First time I heard this was on Armed Forces Radio in Japan, August, '71, while at the 13th World Jamboree during a typhoon that hit the campsite and forced evacuation.
An ingenious, ominous, creepy song. Gives me goose bumps everytime I hear it !! Pure genius. Great lyrics. Groovy orchestration. Powerful vocals. Clean. Fresh and smart. They don't make 'em like this one anymore.
lol When I used to work at Home Depot they played this song all the time on the radio. I used to look at all of those smiling faces(employees) and think hum this store is FULL of smiling faces!
One of the greatest songs of all time - produced by the great Norman Whitfield (RIP.)
