I was at this concert. Fabulous show which demonstrated Robert's broad range of musical tastes. The show went out the following week on BBC Radio 2 - I must have missed the TV broadcast. Some of the audience were unenamoured at the song selection (obviously performing with the BBC Radio orchestra there was no Addicted to Love or Simply Irresistible) and there were people booing and walking out. Unbelieveable.
@Vivenne1st must have been November 1992.The show's radio broadcast was on BBC Radio 2 on Saturday November 21st at 7.30pm. The Royal Albert Hall concert featured The BBC Big Band, plus a guest appearance by Brian Wilson's daughter. Carnie. The Tour Programme states the following worldwide venues: London; Las Vegas; New York; Chicago; San Fransisco; Los Angeles. According to the programme the Royal Albert Hall show was filmed by the BBC for a prestigious Christmas Slot. It was a great show!
I love this concert too and wish it was available in full. I remember reading though that the audience was disappointed that it didn't feature the hits, but this kind of music, despite it clearly being advertised, and that it was the Royal Albert Hall. And later, people seem to have thought that Robbie Williams was the first to do this kind of "crooner revival". Incredible.
The sound quality is amazing...there has got to be more footage of this concert..I would kill to see more or buy it? or find a source...this is just amazing. I am a huge fan and would really love to know. Amazing only 1330 views when fifi the poodle shoots pom poms out of its ass get 1,250,000 hits what a world we live in.
Same - I would also kill to get a dvd of this concert. This is the best version of 'between us' I have heard!
Yeah, it is a bit sad what gets watched on youtube... Looking at most of RP's videos, he might not get thousands of views, but rarely gets negative comments. Easily ne of the most under-rated musicians of the past thirty years.
Gorgeous man, beautiful song! By the way, bococonnor, the song is "BETWEEN US", not "Honeymoon." Thank you,it's still one of my many favorites of Robert's.
The best song on HEAVY NOVA!
