  • Not the bees! ahhaha my eyes!!!

  • If a flowering plant (containing both male/female parts) get's pollinated, it can produce genetically diverse seeds/fruits...

but does the ovule need pollination just once a season to yield many fruits, or is it like humans, where for every fruit you need a new egg/sperm pollination? Based on my lemon tree, it would seem like the latter controls the fruit yield for a given season.

Also, what about non-fruit plants, like grass... what does pollination do for them?

  • honey has cure for more than 70 diseases!

  • I don't understand why the public doesn't throw the greedy politicians and business "leaders" out on there worthless asses and put intelligent scientists in there positions. Scientists would actually make intelligent decisions that would improve our planet, not run it into the ground to make a quick buck.

  • I heard this guy cured his disease because of bee stings

  • bees an dogs are the only creatures on earth that can smell fear

  • @TheRisingforce2000 bees, dogs and homosexual pedophiles.

  • i love bees

  • Watch out,thats sounds pervert

  • i had 22 hives...due to varroa mites i now have one hive...too expensive to use apistan on 22 hives and i'm getting older...great video, but wheat fields they showed do not need bees

  • @byzantine717 I used to have 40's and I started only 2 colonies..but now all gone huhuhuhu..I ll start again I save some money..in my country (Philippines) it cost me $100 per colonies,,,I started 2004 and by 2007 all gone...I moved them to different place near the farm..and I thougth they will do good because there are so much corn farm.I did not realized farmers are using Monsanto treated seeds..

  • Naturally dissolve the chemicals that are causing the bees to die. Check out "chemtrails dissolved". Orgone pipes get rid of chmetrails in 5 minutes, 40 mile radius. Aim the pipes at the fields and what happens?!?!

See the power of orgone pipes. Go to the link called "Does Orgonite Eliminate Chemtrails?" While watching the vid try this - quick short stop/starts on the Play button. Do you see the "O waves" or "Sky Waves". The camera catches them. good site is soisnessdotorg.

  • Look.. I like bees and all but why is every one on PBS a flaming communist. Get over it. You lost. Your ideas have been proven to be not only immoral but economically inferior to the free enterprise system. The more the plans fail the more the planers plan.

  • @chaserehn How deluded are you to think PBS is communist? Seriously? And we watch to actually LEARN something about our wider world, and to enjoy the priviledge of not having to endure a bunch of bullshit commericals trying to sell me products that I could care less about. And since honeybees pollinate at least a third of our crops, you'd better care deeply about this. Nature isn't disposable folks.

  • I suppose if you were an actual beekeeper you would understand why you don't want your hive to swarm. You realize that we buy bees and having to buy them everytime they swarm becomes a bit like throwing away your money, plus the added loss of revenue in lost honey/wax/propolis/pollen whatever you collect and sell from you hive(s)

Sometimes they will swarm despite everything you try to stop them.

  • A very large amount of beekeepers kill the queen cells.

Considering the current terrible state that bees are in, the bee farmers should enable a small percentage of their hives to swarm naturally, otherwise they are effectively contributing to the problem by forcibly preventing the bee population to grow. If youre a hobbyist beekeeper please let them swarm at their own will, its the current best method of conservation by letting them recover their numbers in this crisis.

  • A naturally hive (like in a tree) will die within 3 years because of the mites. These mites have become immune to diseases and environment that used to kill them. These mites attack the bees larvae and in time kill the whole colony. Bees used to be able to defend against these mites but because of pesticides and human involvement, mites are now stronger. Honey bees now can't live naturally.. Im a beekeeper... its quite sad

  • Its very sad. I know of several wild colonies that have been in old trees for years. Every summer I would visit them to see they were. None of them are now existing. Unfortunately the bees dont have an integrated pest managment system.

  • Me to. I own just a few colonies in pitsburgh, and im scared enough for the winter (if its like last year, were both boned). Now i can pile this on my paranoia list.

  • brianchild666

my thoughts exactly tho i didnt know abt the corn and petroleum wow

I think New wORLD oRDER have deleberately done somthing to the bees bcoz tthey want genetically modified food and for organisations such as monsanto to be in control of the food. get the bees out of the way and natural pollination then they can control things even more. IF natural pollination is stop'd/manipulated ONLY they r the controllers.

  • Very good video... CCD is very dangerous. Bees in our country dying every day...

  • signifigantly

  • Man, that guy opened a bee hive, WITHOUT GLOVES ON! Yeah sure, they probably smoked em but what if some are still angry? He would get stung and scream like a little girl then drop the hive! I'd rofl in his face if that were to happen...

  • dude they have balls man. id like to see u try to do what they do. We need bees or do you think they magic fruits and vegitables out of thin air? think about it, think about it before you "rofl" your way into the soup line...where theres bland soup because no vegitables because no bees

  • Ya i am a beekeeper and you get used to the bees. The weather here is usually 30 celcius (86 farenheit) everday so i usually wear short sleeved coveralls so my arms and hands are exposed. The bees think your arms are just like a tree branch, 90% of my stings are because i accidentally squish a bee

  • We do have a huge responsibility to protect bees, real architects for a better world!!!

We can't argue, we owe them a lot...

Thanks for posting this video, it only reminds me I don't do enough though I have a garden and honor their presence.

  • the first guy looks like a giant midget...and...the bees joined the dolphins...why..cause we suck at being "superior"so yeah..good for them...

  • extremely important topic -- tell everyone you know to watch this!

