  • like her? how could a normal man to resist to such a enchantement?? how could a man try to prevail normal and quiet when our eyes could told everybody the soul and heart is burning?? it's easy to talk everything but so hard sometimes act the right and fair way! if a man does not try to see the faults of the woman who loves, however he loves, even if it costs more than ever to find those"faults"sooner or later that man just become"blind" and completly mad! Doty was so unique that is unbelievable!

  • on those images, films, documentary's etc i ask my self always how no human (mostly her father responsability) didn't protected this perfect angel from all those ugly and greed sharks who always search selfishness, power and trophee womens?? i believe that falling in love with Doty was like some kind of desiase who take care of soul and took everybody to madness... :/ very dangerous to ourselves to love such beauty and perfection, be sure about that! i imagine, how to behave to a women such

  • world is so strange.... we think when we have money, power, reputation etc we have everything! but how amazingly wrong we are! if the true love of our earth depart from this world we truly see after how weak in all senses we are! we normaly don't value some human being around us when we should do it but late we cry tears like we wouldn't have no more a sunrise! I didn't knew sweet Doty when she was alive...i didn't was born yet (i was born 7 months afther the most sad day) etc but for what i see

  • Thank you.

  • I subscribed ;p

  • Speedcop can't get a woman. He's bitter. Nuff said.

  • beautiful dorothy she looks like has marilyn monroe

  • from my point of view Dorothy was young and naive I blame Peter who was a old bastard that was enough to be her father she dint had much experience with men yes she made the mistake to go out with Peter while still married bt still Paul knew Dorothy was going to divorce him either way Paul had no right to killed Dorothy in such a brutal way

  • "Dorothy"---Greek; "Gods gift to man".

  • @speedcop42 No you look, he DID NOT make her, she was a natural beauty & all he saw were $ signs. He USED her for financial gain.. Yeah ANYONE could have discovered her like I said. He got a photographer to take her picture, that's it. He controlled her until she had enough. She was maturing and finally wanted to be free but not wanting to hurt him. He wouldn't accept that so he brutally raped & murdered her & you ask "did she ask for it" . :/ Jesus F'n Christ! >_<

  • "Died in 1980" doesn't even begin to describe the tragedy. She was brutally murdered by that loser ex-husband, whose name I won't even mention!

  • so beautiful and special angel RIP

  • Thats so sad, to die so young...

  • All I have to say is thanks for putting this video together.

  • Hard to believe just a few years before she was selling ice cream at Dairy Queen.

  • @Attila709 Yes and her "loser" (as described by auggiedoggy) husband discovered her. Of course like most folks when she had made it off his hard work she was ready to dis him for the Hollywood scene and men. How soon and easy they forget. Just because she was beautiful and got killed dosn't make everything she did right. Maybe he did what he thought he had to do just like she was doing.

  • @speedcop42 "when she had made it off his hard work"? Surely you jest! The only thing Paul he did was "discover" her. Anyone could have, it just happened to be him. Dorothy made it on her own, she made the money and he helped himself to it. She didn't deserve what happened to her. She obviously didn't love Paul when she married him, she only married him because she was pressured by him and felt obligated. She wasn't happy in the "marriage" and had every right to get out of it..

  • @dappylu Look,,I hate to step on some female toes here but women justify everything they do with their rights and love. They step all over men and then it is just O.K. because of something involving rights or love every time. When men do the same things as women involving relationships the are "pigs, whore hoppers etc." Anyone could have discovered her?? Who is this person named anyone??. The fact is that Paul DID discover her and Made her. Should he have killed her NO!! Did she ask for it hmmm?

  • @speedcop42 , this was not a case of a woman "stepping all over a man" as you like to call it - Dorothy was a teenager when she met Snider & he was out to exploit her and make money off of her - plain and simple. In his mind, he "owned" her, never mind it was her beauty, talent, & kindness that made her so well-respected & liked, and that paved the way for her career. Snider had no livelihood of his own and lived off of Dorothy, not to mention unfaithful to her. She was being abused, not him.

  • @speedcop42 , no one asks to be tortured, raped & murdered. And obviously she trusted him enough to see him alone, and he violated that trust. She was in no way to blame, she owed him NOTHING, he was a slimy hustler who didn't want to lose his meal ticket & he viewed her as a possession. Dorothy was well-liked by all who knew her, Snider was despised by nearly all who encountered him - Dorothy's friends & associates, including Hefner, thought he was creepy and controlling.

  • @Muirmaiden You use Hefner as a standard to measure how creepy someone else is??? You must be sick. If Snider was still alive he still would not be the creep that dried up prune Hefner is. Thinking he is still a playboy when all them gold diggers (like Stratten) clean out his account everyday. You show yet again how far women will go to explain the sick, gold digging, self centered behavior which results in them causing what happens to them. She basically pulled the trigger herself. 4-get-her!!

  • @speedcop42 , please, Snider lived off of Dorothy Stratten. He was a coward & a loser who had to resort to rape & murder as his ultimate control over her. That shows him to be the oppressor, not her.

