  • What happens if you don't have a pair 0:32

  • Well, I think that you should have explained what to do if we don't get a pair a little bit more clearly and provided us with an example. I have to do the algorithm 3 to 4 times to get a pair. Please help!

  • What happens if you don't have a pair at the beginning of the video ???

  • you do know for the corners you just find 2 corners that line up with the side next to them, then hold the cube so one lining corner is in the left and the other lining corner is in the back and do the algorithm R,2U,R',U',R,2U,L',U,R',U',L. that will give you all corners done!

  • Thanks man, this was the most helpful and well explained set of tutorials in all of youtube.

  • thank's a lot

  • Thanks man, I've sort of mastered the beginner's method and am now starting with F2L/PLL/OLL and I found myself overwhelmed by how many algorithms I have to memorize.

These algorithms coupled with 2 look oll will get me started in the right path and eventually I'll memorize all the rest.

  • excellent series of tutorials, im still alittle slow with the finger tricks but these tutorials helped alot. thanx man :D

  • with this method i solved the cube in 2 minutes and thats after 3 months of practicing... with the beginners method i did in 45.18 Seconds..... what do you have to say about that?

  • haha i was doing the first algorithm in this video but instead of getting all of the corners solved and the edge pieces wrong i ended up completeing the cube XD

    WIN!

  • Dude!!! Great tutorial, I've been solving basic method for awhile and I've just stared F2L OLL and PLL. You have the only video out there I've seen that gets you started on this method with clear and concise instructions. Thank you very much for putting this together.

  • dude thanks soooo much i can solve the rubiks cube soooo much faster now im using the store bought rubiks brand cube. I lubed it, and im ordered the Dayan Guhong today!!!

  • I got it in 58 seconds ^_^

  • Thanks dude this helps so much but i have trouble learning the algorithm. Whats the easiest way to learn them?

  • @karatebunny1

    well practice...

memorizing isn't easy, it just takes repetition. other than that I would say the only thing you can do is not learn to many at one time because you might forget previous ones. Make sure you have some 100% down before trying to learn others.

  • @DanieLDude1554 can you help me with my f2l? i'm having trouble doing it fast... i'm getting better, but my record is STILL 1:43 :/ help?

  • @karatebunny1 try not to think about the names of the rotations but rather look at the cube to recognize the patterns to get to each stage

  • OMG thank you soo much, ive been looking to make my cube solving skills faster. thank you so much :DDD

  • 5:50 NO. im steve

  • I find it a bit wierd that I can memorize 90 digits of pi but still can't remember three of the PLL algorithms...

  • it seems that doing the edges first then corners might take the same amount of time then doing corners then edges? or is one of them faster?

  • @btimowith

the corner algorithms in this video alter the position of the edges. If you solve the edges first you will mess up the edges when ever you do the corner algorithms. There are ways to get around this but its an advanced of this method.

  • Haha. I'm exactly the 10,000th viewer. XD Nice tutorial, man! I've gotten a LOT faster since watching this series!

  • @Ashanmaril

great! keep it up. if want to get even faster check out parts 6,7,8 and my F2L series (playlist on my page)

  • @DanieLDude1554 I will, but I still need to memorize the clockwise switch, and the tank-thing and the figure-8 in the "Sune" step.

  • @DanieLDude1554 why not use R' F R' B2 R F' R' B2 R2 when you are looking at U and R is pointing to you

  • JESUS CHRIST!!! i tryed this method and i figured it would take to long and it cut of 30secs of my last time WOOOOOHHHOOOO

  • thx it is really helping, im gonna practice alot!!

  • ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

im just gunna do layer by layer

    lol

dis is too many new algorithyms

  • Hi i like your video allot, but i have a couple questions, first of all my cube seems not to have any resistence, mine is store bought(target) and is very hard to turn, so where could i by a cheep good cube? Secondly, do you know any web sight where i can lurn how to do a rubics cube really fast, im not asking because your video is to slow because its not( it saved me about a minnet on my rubics cube) but because i want to lurn how to do it faster:). Thank you very much.

