  • Wow. I could watch this over and over again, Johnny Weir skates this music so beautifully! I would love to find a copy of this with the music, but without the annoying commentary.

  • This was WONDERFUL.

  • Johny is very talented ARTIST. His talent is huge. He brings ART to the skating , he makes this World more beautiful. When I see his perfomence I feel like I am in Paris or Florence, or in Moskow watching Russian ballet. He gives us a dream. Johny is the one of THEM who has talent from God. Thank you, Johny. We love you.

  • SHIT HE'S FROM MY HOMETOWN

  • He is SUPER PERFECT! !

I prefer to call him ARTIST rather than athlete!

  • Just amazing!!!

  • do you have video of 2004 / short program

  • I love his spin at 1:53 I think it is. Where he has his arms and his leg straight out but then bends his leg and one has arm in front and the other behind his back. It made for a really interesting line. And his backwards jump at 4:20 is nifty. I also love his reaction to his 6.0 at the end. :)

  • unbelievably beautiful~~~~~

  • Johnny Weir's performance is absolutely perfection! <3

    I love Johnny's reaction @ 6:12 <3

  • DICK BUTTON YOU FAIL

    DOUBLE TOE :P

  • tears.........he was so young and so good at that time....but he is still the best!

    love his smile!

  • This program is wonderful and his performance was such beautiful perfection! Oh those jumps! <3 I've possibly watched it 1,000 times and I'm still loving it.

  • i hate to be the voice of dissent, but he just isn't that good! yes he is a very talented jumper and has a triple axel to die for, but his programs have never lived up to the skills he possesses. all this talk of the judges being biased towards him is absolute bogus; his programs just were never up to the level of his competitors during the 09-10 season.

  • @cw6391 I actually kind of agree with you. I try to remember this program above all the others he has skated to.

  • wow, the judges are so biased it's ridiculous. seriously, they need to stop making snide comments at his previous performance!

  • @vtang2008 Not nearly as biased as his "stans".

  • @1814Brandan His "stans" are insane fat girls who stuff their faces with Entenmann's

  • Johnny is my ccousin, but we have never met.

  • @Sidney38SNJ i agree

  • The best routine I've ever seen!! fluent, gracefull, what more could you want in a male figure skater? :) So proud of you Johnny!!! Keep sticking up for yourself bud :) :) :)

  • @kjsk8ing I want a male skater that doesn't choke on the big stage.

  • @wheresmykoppy - agreed! this skating season won't be the same without Johnny. Can't wait to see Be Good Johnny Weir when it starts up again on Sundance channel. I think he should go pro. His fans could easily fill any arena out jere in So Calif.

  • Owned! Sorry Micheal Weiss. Your smug facial expeessions suck.

  • @midnightblusky

I hate the new system. I think it should be overhauled in some way. The new system was supose to hinder favoritism. I still think the judges are able to be prejudiced against skaters. Johnny is a beautiful skater and deserved a higher placement at the 2010 olympics. I will miss Johnny this year. He is the only reason I watched figure skating. He is an intesting skater and person.

I have a feeling he will not be back to amateur skating. He has too many things he is into.

  • Effortless, reminds me of John Curry a little......a joy to watch!

  • i <3 his triple axel :))) its cute

  • I really love Jonny. However, I still prefer him dancing to classical music like swan lake than Lady GaGa's .

  • What a beautiful performance. He's amazing- a talented and beautiful person.

  • Why does the commentator refer to Michael Weiss as having to "settle" for 2nd Place? Bad message to all the up and coming skaters that might be watching. I wish I could skate as good as them on their worst day! Go Johnny!

  • @szqsk8

Because he's an idiot... I remember when Michelle Kwan won the silver at the Olympics and someone said she lost the gold. She said she didn't 'lose' the gold, she 'won' the silver... Good for her! But yes, GO JOHNNY!

  • The better 4ever!!

  • Oh he's soooooooo gorgeous and talented...I <3 him...at 6.02 duz his coach say she's proud of him??? She seems really nice x

  • he's only been skating since he was 12 and he's perfect here...I know everyone goes at their own pace but Rippon is nineteen and he can't do a clean axel! John Weir's a genius that's it

  • Wow, he was 19 here? Amazing

  • @VFDbranch13 The most amazing thing is he only started skating at 12?

  • @crystalamp I know! And that's considered very late as far as figure skating goes. He is my favorite figure skater of all time...

  • way better than the pocker face one

  • I could watch the ending over and over and over and over.. it makes my heart melt..

  • What's up with Michael Weiss? He could not have looked more insincere! Dick Button's comment about the lack of artistry on the straight-line footwork was right though cuz you can tell Johnny has the talent. Go Johnny!

  • i saw wings on his back.

  • люблю его.......

