the ending is slightly different if you play as a characther with a revolver (Fio for example) it shows a revolver instead of a pistol this also allot better than the ending for MS2 (wich just shows credits)

maybe he/she wanted to quit (marco doesnt apear in MS 4)

Actually, Marco and Fio are in Metal Slug 4, Eri and Tarma are not because of a "different mission", although they drop you off by land or by air.