  • i can do this in 30 seconds. beat that!

  • man.. watched all parts.. awesome.. when i first saw the f2l, oll and pll method, i was really put off by how many algorithms we had to learn.. but this is really nice of you take trouble and time to break it down into easy, repetitive simple ones.. i'm off to solving it now.. ..

  • I got a rubik's cube for Christmas as i have always wanted to solve one. I learnt the 'beginner' method in about a day. And this method is much faster. Thanks for the videos :D

  • this method doesn't seem faster...i did the layer by layer method in 48 seconds and this one is weird

  • @Reighan252

it is faster, it takes a while to learn but once you get it down it is faster

  • @DanieLDude1554 ok, its just hard, hey one more question

when your lining up the edges and putting a pair in the back it takes me like 4 or 5 times to do sometimes

why? and does a pair have to be a solid bar of 3?

  • @Reighan252

it's the simplest way to explain it. There are actually different cases that use different algorithms, i explain some of these in parts 6,7, and 8. Since this entire series is basically a simplified version of a more advanced method, there are always faster ways to do things, they're just more difficult to teach/learn.

  • @DanieLDude1554 i figured it out!

  • @Reighan252 Not to intrude on this great tutorial, but here's a little tip: you don't need a solid bar of 3, no, but after you do the corner cycle, check if you need to rotate the U layer. If you have matching pairs of corners on every side, that means your corners were already solved and you just need to turn the U layer. :) Remember, corners first.

  • @gwilendiel Also, interestingly I just realized if you accidentally do a corner cycle on solved corners, and then fix it by doing another corner cycle, this will fix the corners but unsolve edges. On a solved cube, doing this will set you up to do the swapping-across edge perm. If you don't know that one yet, you can set up a three edge cycle by doing anti-sune followed by sune, then apply the appropriate 3 edge cycle (or the opposite cycle twice) to solve it.

  • @gwilendiel Also if you do that, when you do anti-sune followed by sune, the sune part must be done from the actual sune position (position the cube so the 'fish head' points to the lower left as in a normal sune)

  • @DanieLDude1554 it does get fast haha! i did it in 37 seconds! woww

  • @Reighan252 - Fridrich method is MUCH faster than LBL. Try getting 7 seconds with LBL.

  • Simple, easy, nice :D

  • 1min 1 s and 78/100s ! Thank you a lot !

  • dude, this is an awesome basic fredric tutorial, This is my goal, get subminute and this is perfect, this is as simple as dan browns

  • I can do all the steps with ease but my speed wont go more then 1:30

I've lubricated my cube and everything

    can someone please help?

    my emails hadz_95@live.co.uk

if anyone could be very helpful email me and tell me how they do it!???

  • @latinokiller93

the faster you can recognize the moves, the less time is wasted in between steps. also, if you can't do finger tricks that could also slow you down. if that is the case check out the finger tricks tutorial i have on my page. other than that just keep practicing.

  • @latinokiller93 helps if you can move the cube fast through your hands too, practice and practice and your speed will keep on getting better

  • This is a WORKING method, thats easy to understand!! It does works, i have checked other videos, but i didn't understand anything, so thank you Daniel :D

  • for the last 2 cases u can use only one algorithm:

RU' RU RU RU' R'U' R2

;) much better ;) the rest of the tutorials are fine.. i got a few problems solving the first 2 layers but i got it now.. thx a lot dude

  • On the very last move, in the case when you have one edge solved and only three edges left to solve, rather than remember two 11 move algorithms, why not use only one 9 move algorithm that will work regardless of having to move clockwise or counter-clockwise?

    Start with the one correct piece away from you, then do F2 U* L R' F2 L' R U F2

The second twist with the asterisk is either U or U' to line up the correct center piece, otherwise the rest is always the same.

