  • nice boarding & footage. how much for the prior? ;)

  • @howley76 The prior cost me about AU$1100. Its going Up Bogong yet again this weekend.

  • did you start from the summit? if so how did you get there?

  • yep - that vid starts at the summit. Access is by foot (ie. long hike up from the base).

  • hey check out our trip to mt bogong in the snow :) :) crazy backpackers doing what they're passionate about!!!!

  • I've dreamed it - you did it. Great work.

  • This has to be one of Australia's best back country spots. Great footage.

  • Nice snowboarding, wat was the song at 1:47?

  • Song is "Zenophile" by Mylo.

  • I went up there 3 times in 2007. Twice in mid-july and once in late September. I own an avalanche beacon (and probe + shovel) but have only ever worn it overseas.

  • i went there just yesterday hiking with my frend with her scout group WAS SO MUCH FUN!!

even know i cant feel my bloody legs today!!

  • when did you guys go up there? mid season?

    did you used avi beacons?

  • Nice film! Bivouac Hut on The Staircase is a bit squalid, try the comfy Michell Hut on Eskdale Spur. It makes a much nicer weekend base if you don't want to haul a full pack over the summit ridge on the way to the wonderful Cole Hut at the head of Camp Valley.

  • Thanks! I agree - Michell Hut and Cleve Cole Hut are superior and I have stayed at both in the past few years. Bivouac Hut was our base on this trip due to lack of time (two days only), lack of a high clearance 4WD vehicle, and to avoid pack hauling as much as possible to save time. Either this year or next I'm keen to do a full week trip (not just a rushed weekend dash) and stay up at Cleve Cole or camp out somewhere closer to summit if weather is good.

  • What an awesome video. Have hiked up there many times in summer but that looks like so much fun!!!

  • absolutely beautiful:) how the hell did you get up there, that must've been so tiring.

  • sick video man! good riding! how did u get up there? did u have to hike?i wanna try and get up to bogong this winter!

  • Yep - its a killer hike with camping gear and boarding gear. We left Melboure Friday night after work and hiked half way up to Bivouac Hut arriving at 1am. We spent Sat and Sun boarding the slopes off the south of Mt Bogong. Weather was magic as you can see.
