@ddrhazy The women that did this was one of the people who was indeed part of the animation team that rotoscoped the film Waking Life. Pupae.com if you'd like to know more about her and view her other work.
I read some stuff below about ascension and whatnot, and to me the meaning of this song is much more simple. It's about moving on from somebody who you know is no good for you... somebody you have a history with. It's difficult because you have that bond with that person, but you know at the same time that they're bad for you. It's not about creepy stalker mode.
But I suppose that was obvious, so I'll shut up now.
@ELnuncio956 that's what i thought. can't remember which part though. it's annoying me, trying to remember. think it's when the girl talks about her soap opera plans
@FanOfAll That's the scene--either that or the one right before it when they meet each other on the stairs and they talk about how they don't want to be ants. Glad there were others who caught it.
Nah, still don't get it :( I like the animation, there is a very "human" feel to the movements, even though the eyes bulge around in a way that makes me feel slightly unsettled. The overall impression I get from this video is depressing, with a message of .... something good at the end??
Don't Say A Word The Last One's Still Stinging Back A My Mind I Feel That Phone Ringing And There Is No Way Back From This Everything Hits At Once What We Needs Is Just What We Wants I Go To Sleep But Think That You're Next To Me I Go To Sleep And Think You're Next To Me Don't Make A Move When I Walk Out Don't Follow Me Out In The Car Can Feel It Calling Me And Ooh You're So Far Away But I Can Still Change My Mind Tonight
I admit that this song is more about human nature really than 'Ascension' per se, but really all ascension is is growth, and the integration of more 'light', or energy/stuff, into your body/consciousness.
So while I was mainly trying to grab the attention of people (and make them wonder lol), it mainly is just a great song and touches a lot about the human condition.
Sorry I upset you so Manuel, and thanks for the interest riseup... =D
hehehe, no I do not. I know all about them, as well as many other crazy/governmental groups that have a lot of malice in their hearts.
I don't truly practice any religion, though I take from them what I find to be based in Love. So, I guess I could say the only thing I practice is that: Love (in the broader, more divine sense of the word) :D.
Also, if you replace the other (that is he lonely without), and replace that with Spirit, or Soul, then you have the thing that people find the hardest to love: themselves. So, you have a lot of lonely people because they are detached from their true nature.
Also, at one point while watching this video, I thought that it looked like the fish was transforming into more of a frog-looking creature, denoting growth. Also, him picking up the angel at the end (at the house of his ex) shows growth...
Well, I admit it is a bit abstract, but here was my basic stream of concsoiusness.... :
This song shuffled onto my iPod a lot randomly when I was going though many different things in my life, as well as when many things I had been working on were integrating and merging with mySelf. So, also remembering the way we perceive 'time' is speeding up, like a parabolic curve, things begin to happen all at once, because really the Now is the only thing that truly exists.
No, this was directed and created by the same person who did a part of Waking life, not the whole film..Divya Srinivasan, pupae(dot)com. Waking life was directed as a whole by Richard Linklater
totally underrated in my opinion. god, everytime i listen to one of their records it becomes my favorite, then i put on another one, and that becomes my favorite...theyre part of my top 3 favorite bands: nirvana, the beatles and of course, spoon.
These guys play a lot here in Austin. This vid is pretty cool... but he should have picked up those two chicks at that bar and did a manage` a three...
the first time i saw this i was A fucking impressed and B hoping the guy would go back to the red head and like. do something. cause she was giving him the eye...yes well anyway
I first saw this video on MTV2 at like three in the morning when i was around nine years old. It has since been one of my favorite music videos. And if you like the animations you will appreciate Waking Life. it has the same art director.
I'm from San Antonio, btw. So any Austinites that know me can blow me cuz I'm not backing down. You guys can be pretty uptight sometimes compared with the rest of us. Despite the fact that your city is a fucking party below sea level. Alright, I'm done. Fuck I love Texas.
I saw this video on MTV at like 3 in the morning . the only time MTV plays videos and good ones. Love spoon tho..my old guitarist told me about them back in like 99
i heard this song when I stole the cd out of this guys car about 4 years aggo and i googled the chorous and found em. I love this song word up bitches!!!
Austin houses too many memories. Difficult city to come back to and recognize if you don't live there. Like a pillar of intelligence and snobbishness that repels the rest of the state. Texas is the ultimate dichotomy. I love it.
this song reminds me of this dude name lubin who stalks my sister!!