  • I totally agree, it is one of my very favorite topic. Bees are true architects for a Beautiful world.

  • Genetically modified foods. They all have

pesticides in the plants. Watch GMO the movie.

The cell phone towers signal of 2.5ghz is the fequency that wasps communicate at. Have the wasp populations decreased? The amount of new allergies and permientations from this modified foods is an epidemic. The promoter gene is migrating up and down the dna strain trying its key on all the locks. The modified corn dna has mutated our gut bacteria to secrete OIL petroleum. Have you heard any of this before?

  • hmmm....didn't hear anything about the adverse effects of cellphone masts in this video...

  • It´s definately cellphones then.

The cellphone masts made the bees and the songbirds leave....I think that people are supposed to cut off the elecrtical lines to get things back to normal and then use spare electricity from old electronic technology and start things all over....

In other words go back in time electronically to the pre cell phone masts era. Then they must only produce that electricity which is based on implosion instead of explosion.

    regards,

    y.

  • Plenty of strange things are happening around us and we dont even take a blind bit of notice!..it aint just bees that are missing!...what about this...Do you remember? Windscreens were covered once, at the end of a car trip in high summer, with an insect massacre: splattered moths and squashed flies and wasps and gnats and God knows what. But in recent years more and more drivers seem to be finding their windscreens clear. Now there is something going on that we dont understand!

  • American corporations and businesses will always put profit before scientific reasoning.

  • I've been keeping bees for six years. I have more bees per hive this year '08 than I have ever had. This has been a really good year so far. Humans once had the plague to deal with, maybe the bees had a bee plague. And I never let my bees talk on a cell phone.

  • Do you know if other beekeepers have been experiencing the same good year?

  • I use to spray the yard with a mix of year long kill off sprays on the bare ground. The trees & garden remain sprayless. Next year I'll use a much more effective method of keeping aggressive weeds down: A shovel, elbow grease and replacing those spaces with NATIVE so. calif flowers and herbs. I hope to bring the bees to our yard again. I'm sorry, Bees for using sprays. No more, ok?

  • So...the bees disappearing is all your fault. Cheers america, your bringing about the end of the world

  • YOu can blame this all on America. This issue is Global. This is happening all over the place in different country.

  • BAN EXPERIMENTAL PESTICIDES from bayer cropscience and other pesticide companies

  • Does anyone know if this is a truly global problem or if it is confined to countries with intensive agricultural systems?

  • Yes this is global. Its occuring in Countries like Italy and Australia

  • Nice knowing you, planet Earth. We're gonna go extinct now k thanx bye.

  • It's most likely the polar shift that is slowly occurring. The bees are just sensing it before humans are, clearly, and are rapidly moving to a new climate. The downfall of America is beginning. Einstein is correct.

  • The bees are dying off because we abuse the earth. It is all those people who think they have to use pesticides in their gardens and farms. If it doesn't kill the bees, it disorients them. It is so sad, it is going to be the end of life as we know it.

  • well actually plants can be pollinated manualy justs its alot of hard work and it costs alot

  • we need the bees...the bees don't really need us. we need to pay attention to and respect this insect! grow sunflowers!

  • cell phones?

  • pesticides, among other problems. BUY ORGANIC!

  • katmeat global warming is causing the bees to ccd

  • I say it's the polar shift.

  • what an in-depth explanation!

    the blame for everything bad:

    GLOBAL WARMING (dun-dun-DUNNN)

  • This is both interesting and frightening at the same time.

  • We at the NW Pennsylvania Bee Keepers Association are working away from chemicals and breeding from those queens and colonies which survive the chemical developments. Rather than treat them, making a weaker bee. There are many apiaries, which are showing success with NO treatments at all. I hope more back yard bee keepers will shift to resistent bees, rather than rely on chemical treatments. Permaculture is a good start, be as organic as you possibly can. Thanks for this channel. Go Organic

  • (GOOGLE) airborne depleted uranium molecules.

XILLIONS of them with the Sahara winds (Iraq) and from many places like Tracy, CA.

Sticky Bees catch them much faster than we do and die by disorientation.

One molecule inhaled is lethal for humans.

    -

If Iran will be attacked with this stuff huamanity has 3 generations left.

    -

Apperently Generals have no Children and presidents no soul.

  • Well, this movie has changed my out look on life! This goes to my favorites and will be posted on my channel! Spread the word! That's what we should do as viewers. But as humans, we need to take action.

  • it will never happen..people are too lazy and too stupid to do anything to change the situation...so bees die, people die ..life will go on with new players on the earth.....

  • i really think you are correct on every level. This will take 1 million years + to fix this situation on an ecological level

  • thanx for ur nice reply.i dont personally dont feel bad for us(Homo sapiens),we had our short chance and have basically blown it.i do feel bad for the rest of nature though,to have to endure all we have put upon it for the past 1000 yrs or so.this may be the end,or an asteroid hitting the earth may be the end, once again..but it is also the new begining..

  • What about genetically modified pollen - clearly the most likely source of Colony Collapse Disorder. Not even mentioned in this program. Corporate controlled media. Bull!

  • Bee the Change . . . save your world and the bees . . .

    BL*M

  • Absolutely fascinating. I consider this a "must watch."

    Moosie

  • The social structure of bees is most interesting to me, since I'm studying distributed artificial intelligence.

  • So cool. Will try to watch.

I was terrified when I was younger (I was stung far to much in the country side), but as I have grown up there is nothing that compares to have a honey bee land on you and start sniffing around.