Oh, poor Snider, who couldn't take the rejection of a young girl he manipulated, controlled & sponged off of. Hefner at least is not a rapist or a murderer. Snider was. Get it? He committed the crime here, no one else. What are you, a woman hater? Take your appalling ignorance elsewhere.

  • @Muirmaiden Look at your own ignorance. You have no idea what Hefner has or has not done. A pervert like him is capable of anything. I can't believe in fact that YOU don't understand it was Hefener's manipulations which lead to the tragedy. Hefner and Peter Bogdanovich are more to blame than anyone. The fact is Bogdanovich fell out for many years with your hero Hefner over how everything went down. I wouldn't expect a simple minded woman to know relevant history so go wash your hair dummy

  • @speedcop42 , the only one to blame for Dorothy's murder is Snider, pure & simple. No one forced him to rape & kill her. When did I say Hefner was my hero? Exactly, I didn't. I know Hefner is no prize, neither is Bogdanovich. Snider did what he did because he chose to. He had no right to do what he did to Dorothy, & then like a coward take his own life. I find it pathetic that you seem to be glorifying a murderer, blaming the victim and those around her for what happened.

  • @speedcop42 , I love your hypocrisy about this case. Basically blaming her rape & murder on Dorothy herself, & then switching gears & referring to it as a "tragedy" and blaming her & everyone else but Snider, the perpetrator. He was responsible for what he did. You come to a memorial tribute of a young girl who was horribly slain & post trash about how she may have "asked for it". Really? Okay then.

  • @Muirmaiden And no matter how many times you post I will respond because I know nothing would please you more than to have the last word. I will never allow that. Am not a woman hater but I know how to handle a bitch.

  • @speedcop42 , then by all means, continue to make a fool of yourself. I certainly won't stop you.

  • @Muirmaiden You are just another dumb female with no idea of truth other than what you determine it to be. Read your history on the this case and you will see the full scope and totality of the circumstances that pushed Snider past his mental stability causing this tragedy / murder / killing (whatever you like the best). When one is pushed into a paranoid schizophrenia mental state he or she are not responsible for their actions. You should certainly sympathize with mentally defunct people like U

  • eric roberts is a great actor

  • @beepollen1 and I read they got it too. SAD.

  • Thank you for making this video of Dorothy Stratten, it is one of the best on youtube.

  • @beepollen1 I was drunk one night and this was at the time britney spear's boyfriend's deragatory nickname, I voted no on prop 8 so don't trip! Love D.S.! she was a classy gal and very much a natural. Paul was a supreme psychopath!

  • @beepollen1 I believe especially as I just read the book killing of the unicorn, that Paul had either threatened to kill himself if she did not come by or he may have even threatened D's FAMILY! I hate that prick

  • @beepollen1 I posted a message on the patti page and to her on her homepage. it says she is a girl I don't believe it

  • @beepollen1 certainly sounds that way! dorothy was so tragic it was so unfair what she went through. Paul is in hell!

  • @beepollen1 certainly sounds that way!

  • A daughter of Vancouver.

  • She was so beautiful. Her smile lit up the room and you could'nt help but smile yourself. Heaven received another angel in 1980. Dorothy is still sorely missed.

  • Rest In Peace

  • Era guapisima!...Vi la pelicula Star 80 hace mil años, pero hasta hoy no habia visto la cara de la autentica Dorothy...Que lastima con lo joven que era...

  • This is the best video on youtube.

  • In my opinion, Dorothy Stratten came the closest to be like Marilyn than anybody else living or dead! She had a similar type of innocence about her...vulnerability & some sadness, but sweet & friendly & flawless...everything that made her beautiful seemed effortless...what a sincerely, tragic loss that I still haven't gotten my arms around! Lovely tribute & thanks, ever so, beepollen1 for sharing this gem! 10+++++++++++++ stars & so many more! Love, Red

  • she was an angel and a victim oh her own beauty

    RIP sweet baby

  • @beepollen1

I AGREE. ROAST IN HELL YOU ROTTEN BASTARD PAUL SNIDER FOR EVER AND EVER!

  • Ofcourse people would think that because he was so inlove with Dorothy. I still can't understand how those two could get together like that. But then again I guess I can. I wonder why she divorced Peter? Did they have any kids together? Is she still living in Canada? There is just so much to ask. I'll have to catch that Biography Story on Dorothy when it airs again. I'm sure Peter tried his best to take care of the family after Dorothy's death.

  • Thanks again for responding to what I had written, and asked. How do you know so much about Dorothy's familyand what they are doing these days? Where are you finding all of this information? I guess I am missing it all from somewhere. Thanks again. Do you know how long Louise and Peter were married and why they divorced. I think Peter married her to get over the loss of Dorothy. But I could be wrong.

  • A modern day Helen of Troy.

  • Thanks for responding to me on what I was wondering. That's sad that her mom and brother wish to block this out by not speaking about her. One day the silence has to be broken though ya know? Do you know where they are now and what they are up to these days? Louise. What is she up to these days? Is she still with Bogdanovich? You don't hear anything about them ever anymore. That is so sad. I wish Dorothy had of gone to the lawyer too. People told her not to go, but she had no idea.

