haha why does he talk so much how he wants to reevaluate the river. Basically you have a pair or a draw you hold on against isildur and if you dont' you fold. I like how he tries to make it all scientific though haha. Id like to see dwan against isildur again. I know Dwan will turn up his calling range. Isildur should quit now everyone knows how he plays

Wow, that's some agressive play from Isildur1. Watching him play it's easy to see how his aggressiveness won him then lost him all that money. Lots of jamming there, especially with nothing. You used his aggressiveness against him. Very smart.

so, seeing as you're a good player ("honestly a better player than Isildur"), you'd obviously recognise that if you're as aggressive as Isildur, it's important not to value bet thin ("semi-thin", according to Phil) in order to have an absurdly polarised range so your opponent has the very difficult decision of trying to decide whether you're bluffing (again) or have a straight flush. WP

Do 2 things. First of all, look at his omaha stats. They are shockingly bad and omaha is proper poker where there is far more thinking involved.

Then look at his recent form in NLHE. Of the past 4 months. He has lost about 4 mil in that time I think and it's exactly because people have realised plays like this that aren't profitable in the long run. Isildur needs to seriously improve his game. He gets spanked by everyone he plays now, and that includes NLHE.

4. only PLO is "proper poker"

5. one's ability @ PLO is indicative/determinative of one's ability @ NLHE

6. isildur "gets spanked" by everyone he plays @ NLHE (despite being a $2.65m winner @ the game)

Numbers 3, 6 and 7 are correct. The others you have misunderstood. And by quite a bit of money playing poker, I mean 3 hundred pounds so don't accuse me of getting too big for my boots. When I said "I'm honestly better than Isildur, I meant in this particular situation. When a guy re raises me, then raises and then checks the river, he is obviously intending to call any bet and with a value bet, he will only get called by better. It's pretty obvious.
