far less that an all-in-one comp like iPad.

  • Wow that's genuinely shit!

  • you can't even make a simple cube in a real 3D program. that's a sure thing brah.

  • Not For Android?

    *Clicks Youtube Home Page*

  • so lame

  • It seems one could roughly block a form and visualise a client's idea in real time, but that's all about it. And I rather doubt any client would be patient enough to prefer this over receiving a mail with WIP shots.

On the other hand, perhaps Autodesk's making a move to win some Mac users. But I doubt many would prefer a Mac when PCs are fully capable of anything and are instantly repairable/upgradeable.

  • Dear Santa. will this work on a Samsung zoom tablet as well? or just on ipad?

  • I want this :@

  • Well.. this could be something you could do for fun while driving for a long tome or something.. but otherwise it's pretty much useless :S

  • Damn I been waiting for this! But why the hell is it always Iphone/Ipad that gets everthing first, Android is so far ahead of apple. Apple just live on their brand nothing more! Now make this an android version plz.

  • pointless if no android version available!

  • piece of shit

  • So it's like sculptris for ipad. #useless #shouldBeOnICSButItsNot

  • This is even more pointless then Ipad itself lol

  • can it export FBX? No!

  • @DJEddieStar LOL.. that pretty much summed how much of a fail this is.

  • I love you Autodesk.

  • How many polys does it support?

  • why does everyone say this is pointless? it's actually quite fun if nothing else

  • jesus christ how horrifying

  • and where are tits?

  • Painting / drawing / sculpting on an iPad is like randomly scribbling with a really blunt crayon. Very imprecise and rather frustrating - even with a stylus. Some apps try to overcome this limitation by implementing cursors or pointers of various kinds. I suppose this app might be good for sketching out a simple prototype of an idea. Depends a lot on the app's price - anyone know?

  • Useless app in my opinion as 3d artist.

  • @rahammerhead really? why's that?

  • @AkademicDesignLabs Well, in my case, most time I am able to use my tablet is while I'm omw to work. Well for exmpl I have a char to do. Considering this video showing features I can do something like a base/overall proprotions. Nothing more. You can't achieve any preciseness and I suppose this app will just blow ur tablet battery.

So, my opinion this app is just for fun.

  • @rahammerhead Ever heard of sketching? Out on a train, got an idea and need to put it down? I don't know what kind of 3D you make, but for sketching SCULPTS this is more than useful. And I'm more than sure people will make insane models in this.

  • I have to admit, Im really not feeling all this "i-app" nonsense. >>

  • 1:46

    I thought it was Kratos.

    thumbs up for Kratos!!!!!

  • Rather work with blender.

  • 0:59 - Mario 64

  • Useless !

  • Bring it to android D:

  • nice lttle mudbox

  • like Z-brush... only 100x lamer

  • Wow, this is pointless.

  • @acf2802 No it's not, it's the 3d equivalent of doodling down an idea while on the go. It's pretty cool

  • @acf2802 "Useless comment is useless." said a wise man once upon a time.

  • @acf2802 So does your opinion.

  • @acf2802 idiot

  • @krth8 get a life

  • This product is available for 3000000000000000000000000000000000000$ on the iTunes app store

  • @lucas34511

    fail its free

  • amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing !

  • but will it blend?

  • I try to download autodesk 123d but can't open it :/

  • thats pretty good for people like me that arent as good with mouse sculpting

  • @dalobo

nobody use mouse for digital sculpting.

  • @Fu3r82 i do

  • @72dew

    doh!

  • @Fu3r82 I do too, snap!

  • @FAHpopups What bullshit.

  • @FAHpopups Yeah, as we know, they all use those awesome new Google Chrome laptops..... wait.. no..

  • @FAHpopups Thaaank Yoooou!

  • @FAHpopups uhm wrong i do 3d and i'm mac all the way

  • @glassryu Not many industry 3D artists use macs.. its a known fact.

  • @Smash3x True I guess. It's the one reason I haven't been able to cross over to a mac.

  • @glassryu Do you do enough 3D? If it's occasional, then I see that being a good use for a mac. Some 3D programs are not available for the Mac that's why there's preference over PCs to avoid the hassle.

  • @FAHpopups Don't you know 3D designers don't dick around on iPhones.

  • @FAHpopups Do you realize that iPad is the tablet lead in the market? You can import these models into windows via iTunes!

  • @FAHpopups 90% of 3d is done on macs smarty. Now game design no. But maya and macs are used in 90% of movies

  • @GeeCeeAte You are incorrect. Most 3d is done on peecees. More so if you count render boxes. I'd say about 5% Mac 70% Linux and 25% Windows....So you better learn some Linux...not the stupid shell shit for Apple.

  • @3Dtastesgreat I personally use pc with 3dsm. But the other 80% of the industry where im at uses macs. Thats just what i have been seeing.

and i agree, i would rather use linux.