  • I came to learn who Dorothy was by being a fan of Marile Hemingways as well. She played the role of Dorothy Stratten in Star 80. I wanted to see who the real Dorothy Stratten was. I fell inlove with her the moment I saw her. Even though she had already died I felt that t had just happened. I know that Paul was a nut. I just wish that Dorothy hadn't have gone there that day to try to talk to him. It's just so tagic, and sad. How does he family deal with this I wonder? It has to be hard.

  • she was an angel the most beauty and sweet playmate that i ve never seen before

  • What a terrible loss.

    Such sorrow!!!

  • nice tribute!

  • so many great talents lost forever for reasons that suck like a murder or overdose.rip to all the great artists whom have left us before there mission was complete.peace

  • lovely

  • The true vision of beauty, so sad!!

  • This is a great video.

  • Nobody with a conscience could look into those gentle eyes of Dorothy and want to do harm to her. Paul was a no good psychopath and Peter was not much better.

  • I agree with you about Paul, I remember reading an interview from a woman who dated Paul years before Dorothy and recalled an incident where he chased her out of her house, threatening to kill her. Chilling isn't it?

  • Everyone that loves Dorothy feels that we lost a beautiful angel. She was so special.

  • Dorothy look so beautiful in that photo of her behind the anchor man. It's so sad that she died so young with the world at her feet. Paul Snider and Peter are both sharks.

  • Wow, what a women!

  • This is lovely... it is impossible for me to not cry during the 1st song. I remeber her .... I was 10 yrs old when she was taken away from us. She will always be beautiful :)

  • Would you ever pass by her house in West LA? It's still standing.

  • The audio is back...YES!

  • wtf is the music gone...blooody you tube you are an asss

  • Youtube have now reistated the original music.

I hope you like the video.

  • Thank you for uploading this beautiful tribute to Dorothy....it's exquisite like she was.

  • @danaplatofan LOVE the video!! Thanks...

  • bring back the music!!!

  • Oh my gosh! I'm so dissappointed. I love the song(s) that go with this video, especially "Glorious Day" by Embrace. Can someone please please repost this song on Youtube. Thanks!

  • The music is BACK !!!

  • What two songs were played with the video?

  • "A Glorious Day" by Embrace, and "Slipping Away" by Moby.

  • Even without the music, I would still watch the video. One of the best on Youtube

  • She is so beautiful:( RIP

  • At 7:15 what movie was that scene from?

  • Autumn Born.

  • no man deserves a woman this hot , nuff said

  • Fantastic.

  • 6:32 moment of pure bliss. Ahhhhhh Star 80 baby!

  • Dorothy.... Sadly, a flower crushed just as she was starting to bloom by a person whose anger drove him to the extreme action of preventing her full beauty from being released to the world.

  • She's my favorite Playboy bunny. Shannon Tweed is number two.

  • Thank you for this wonderful tribute. It's so great to see footage of Dorothy. She was such a unique and beautiful young woman. It's such a tragedy that she was taken from this world in such a horrible way, but heaven has gained an angel.

  • to say she was beautiful is an understatement its too bad her life ended the way that it did as for her estranged husband paul he should have left her at dairy queen where he found her she would have been better off if she never met him and as for peter bogdanovich hes the real scumbag of this story after this happened he married her younger sister who was 29 yrs younger then he was what a fucking pervert.

  • SO SAD

  • She was an exquisite woman. Thanks for this beautiful tribute.

  • What a wast. We will never know what she could have done with her life, if she lived. The world is a poorer place without her.

  • What is the name of those two songs and what is the name of the music group. Great sound track. An excellent tribute danaplatofan!

  • The first song is by a band from England called "Embrace". The name of the song is "A Glorious Day". The second song is called "Slipping Away" by Moby.

  • She was an angel fallen on earth. I want to dedicate her this song: " Heaven was missing an angel"

    Dear Dorothy you're so missed.

  • A wonderfull tribute. I really liked the music. I once heard Dorothy Stratten referd to as the "perfect women". Honey, don't you know nothing in this world that is perfect can't last very long.

    Rest In Peace, Dorothy

  • Well, there's no such thing as perfection, but Dorothy was somebody that women could look up to.

So much is made about Dorothy being a Playboy model. I encourage anybody reading this to find all you can about Dorothy. She was much more. Anybody that has ever met her has said, to a person, she was the sweetest, most unassuming person you could ever hope to meet. That is why she is remembered. Her spirit burns bright so many years after she was taken from us.

She was beautiful inside and out.

  • Lots of footage I haven't seen. Tukkerpower is right. What an incredible smile she had.

Tomorrow is Dorothy's birthday. What a wonderful tribute to a special lady. Thank you!

  • The pride of CANADA.....rip dorothy!!

  • Great video and song for a beautiful woman, who died too soon. What a smile she had! It's so sad.