  • :) He's awesome. So graceful.

That Michael Weiss guy...what was up with that sarcastic applauding? He didn't seem very sportsmanly.

  • i try watching it for a few and couldnt see how good his first trick was because of the crappy video out put. some things u can get away with posting crappy video but thids isnt one of em

  • amazing

  • for fuck sake stop talking about his sexuality and dont call him different.

  • @tagurit2 If you can do ANY of that, wow!

I fall every 5 feet, gripping for my life along the walls.

  • Great video. thx. He is really gutsy, articulate, creative. true talent too.

  • wonderful to see. thank you for posting this video

  • I don't really get people like you. Talking about his sexuality and what not. The man is Ace on the ice and you just care if he sleeps with gyus or not. I mean why do you actually WATCH the sport? for the sport itself or for the gossip? because that's just sad.

  • Johnny, you are exceptionally talented. You are a joy to watch, especially for those of us who feel "different" and may have suffered for it. You are a fine role model with your perseverence, tenacity and superb skating technique. May your skating career continue to widen, although you sadly didn't get the Gold Medal you deserved at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. There's alot of hate and jealousy, but you have such class; you rise above all the pettiness, You've uceeeded-you've the Gold in my book

  • Johnny, you are supremely talented. You're a joy who may be "different". Although I'm female, I've encountered people (generally older and even some in my own family) who have a problem with me not looking traditionally "feminine" and being unmarried, so I especially admire Johnny's tenacity, courage and superb skating technique. Johnny, you stand for all of us who may be considered "different"; you always persevere to seek perfection.

  • bahahaha! his oponent looks like a douche. i'm glad for johnny :]

  • Johnny Weir can't win anything until the tiny group of faceless, nameless corrupt judges are replaced. Even Elvis Stojko - who HATES Johnny Weir, admitted that the judges should have scored Johnny Weir MUCH higher. They also mentioned that some of the same Judges who have screwed him last year were the Olympic judges.

  • He's a pleasure to watch, very talented, but you KNOW he really would rather be wearing a dress and leotards.

  • I wouldn't go so far as to say he'd want to be wearing a dress. As far as I know he's not a transvestite

  • @zeogle Whether he would want to wear a dress or not is, of course, none of our business. I think we can all agree that he would look just as beautiful in one should he desire to go down that route. He's VERY graceful and feminine :)

  • A-M-AZING! axel, triple toe, and a salchow in the first minute of it :)

  • Oh god that made me so emotional he is like magic.

  • I think Johnny was able to be more free under the old scoring system. He knocked off triple triples with ease and seem to float over the ice. The new scoring system makes the athletes think too much about adding points. I just love Johnny Weir. Very unique and beautiful person.

  • @winer65 84girasole i belive yuo have reason anything ilove him cause wonderful boy and great skater in the world only prejudice of yuo are wrote for jugdes and othe rs stupid peoples GOD loves all and him is nice person so his family i love johnny a lot from italian girl hi

  • @winer65 I have to agree!

  • Johnny rocks! That was incredible!

  • I agree - it was so cute to see him so happy! What an amazing job he's done.

  • dat landing...

extra points for the musical piece.

  • er i meant gliding

  • god i don't understand how people can do that

    amazing

    he looks like he's floating

  • Dick Button's voice has been chiseled into the inside of my skull.

  • Oath.

  • wow peta has nothing better to do then harass the few people that wear fur. can't they use their time and money to actually HELP animals.

<3 johnny totally deserved that medal.

  • He had it six years ago and he still has it now. I still can't believe he didn't get on the podium... Sigh! Still love him though, and he skated so beautifully in Vancouver.

  • @WheresMyKoppy Olympics were messed up. Lysacek wasn't best, Plushenko was the winner and Johnny should have been 3rd. Seems like they were giving points for looks rather than skills...

  • @kukuku8

While I certainly think Johnny deserved a medal, I don't agree that Plushenko was the winner. I'm not a Lysacek fan, but I do think on that night he was probably the best.

  • @WheresMyKoppy 84girasole I belive yuo have reason the judges have prejudices of JOHNNY ,i dont remeber his skating pure ,artistyc very unique ,but we love johnny and him kwon, feels

  • oh i just love to see him so happy there at the end! he skated so wonderfully, and his performance at the 2010 olympics was amazing as well, he deseved a higher score!

  • It really should be pronounced LAN-caster, and mushrooms should be mentioned, but whatever.

  • @shoesfordancing

I've always heard it said Lank'-ister.

A funny thing happens in the US. When I was a kid our bay was called "bowkah cheega" (Boca Ciega). Now that the area is more affluent, the newcomers have changed the pronunciation to Bow-kah-see-ay-gah. South of here, another bay is actually spelled "boca cheeka" which demonstrates how it was pronounced.

