Beware... Better avoid a close contact with an armadillo. About 25% of them carry leprosy and this is contagious to human.

I just rescued a baby armadillo at work in east TX. I work on pipelines and it fell into one of the post holes we dug yesterday for gates. I'm keeping him in a glass tank that has dirt and a little plastic house deal so it feels like its underground. I plan to keep it until it's an adult and can survive on its own.
