(There's a photo of my Gr Aunt with him from this era) vR suddenly disappeared from the scene when WW1 was declared. My Gr-grandparents met vR in London between the wars - VERY awkward moment! They received a letter from vR WHILE WW1 was raging, worried about their fighting sons, his friends! Wish I had a copy of that letter!