  • wow. incredible!

  • Hes amazing. I have to say anyone who has every picked on him in his life should feel stupid and like an ass. I bet those people aren't making nearly as much as he is or getting the attention like he is. Amazing I would have been his friend, seems like a great guy. I love all gays.

  • Sorry to make such an irrelevant comment to Johnny Weir. I thought he was a tad underscored at the Olympics. I love the grace and emotions he puts into his performance.

  • @JTMarlin8

He (HE!) is not a chick.

    Lol.

  • OH MY GOD I FREAKING LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!! I can't help it... he's my favourite!!!

  • I love my little beatiful monster !!!!

  • He is beautiful !

  • I Love Johnny Weir!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • wow thats random

  • This is seriously the best skating (singles) video I've ever seen. Admittedly I haven't seen that many and I would prob not have seen this if this guy wasn't on Yahoo's front page every 5 seconds, but I've seen enough from those who "matter" or who once mattered. The other videos of him skating aren't as good as this one though, except maybe the My Way one.

  • I think, he was even better in the olympic performance for some days then this one. I was very very impressed.

  • the behaviour of michael weiss on this video is creepy

  • Male skaters get more females than you could ever hope to have buddy.

Nothing more a woman likes than a man secure in his own sexuality, not threatened by others as you obviously are. lol

  • Fag or not, whatever you wanna call it there buddy, if someone has charisma, artistry and talent, you have to be blind not to see it!

  • RothdeMan said it. Girls find dancers just as, if not more, sexy as any other kind of athlete. Don't be ignorant.

  • yes, he is wonderful & the most captivating skater out there imo, BUT no one should wear new fur. vintage, sure, leather, sure, because we eat the meat. today they skin these animals alive discarding their meat like garbage. one shouldn't encourage it. with that said, he is divine.

  • this is the most spectacular program I've seen! GO JOHNNY!!!!!!!!!!

  • i cant wait to watch what Johnny weir has in stores for us in 2010 winter olympics ! :D

  • we all have our own choice if we want to wear fur or not i dont understand why people make a big issue out of it. if he wears fur that does not mean his a bad person. i dare PETA to go to china and do there protest there all peta wants are publicity and DONATIONS!!!!! there are good and simple ways to aproach people that are still wearing or using real fur afterall correction is a private matter

  • lol who cares most of you all making a big deal out of him wearing fur are most likely wearing fur or a fur based piece of clothing lol. saying he's bad for wearing fur is like saying that when a cat sheds it's abuse

  • Eh, only problem is that a cat sheds naturally, when for fur clothing, animals are killed to obtain the fur. That's the point of the whole campaign against wearing fur.

Some of you do have to calm down, though. Don't just go condemning anybody who wears it.

  • who knows how many animals are being killed everyday for food anyway, people have been wearing fur since the beginning of time, it was their " clothing", it's not gonna change now lol, I guess that's my point, it's just not that big of a deal. lol and everybody is free to think what they want, so its not like im bashing the people who think we shouldn't wear fur, I'm just saying that people are being hella judgmental about him when they don't even know him.

  • FURk the peta nut jobs lol

  • pestopalooza. A NUTJOB is someone like yourself that would kill without conscience.

And then of course claim God said it was OK so that's why you do it.

SO, prove to me that you know what God is!

    Now prove your God exists!

  • @diggyddogg

You don't know what kind of person I am I would not kill without conscience however when the earth was created animals were not created just to look at. I'm not promoting violence toward anything but humans were mad as the superior race however thats a bit of what I think im sorry but I'm not going to argue religion with you that is a subject to each his own

  • look its his choice man chill out yes I understand that animals are killed for fur and meat etc. but isn't that what God made them for (hint: yes)

  • @pestopalooza Maybe, but not at the extent that it's being done.

  • @diggyddogg you know, ice skates are made out of cow skin. As much as I love animals, one fox isnt as bad as hundreds of cows killed for ice skates, or chickens tortured and treated as objects for their eggs. Or even worse, poachers killing endangered animals (ie. for ivory) Hey diggyddogg think of all the chickens tortured so people can eat eggs. Do you eat eggs? What about gummy candy? Animal cartilage is used to make the candy gummy. One fox killed doesnt seem so bad now does it?

  • chickenhippobutt, "One fox killed doesnt seem so bad now does it? "

So in your logic, killing a fox is OK, but killing cows or any other animal is not?

To answer your question, I'm vegan, I don't kill any creatures.

  • God forbid if you'd ever have mice or a rat in your house. What would do, try to reason with it?

  • catch it and let it go, outside.

  • He skates with his heart. You can just see the emotion. I love him and his skating!

