  • Great minstry Norm thank you for your love for the truth of Gods word. The gifts of the spirt were given by only the apostiles after the last apostile died the gifts were no longer needed or would be able to be given . Acts 8: 18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

  • when did they cease? did not God say that He would confirm us to the end? The apostles, started with laying on hands, but Now Jesus does the baptizing of the Holy Ghost as stated by Peter in acts. God is no respector of persons, if He did it at he begining of the church age He will do it for us until the time of His return. that is why we have chapters explaining spiritual gifts. to say they do not work today is just a lack of faith

  • mark 16:17 says these signs will accompany those who believe:

    not just the apostles

  • No you cannot confirm the word. Only the most high can confirm his words. Then the bible will be confirmed to the person asking which will convict those around them. I was given discernment at birth. IT confirmed the golden rule and the law of love. Christianity today is a muched up mess with more lies than truth. I need signs and wonders just to Indicate that god may be there to unbelievers. Keep Christ sayings, dont be a hypocrite and ask for wisdom all else will follow.

  • we are told the meaning and purpose of the gift 1 cor 12., we're told that they are SET in the church 1 cor 12:28, we're told in gensis 1:15-17 that God SET the moon and sun in their places, we're told in 1 cor 12 the manifestation is given to each 1 (aren't you 1?), in acts to as many as the Lord our God will call afar off.... that which is perfect in your opinion is in dipute-- look at divisions on mark 16:20 alone (perfect?) unbelief leave a cripple crippled.

  • the "perfect" that Paul is talking about in 1 Cor 13:10 is not Jesus. Jesus was perfect when he walked on this earth. And when Paul wrote this letter, Jesus had already been been on the earth. It wouldnt make sense for paul to say that since Jesus had aready come. He was talking about the bible, the word of God. One purpose for miralces was to confirm the word that the apostles spoke. Now that we have the written word of God, that which is perfect, there is no need for miracles..

  • Spiritual gifts were to come to an end when the perfect is come. The perfect will come when

Christ Returns. Then we will know as we are known. No long will a man teach his neighbor, the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord.

Until this happens the Church must have the power of the Holy Spirit.

These People do not believe in the Ministry Of the Holy Spirit. They rely on their own understanding.

  • 1 CORINTHIANS 13:10 But when THAT which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

The greek word for perfect there is telios. It means complete. Strongs number 5046 if you care to look it up. Not perfect like we think of Christ as being without blemish.

Another point, the verse says when THAT. Imagine Paul calling Christ THAT, instead of HE. I do not believe THAT would be the correct term to describe a person, especfially Jesus.

  • That was very very good. Keep on preaching you are doing a great job in exposing the text. That is what its all about. God Bless you and your work.
