@Dkaur06 Sant ji did not fight in a wrong way. What other way did he have when Sri Harmandir Sahib was being attacked for no reason? Or when Sikh children were set on fire or thrown into boiling water? He could defend them like he did. I can assure you his legacy lives on and EVERYONE will remember him and what he did for us. Lives weren't "wasted" they were sacrificed for the better. Sant Ji sacrificed himself in battle to protect US.

Its true that later Mughals were atrocious, but that doesn't give anyone the right to hate a community or a country as a whole. Similarly Jains and Buddhists are listed among Hindus. While Muslims, Chistians, Jews etc have independent identities. In my opinion, no such listing should be made for anyone and there should be Uniform Civil Code for all.

When the constitution was written, it had more minority community's representatives in the drafting commission than majority. The Hindu Personal Laws eg Marriage act, 1955 etc includes Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains etc because most of the rituals and traditions of marriage, property, succession and adoption in these religions are similar to Hinduism.

But, as I said, I am in favour of Uniform Civil Code.

The word was coined by Islamic invaders. They called India Hindustan - which means 'The Land Beyond River Indus'. It has nothing to do with any religion and thus people of this land was called Hindus which included both the followers and non-followers of Vedic Culture.
