I motorcylist crashed in to my parked car last year. I was walking home at the time and was the first to help him. He had a deep puncture wound and was bleeding a lot. I gave him first aid, called the ambulance and all the rest of it. The funny thing is, my neighbours for some reason thought that I had crashed in to him and that it was my fault! Some people seem to think that if someone is helping, it's only because they are guilty.. that's a real shame. The 'bystander effect' is far too common.

I helped an older woman(50-55ish)up off the ground after she tripped over a parking block right before entering a Quickstop. I was holding the door open for her as she was walking up and I think she tried to hurry. As I helped her up I noticed her hand was dripping blood everywhere, she told me she took Coumadin (blood thinner). I helped her inside the store and asked the man for a band-aid. I was in front of a restaurant here in America and an old lady fell. The old man with her couldn't get her on her feet and everyone ignored them. Just walked around them, treating them more as an obstacle than fellow humans. I walked over and helped her up and into their car. Pretty sad seeing how people treat each other. It's not an Asian thing, humans in general often only care about themselves.

@tops1028 Well in China and other Asian countries they help even LESS than in Taiwan. So....saying "Asians" is pretty accurate. Especially when you consider the population of China dwarfs the rest. So even if the 1% (or whatever) of Asians that are Japanese do help someone when they fall.....that's still 99% that don't. My numbers are off a bit, but the generalization is still pretty accurate. And I'm sure no one is dumb enough to believe I mean ALL Asians don't help.