  • I remember how I used to watch this like everytime....big johnny fan.....its been 6 years already...i fell in love with him like around 2004.....he's awesome...loved his triple axle at the beginning...3:27-38 was so graceful along with the the music....<3 johnny o-^____^-o

  • He is very good, too bad that now days the Triple & above Axe has been largely eliminated from the routines. He should do this music again at the Games now, wearing a Fur Hat, just to piss off the Anti-Fur nuts that reportledly threatened him at the Games. But, at least is having some consolation staying hopefully warm with sexy Tanith Belbino in his hotel room. Fur the Peta nuts, I understand their political position but they have to learn to respect people. Hopefully he will win a medal.

  • It's wonderful to watch you Johnny .

You are the best , Good luck to 20010.

  • i love him so much

  • johnny weir is stunning beauty.

  • Dick Button is NOT gay. He's been married for DECADES to the woman who coached Janet Lynn. If you want to learn something about skating, i.e. what constitutes good back position in the entrance of exit of a jump or sit spin, or what's a good leg position in a layback spin, you'll listen to what he has to say. He's educated thousands of listeners over the years. How sad that we have to listen to Sandra Bezic and Scott Hamilton for the 2010 Olympics. The lend little more than chatter.

  • the comentarist cant just shup up and let me see

    the skater moment .

  • Shut up! Mr.Button isn't gay(not that it would matter) and he can open his legendary mouth as much as he'd like! Deal with it!

  • He is not Gay ! He is just an excited commentator !

  • OOOh i wrote the wrong word, i meant guy not gay xddddd sorry

  • LOL sad how such a small typo can get you into so much trouble. xD

  • This programm is still beautiful!! ;) unfortunately he is not able to such a programm at the moment ;((((

    really sad!! ;(

  • He is so beautiful.

  • This guy is just unbelievable, I can`t even begin to grasp how someone can be this great at skating. He`s a natural, it`s something you have to be born with.

  • I miss this Johnny! What happened?

  • i love johnny weir he is such a beautiful skater!!!

  • This is fantastic. I prefer him with the short hair.

  • So do I...

  • Happy Birthday Johnny Weir

  • this seems like so long ago. I loved this program.

  • i absolutely love this....

  • Johnny Weir Rocks!

  • hes soo good

  • I LOVE YOU JOHNNY WEIR!!!!!!!!!

Johnnys performance was phenominal!! (the outfit looked hot too)...but Michael Weiss was f*cked and he knew it!!!! HA!

Johnny is the best damn skater there is!!! love him!! ^_^

  • can michael weiss be more of a dickhead? he deserved to lose

  • I love this program!

  • should have NEVER gone with the russian thing!!!!! could have been.....

  • russian thing?

  • God I love him!!! ... Can I keep him? lol

  • He's unique!!!Wonderful.... New USchamp is a freak. With awful skate & froggy smile. He can 4CC jump and what? It's not FIGURE skating.

    Johnny,NOTHING compares to you!Nothing!!!!

  • there are no words : ) i agree with you partspare, he's got a feminine air about him but it comes across as masculine strength. wel i think so anyway : D

  • Haha I love that "biting my nails" thing from Michael. I miss him.

As for Johnny...bravo! Encore, splendid. It took my breath awayyyyy

  • he's amazing... :O i don't know what to say:P :**

  • I love how Dick keeps saying, "oh look there is Michael Weiss applauding Johnny Weir" when it is so obvious that Micheal is pissed that Johnny did so well. lol. The program is beautiful and I love Johnny, but that makes me laugh every time.

  • i remember watching this live and being totally drawn in and thinking wow.

  • His skating brings me to tears. I love his emotions. He is not afraod to show them. Go Johnny,Go!!! Gold for 2010!!!!

  • This is one of my favorite moments in sports history. Youth and beauty and that feeling that you've glimpsed an angel unawares.

  • The fact that this music is from a movie about Russia is not lost on the audience, after so many years of Russian dominance in figure skating!

  • love the music, love the program, love johnny.

  • the new brian boitano

  • amazing night

  • Beautiful program by a very beautiful skater

  • he is de king of ice; he is and he will be the most amazing figure in figure skating of all times.

  • good taste, good style, good choice of music

  • beautiful program :D

  • Thanks for the post, I've been looking for this.

I love Dick Button so much: "motion picture" and "I've gotta tell you" It's not figure skating without him

  • Well I think Dick Button is a dork. He goes on to call Johnny's skating 'frivolous' in a clear effort to belittle Johnny's feminine qualities. Button feels like just a political mouthpiece.

  • I feel like him and Peggy Fleming have their favorites based on who they know. They compliment on Emily Hughes on a number of occassions based on her "fight" through her programs. Which means, she barely lands her jumps, and has really bad quality of skating.

  • es exelente..

  • such flair in that catch foot. haha
