Wel not exactly, the common misconception about attempting to keep production within a home country is that it is nationalistic. In fact, it is not at all, it is an attempt to reduce the environmental impact of trade and shipping. If one can purchase a product in New York, that is produced say in New Jersey, the impact of transporting that product is far less than say the impact of transporting it from China or Taiwan.
