Males are more mellow and cannot get pregnant and cannot go into season (ready to make babies) because I went to a really good petstore (only 1 in existence) amd talked 2 a hamster expert/breeder. Females are more active and hyper along with going into season and haing babies make there urine smell more that males.

Hopefully this pet store you went to is good but there is more than 1 hamster expert ( yes i know you meant 1 good petstore) Females Urine can smell more when going into season but not always noticable. Males urine can smell more when they spray to mark territory as previously stated.

@Rockstar11P Well I could give you a super secret tip that I haven't told anyone? So you know when the pet store helper tells you "Don't touch or handle the hamster for three to four days"? Well its actually the best time to just pet her/his back and head for the second hour there home. Then the next day bring him out and hold him for a while. Oh and get a hamster ball, they LOVE those. And then your hamster and you will be really super close in four months. Oh and also get a male hamster

-.- When i bought my hamster they didn't want to crawl into my hand I had to pick them up and put them in the cage. And quick question, I just bought 2 hamsters yesterday and one of them is perfectly fine. It is sleeping, eating and drinking but the other does the same but he seems to sneeze a couple times when he starts eating (likes to eat sunflower seeds). Is he allergic to them or something or is it just a flu and he's just stressed?

@DrCooler1000 try switching to rodent block. its way more healthy for them but my hamster sneezed a lot but now he is stopping just make sure your hasmter eats drinks and goes on the wheel and doesnt seem lethargic. He could have a cold or allergies to something like the bedding. try experimenting with things to see what he is allergic to. try switching bedding. I just left my hamster alone and he turned out good. also call the vet to hear some suggestions. its free to talk to them on the phone.