    Thanks these are great vids

  • good video my average time solving the rubiks cube was 4 minutes and now its 55 seconds

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks

  • thank you so much~~!! you are the only guide that i understand :S :D

  • What should i do, if i do not have a pair there where you do the algorithm R' , F , R' , 2B , R , F' , R' , 2B , 2R

  • @marc140197

do that exact algorithm in any position and it will get you to a pair, then repeat with the pair in the back

  • This is amazing, thank you so much

All the other oll / pll tutorials are impossible to learn from unless you basically already know how to do it haha

    -peace-

  • can you please tell me other the method for z-perm.please!!!!!!

  • from the position i show in the video do a U' (pieces to be swapped on F and L; R and B) then do R' U' R U' R U R U' R' U R U R2 U' R' U2

  • I can't get the corners right. I get the pair, then put it in the back, then do the algorithm, but nothing happens and it just messes up the pair that I had. What am I doing wrong?

  • Idk could you make a video response? I checked to make sure i wrote the algorithm correctly in the side bar and i did, so...... i really don't know. double check everything and if you still cant get it try making a video so i can see what exactly is going wrong

  • @DanieLDude1554 haha i was so stupid. I just had to turn the up face 90 degrees lol

  • try to speek more clearly put cue cards or a script to say what you read and it will help

  • to rotate the three edges use F2 U Or Ui depending on which way you turn it ( U for clockwise) L Ri F2 U Or Ui depending on which way you turn it ( U for clockwise) F2

  • i din not get the alg for the parrelell lines i knew most of the algs you used but not that one it's abit confusing

  • cheers dude u have helped me greatly

thanks i used to not be able to get below a minute my best was 1:13 now i am always getting below a minute unless i make a huge mistake thankyou

    what is ur best time

can u put a video of u solving it really really fast?

  • Thank you very much=)

  • Thanks for the vid, its really helpful.

i do have a Question tho, where can i find a vid or online instructions to learning the extra algorythms and getting really, really fast?

  • check out the part 6, 7, and 8 sections of this tutorial (link in the side bar on part 5) and/or go to my page and check out the advanced F2L tutorial series

  • wat if u dont get a pair wen doing pll

  • never mind

  • like when doing the corners? you can do the same move 2 times. once to get a pair and then again (with pair in the back) to solve the corners.

  • yep got it thanks:)

  • about 3 weeks i could solve the cube in 45 sec and my record are 35 sec :)

  • are you saying that after 3 weeks with this method you can solve it in that time? if so, that's great man, i'm glad this tutorial helped.

  • wooow thanx so much for about 3 months i couldent get less than 1:20. First time i tried this one properly i got 1.07

  • i use to solve the cube in 55 sec with beginner method... i'm gonna test this out so i can solve the cube faster....i my record are 44 sec (with luck)

im really hopping that this will make me solve the cube faster.

  • you should make your own steps slower

  • This is awesome. I haven't managed to get below 1 minute yet but I am getting there :) I saw your 3x3 solved in about 30 second video. Did you use this tutorial method or you know additional algorithm to get that fast? Thank's!

  • yes i used this exact method. Sometimes you can get lucky and you skip a few steps like OLL or PLL; that is what happened in that video. If you see part 6, 7, and 8 of this tutorial there are some short cuts for this method to help get faster.

  • This is exactly what I am looking for to reduce my time (about 1min20sec average using layer by layer now)... I have been struggling to find a good tutorial that can teach faster method in a simpler manner. I am going to learn this and if I get below 1 minute I shall post a video. Thank you so much!!! Keep up the good work :)

  • well I know you can do it, just practice. If you want, when you make your under one min video, post it as a video response to this one. Thanks for watching.

  • great job, i hope this video helped

  • i solved it in 40 secs

  • great I shaved almost a minute off my time thanks I haven't quiet reached one minute yet but thanks i'll practice more