I paid under 1000$ for my newest pc build. My mac cost me 3500$. and the pc is probably twice if not three times as fast. with renders, and realtime

  • @vry00

Well, they did get high poly sculpting working on an IPAD >.>

  • I mean you can't use this app for work, if one day they create zbrush for ipad that would be nice.

  • This is going to make cgi obsolete? What that means? Are you a moron or you dont know anything about 3D, you cant you this app for work as usual, this sculpt app is just for kids with some pre made silly models, you just modify them, you create nothing.

  • doing*

  • think the guy in the vid needs to look at amatomy a little more, that character he was doung at the end was awful :P

  • Interesting, but I still want to buy a graphic tablet. This application on iPad is more for those people that want to have fun with someone's face, etc. But for an artist I can't say that this is the future...

  • what is not real clear... why autodesk wait so long to get in the virtual sculpting...

    why for ipad?

  • what is that song?

  • Can teach us how to do Ultraman

  • well... this is going to make cg artists obsolete...

  • @DAYSandMONTHS modeling is just one step of many in cg... Apps like Zbrush did not displace modelers at all. You just learn and use it..... and.... a lot of modeling knowledge is still required in cg, so dont worry.... we, the cg artist will survive this.

  • Please make this for iPhone and iPod touch!

  • Remember I was here.Thai 5:14PM 8/29/2011

  • Bad news: " there are some disappointing factors. For one, you can’t import or export models".. so it's only a stupid game?! bahhh...

  • anyone knows if models are exportable and texturable?

  • Huita.

  • @MrHoSsMaN22 no, it's not available for iphone or ipod touch only ipad.

  • android pleaseeeeeeeeee

  • @neverangel lol it is but it's rlly fun

  • neat. Now, would you kindly address the bugs in programs people actually pay for? Check out Josh Robinson's video: "Reasons why I want to punch Autodesk Maya in the face" on vimeo.

  • looks funny

  • @keropakbawang wth how is ur kid gunna know how to use this stupid

  • Android plz. kthxbai.

  • Love the app. Is there a way to export the 3d model? That would be killer.

  • I dont know why one of the base models is an owel, where the hell can you go with an owl.

  • @mattmit did i just say owel? wtf

  • This is a good start, i had a go with it, but I'm looking forward to seeing this kind of thing become more functional.

  • Autodesk is awsome, 3D max is the most bugged 3D program in history, year after year they release a new version with a whole new, hot and exciting bug library...and now, they bring to us this sculptris mediocre copy...i hope pixologic release something to teach this guys how a sculpting aplication must be.

  • it looks useless, if u want to do modeling, you wouldn't do it on an ipad.

this is more like a game.

  • is this a learning software for kids under 10? i want it for my kid

  • I'd give a thumbs up if it had an export obj option. Then I'd prolly use it every day.

  • @KrakenCMT .obj export and export for 3D printing PLEASE!!!!!!

  • Steals money? This shit is free.....

  • "How to steal money from dumb people" a guide from Autodesk and Apple.

  • @0Tidus0989 it's for free on the App Store

  • @0Tidus0989 Idiot.

  • its free right now!!!!!

  • My Fave..................:D

  • Cad Drafters build the world. Better not piss us off or we will stop designing your shit.

  • ridiculous

  • The Teams that work on Those stuffs are different than 3DSMax Team, XSI, or Maya. Each Software has their dedicated team. This is a Free software now. My son will love it ! :)

  • I'll stick with Spore creature creator...

  • Dear Autodesk, would you mind to repair 3ds max first before start doing silly games like those, please?

  • @ErikRicardoLC Dont forget Maya Autodesk, some bugs are here for years, and the only thing you do is adding buggy features and performance issues.

  • @ErikRicardoLC AHAHAHA So true !!!

  • @ErikRicardoLC No, I don't think they will do. First, there are a lot of stupid people, who find this serious. Second, AD can't repair 3ds max, its founders are not in AD. Third, if they repair 3ds max, who wil buy their next buggy version?

  • @ErikRicardoLC Fix? You even a user? Whats your field?

  • @ErikRicardoLC is this a silly game? its a sculpting soft for me (like mudbox) the only thing is i doubt these pad things can handle real high poly models like it should be in a sculpting soft

  • @ErikRicardoLC Dear Erik would you mind if you don't like the sw and find it silly please don't use it.

  • @ErikRicardoLC dear autodesk, would you mind to bring out this thing to android. :D

  • @ErikRicardoLC

I request some effort with the revit 2012 installer which has up to now taken a week of my precious time.

  • @ErikRicardoLC Separate developers.

  • Boo autodesk. Boo.

  • @philnolan3d lol, care to elaborate mr 3dcoat guy?

  • @SupaPoopaScoopa Needs an Android version, has nothing to do with how awesome 3D-Coat is.

  • @philnolan3d haha... and buggy

  • That's very nice widget! :) Thank you.
