@80sJukeBox Its actually meant to be serious tale about corporal punishment, in Catholics Schools in the 1960's, but its got that great spice of comedy mixed in too, which is why the film is so popular.
Great movie, but I think at least the first half of this trailer focused far too much on the sexual content. This was the age of the teen sex comedy, and they probably felt some pressure to promote it like that. I thought Porky's was great, but this movie is better than its trailer.
Great point. I remember seeing a TV ad for it and thinking it looked hilarious. But when I saw it later that year, right after it came out on VHS, I discovered that it's actually a comedy-drama. You're right; it was the era of the teen sex comedy. And besides, maybe they felt it was too hard to present both the comedy and the drama in a short trailer. Nevertheless, it's one of my all time favorites. And I recently met Malcom Denare (Caesar) on Facebook!

It's kind of funny that most of these actors were portrayed as teenagers, because most of them were in their early 20s when this movie was filmed.
